Charco is a beautiful hotel right in the heart of Colonia del Sacramento. The hotels is wonderful and the staff were amazing. If you're going to visit Sacramento then this is the place to stay.

The staff at Charco are all top shelf: kind, smart, and attentive! We felt so blessed from the moment we arrived. The food is excellent! You must eat in the restaurant: the poke bowl and the beet hummus are delicious. Our room was clean and quiet and so spacious. We loved the wee pool too. Top stars for this hotel.

This was an absolutely charming little hotel, with the stone wall in our room being the same stones you see on the outside. In the old, colonial section of town with cobblestone streets and remnants of the old city wall and draw-gate still in place. This hotel is right where you want to be in order to explore the historical area of the town. Only a $5 taxi ride from the ferry station, and no need for a rental car while here; you can walk everywhere. In the 5 countries we visited on this trip, this hotel was a highlight. And the Charco restaurant was also wonderful. Only complaint - the hotel was so quiet, we slept until 10:30 am. If you're from the U.S., do remember to bring your electrical converters. We had no USB plug-ins in our room (though the other couple we were with said there was one under their desk) and had to use a converter to plug in anything. Staff was also incredibly nice & helpful and spoke perfect English. What an amazingly quaint, beautiful place right on the river. I want to go back!

Hotel nice the bistro excellent and servers But considering first time guest and staying at their suite i was charged for a tea bag!!! They hunted me down upon checkout through whats up to pay for a tea bag…. Which i has to provide my cc info via email 😏😕 👎

You pay for the hard product - the location in the old town, the river views and the beautiful room and balcony. The staff are AMAZING … except the chef who would not accept a simple request for a green salad. I had no hot water in my room so could not take a shower.

Very cute boutique hotel with charming rooms and a great onsite restaurant overlooking the river. Staff was very friendly and attentive and allowed is to extend our check out time easily. Great stay!

Very well located in the Centro Histórico, the staff is very helpful (lots of suggestions for dining and visiting Colonia and Carmelo. Breakfast was plentiful and very savory. Street parking was not a problem at all.

Excellent hotel and very good service. The restaurant is a separate business and the food was good and the service good, but the hotel is a higher standard. Great place to stay in Colonia but consider dinner elsewhere.

Absolute gem
An absolute gem! The main part of the hotel is a charming refurbished old house. Rooms have all amenities, staff is extremely helpful and there is a restaurant with garden and unforgettable views of the river.

Nice hotel that could be better. The staff seem disinterested and aren’t particularly engaging. The room was nice with a very comfortable bed, however during our stay construction on the building next door starts at 8am so sleeping isn’t an option. However that shouldn’t be held against the hotel. The breakfast was perfect and the restaurant staff were very helpful and accommodating which was greatly appreciated. Room service was prompt and very nice as well. However I find it shocking for the price of the hotel that they charge 3usd for a coffee pod in your room or significant charges for bottled water. These seem like small amenities that could and should be included. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it but it could be so much better with very little effort.

The hotel is beautiful, specially enjoyed the views to the river and its location in the old town. On the other hand, I found the hotel very overpriced to what it actually offers, beware that constructions are on going at both ends of the hotel so spending the day at Charco can be a bit unpleasant due to all the noise.

Wonderful weekend stay. 5 minutes from the Buenos Aires ferry. Great dinner on the patio and wonderful inclusive breakfasts. Late afternoon we used the hotel bikes!

A beautiful hotel in the historic district
We really enjoyed staying at the Charco Hotel. It was very clean, the staff very friendly, and the breakfast was great! The room was perfect- quiet, peaceful, well decorated and tended. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the two bedroom Al Rancho which was great for us and the kids. The room is very comfortable and very rustic and stylish. The Bistro is amazing and we enjoyed exploring the old town on the bikes the hotel provides.

The location was fantastic, the breakfasts perfect and every member of the staff was exceptionally helpful, friendly and genuinely interested in making sure that our stay with them and throughout the remainder of our journey was to our liking. The manager, William, and his 2 assistant managers freely offered us suggestions for local experiences that were unique to the dates when we were in Colonia as well as restaurant suggestions for other places that were on our itinerary. As independent travelers, we greatly appreciated their willingness to share their insights-which all proved to be excellent.
