Perfect location, but no restaurant or bar opened during the day at the weekend. Staff could have been more helpful for first time visitors to the city looking for tips.

Good central location. Not much of a lobby to relax but otherwise no issues. Parking available at €8.5 per day per entry.

Friendly, clean hotel. Could do more Gluten free
Friendly staff. Room clean. One of the Lifts was broken so waiting time was excessive. Breakfast was poor- I emailed hotel prior to arrival to advise of being a coeliac other than gluten free bread, nothing else for €20 !!!!

Everything after check in was wonderful at this hotel. The check in was awful. We had booked 2 rooms, but only 1 showed up on their computer. I showed them my confirmation email with both rooms paid for, but the first person still kept insisting she couldn't find it on the computer. After a long time a second person came over and got our rooms sorted out, but it was very frustrating.

Nice property
very nice property. Great staff. Bike friendly in that they had space to lock up our bikes. All the Mercure properties I have stayed at are very nice modern and clean.

i had a bad travel day and lost my phone charger. The staff just lent me one. It was a simple thing but made a big difference to my experiance, I appreciate it.

when I was checking in nobody in the recption told me that maximum 3 people can stay in one room even they saw my families, my wife, daughter, me, and my son less than 2 years old. and in the evening they told me I had to open a new room or I needed to move out, it was 11pm at that time, so what I could do, had to spend more money to open a new room. disgusting, never come back again.

The Mercure is well situated (10 min walk) from restaurants, pubs, and sights in the old town. The breakfast offering is excellent with plenty of choice - well worth the money for a leisurely start to the day. Hotel guests get reduced rate parking in the public car park under the hotel - it is clean, spacious, secure, well lit, and has direct access into the hotel.

Bathroom and lighting were marginal. Bathroom: Slippery floor in shower. Shelf plus wide sink along the whole mirror made it impossible to get close enough to apply makeup. Lighting was dim. We only had one bath towel for the two of us. Lighting in room was a challenge. Either all the ceiling lights were on or none of them. Window in room was small so natural light was minimal. Breakfast was minimal. Overall disappointed in the value for the price.

Nice comfy Hotel - But reservation system sucks
Booked a business trip for 2 nights at the Mercure via Hotels.com and received the nice green check "Your booking is guaranteed and all paid for." e-mail. Yet when I checked in I was told by the reception it was only booked for 1 night. I contacted Hotels.com and they said that apparently there was a problem with the hotel's system and they were not able to book the 2nd night. I was asked to leave the hotel following the first night - (quite an inconvenience as I required to leave the hotel at 8am to be at the client's office) - with no indication of where will I be staying. Not acceptable at all. So turns out the booking was not actually guaranteed as the Mercure was overbooked. This has caused a bit of inconvenience not only due to having to checkout but also requiring taking time and credit to chase the matter by phone. Hotels.com did provide an alternative for the 2nd night in the morning, although not as close to where I would've preferred. Sometimes I ask myself is it worth booking with an agent like Hotels.com? If something goes wrong, as in this case, you need to deal with both the middle-man and the hotel itself.

On the whole a good, clean, friendly, well-located hotel. Will stay there again and will recommend. Only slight negatives are the price of parking in the underground car parking spaces not being included in the overall price, and the odd location of the breakfast area within the hotel. It has no daylight and this has been masked by injecting some sort of "nightclub" feel into it. I would prefer to see some daylight instead!

Stayed in 801. Beautiful views spacious w a great jacuzzi. The bed was a bit hard and there was a silver fish in the bathroom area - reception and staff are very helpful - breakfast buffet w plentiful and delicious. Gym acces was within the same building. Location is very central w loads of shops near by- old town is a 5 min walk.

Short trip to Amersfoort.
We used the hotel as a base to visit Amersfoort. The location was convenient, not far to walk to the town centre or the train station. People on reception were friendly and helpful and the room was fine. We did not use any of the hotel's other facilities. Overall, the hotel met our requirements very well.
