Nice hotel with only short walk into town. Lovely pool area, great breakfast on terrace overlooking pool. Bedrooms smallish but very quiet at night. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Free car parking limited but not a problem for us. Great place to chill out and do very little, but also good base for visiting Tuscany sights.

We stayed for a week, but wished it could be longer, mainly due to the sincere and helpful nature of all the staff. Whatever we needed to know about the locations we were visiting they had extremely good advice, provided maps and gave useful tips about parking and areas of interest. One of our days was spent sitting by the pool side, which was extremely relaxing and the staff again, were extremely tentative making our whole holiday very pleasant and memorable. We particularly loved that the hotel has managed to retain an air of it's old ancient monastery roots whilst still attending to modern needs.

This is a beautiful hotel, in a spectacular location at the top of a hill. The rooms were amazing, the pool was great, and the breakfast was delicious and was served in a separate building on the grounds with amazing views. Has free parking, elevator. Staff was very helpful and courteous. We wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the atmosphere, we only had booked for one night. We walked down the hill to the town for dinner. Would definitely recommend this Hotel to all.
Hotel was very nice, we had a beautiful view from our room which was quite spacious. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the hotel and the breakfast was very very good. This is a great spot to stay just outside the city of San Gimignano. Would recommend.
The River Elsa cuts northwards from its source in the hills west of Siena before joining the Arno. Colle di Val d’Elsa is the main centre along its Sienese upper reaches, noted for its glass industry. Some 95 percent of Italy’s lead crystal hails from here, and the lower town is crammed with shops selling its wares. The upper town is set along a winding ridge, and full of historic interest. Several museums showcase Etruscan and Sienese art.
