And it’s not just accommodation at the upper end of the market that promises WiFi. Beyond your hotel, Valais main resorts have a number of WiFi hotspots. If you’re staying in the Zermatt, Crans-Montana, Saas Fee and Leukerbad along the Rhone Valley, it’s not unusual for larger restaurants and bars to offer WiFi for customers, just ask for the passcode if it’s not clearly advertised. If you need to hook up with high-speed broadband while you’re staying in Valais it’s worth checking at the local tourist information centre for details of any local business centres.
Valais is a region full of amazing views to snap and share online, so it’s worth getting out and about from your hotel to see what you discover. One of the most photographed panoramas in Valais is the Matterhorn mountain – the pyramid-shaped symbol of Switzerland that has to be seen to be believed. There’s even skiing to be had at the height of summer on the Allalin glacier in Saas Fee and the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise in Zermatt. And don’t miss the chance to journey to the heart of the glacier in the world’s largest ice grotto or dine in style at the world’s highest revolving restaurant.
