Old world, friendly service.
This is a traditional hotel that had seen better days - faded pictures, old fashioned styling. But everything worked, except for internet. Almost non existent WiFi, no 4G or even 2G. (Hillside). Reception area reminded me of a hostel. Service & breakfast was good. If you’re on the 3rd floor there is no elevator. Location not convenient for shops.

Hi Tom, thanks for your review. We have a building that is build 120 years ago. So yes the building is traditional. We are renovating constant. The reception area is called bar. This is were you only took your key and did not spend any money of all. You did sit here but did not want to order because you just drink some free water on your room- Your mobilphone was not working and your bike was broken so talking about better days. The pictures are not faded, i think your glasses are also broken. You booked a hotel without an elevator and then you are complaning. You booked a hotel 800 Meters from the centre and then you complane obout no shops?? Sorry we cannot make everybody happy. Hi speed internet from April 2020.

Up the road from Boppard.
This is a cute inn, up the road from the chairlift.It is a quiet area and walkable to Boppard. I booked in advance due to location and amenties. We were informed the hosts would not be there and we self checked in. This meant no wifi and no bar(which there is). It is always nice to enjoy a drink after a long day on the road-it was disappointing. Breakfast was good-nice selection with cook to order eggs.

If you struggle to carry your luggage up 3 floors, then contact the hotel to see if there are rooms on lower floors. Car parking is good, but not enough spaces when hotel is fullm

Sorry we did not have rooms on the lower floors availible. For next time please ask with your reservation for a room on the lower floors if you do not want to walk stairs. As you know we do not have a lift.

There are many activities you can do. Hiking, Mountain biking and so on. The view from the top of the mountain to Rhine river is terrific.

Very nice hotel on the Rhine
The hotel was perfect for our family of four. The breakfast was great, the room was very comfortable. The hotel was convenient for walking into the town for shopping and dinner, not too far from the train station. It was very nice to have parking at the hotel. We would stay there again.

Charming place to stay
Such a cute little place tucked away in. 15 minute walk to Boppard main square. Friendly staff. Breakfast was awesome. The view was amazing. and lots of trails to hike and get a feel for the people and culture.

A good base to explore the Rhine valley.
Lovely friendly family run hotel within easy walking distance of the Rhine and the many facilities in Boppard. Our room was comfortable and clean. Meals in the evening were tasty good home cooking. Will hopefully stay there again.

The best secret in Boppard.
A big thank you to the Proprietor of this Hotel, he is what you would look for in every Hotel, happy, polite, happy to help, knows the area, can recommend restaurants, nothing is too much. We just wish we had found the Hotel before. The room was good, as was the bed, everything clean etc. Thank you so much.

Boppard stay
Traveling thru Germany stopped for one night in Boppard. The hotel was very nicely operated. CLEAN, CONFORTABLE,GOOD LOCATION, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Nice, cozy, friendly, excellent location
We are a family of four with small children. We stayed here for one night. The hotel is very nice, excellent food, and close to the river and within walking distance to the Boppard Klettersteig (The chair lift that takes you to the top of the large hill). There is a playground just two doors down from the hotel, so that was nice. The hotel has a small parking lot in front. We stayed on the forth floor (had it all to ourselves) the rooms were slanted, so that was a bit awkward, but it was nice to have three bedrooms all to ourselves. The hotel staff were very nice and we really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast consisted of coffee, tea, milk, juices, bread, jelly, yogurt, dry cereal, meats and cheeses and hard boiled eggs. If location is what you want, this is a good hotel. Very reasonably priced, especially for what you get.

Nice hotel not too far from Marksburg Castle
Staff (also the barkeep and possibly the owner?) was extremely friendly and helpful even with our late check in. Hotel was clean and orderly, though perhaps a little a outdated, but still pleasing overall. Would stay here again.

wonderful location to see the Rhine
This was a wonderful small family run hotel to stay in. The inn keeper was very friendly and helpful. Our room was extremely clean, and the hallways, everything about the hotel was clean. It was within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and the Rhine river. Breakfast was delicious with lots of good variety. Our whole family was in one room, which is not always easy to find in Europe.

Simple, clean and peaceful
Stayed one night on our road trip. The room was basic but had what we needed, the shower was very good and large although the rest of the ensuite was a little small. Breakfast was the expected continental fare, witha good selection which was refilled as needed. Coffee stands out as being very good. Would certainly recomend and stay again ourselves.

Great little hotel with hard working owner
Stopped here for two nights and it was perfect for our needs. Jaap the owner works very hard. Only 10 minutes walk from town centre and right next to chairlift ride. We liked the smoking roof top seating area where you could just have a beer and chill.

Delightful family-run hotel in a quiet location
The hotel is located in a quiet leafy suburb, a pleasant 15-20 minute stroll along the Rhine from the centre of Boppard. The English-speaking owner was extremely friendly and helpful in accommodating the needs of our family. There are nice touches like a selection of toys to keep small children amused at meal-times. The hotel itself offers a decent cold breakfast buffet, and snack meals through the day, as well as providing good value packed lunches. There are also a couple of excellent restaurants in the locality, and many more in Boppard itself. Rooms were a little on the small side, but clean and well-maintained. Boppard itself is a charming little town with easy access to all the attractions of the Rhine Gorge. All in all this hotel made a great base for a family holiday.

It was warm in the room a fan could have helped. We did have a shared balcony which was really nice. We stayed at 15 different hotels many had breakfast. The breakfast was not one of the best. No hot dishes. There was a large selection of rolls, but no sweet rolls or muffins.

Friendly, great family stay
We were welcomed promptly, had everything we needed, including a balcony room, comfy beds, and clean room. The breakfast was tasty and filling. We would stay again, if we head that way again. There were hiking trails within steps of the hotel door, waterfront shops and restaurants within walking distance. Jan was gracious, and gave us a map and overview of the area. Depending on the amount of time you have for a hike, he'll let you know which trail to take. It was a lovely hotel.

Great for walkers
This hotel is on the north side of the village so easy for walkers doing the Rhinehohenweg - you walk nearly past the door! Bit of a trek into town for a meal, but fab Weinstubb just opposite the Railwaystation for a pre dinner drink. Good breakfast for setting you up for a day's walking.

Rudimentär ausgestattetes Zimmer zu hohem Preis
Rudimentär ausgestattetes sehr kleines Zimmer direkt neben dem Hoteleingang. Entsprechend war die Lautstärke bis tief ins die Nacht durch rückkehrende andere Gäste (Bierfest), die teilweise mit dem Auto bis direkt vor das Zimmerfenster gebracht worden sind. Selbstverständlich mit lautstarker Verabschiedungszeremonie. Daher war Fensteröffnen (ebenerdig) erst ab ca. 3:00 nachts möglich. Keine Zimmeraufbereitung während des Aufenthaltes, Frühstück ab 08:00 (für Geschäftsreisende zu spät), aber bezahlt. Ab 21:00 "Bar" geschlossen. Zimmerpreis auf 4* Niveau in Großstädten deutlich überteuert für die gebotene Leistung. Ich hatte ausdrücklich bereits im Vorfeld um ein ruhiges Zimmer gebeten und hatte offensichtlich das am wenigsten Geeignete zugewiesen bekommen.
