A nice surprise
Hotel is located just 7 min walk from both train station and the old centre of Leoben. The check-in was fast, room is spacious and quite with a nice view. It was a pleasant surprise to discover a 50m outside pool and indoor spa facilities (several saunas and air bubble spa pools), all included with your stay. The staff was friendly.

Let down by rude staff and restaurant
As far as the room goes, it was fine, clean, albeit a little basic for this price point. Bed was a little hard and furniture needs updating. Disappointing parking is charged (8 EUR) considering the location and basic rough grass / gravel parking. However, main issue and reason for this poor review is down to the frankly rude and abrupt receptionist when checking out. All down to a dispute over meal charges for supposedly my dinner included room rate. When seated in the restaurant I asked the server if there was a set menu etc. for my dinner included room rate, she wasn't sure but would check. Nearly 20mins later I eventually got an answer that I could order from the set menu or a la carte, surprised I double checked this and she again confirmed whatever the bill amount it would be deducted from my bill at check out. Meal itself was ok if nothing special but the service was incredibly slow for a half empty restaurant. At check out I was then presented the bill for last nights meal, I politely stated my room had dinner included and received a response of 'NO, you must pay'. I then showed my email confirmation with 'dinner included' and ensued a near 20min battle with the receptionist. Who eventually said ok we deducted 35 EUR but you must pay the rest. I told her I'd checked this with the server and round in circles we went. Eventually after a huge amount of frustration she slung my bill at me and said 'ok, goodbye'. Very poor customer service, I won't be staying again!

Dear Oliver, thank you for your feedback. Your`re right, the booked rate includes the breakfast buffet as well as our FLEX-half board, which means a credit of € 35,00 per person and day. You can use the credit flexible for all bars and restaurants in our house. Consumptions above those 35 euro credit are charged automatically and need to be paid at the check out. There must have been a misunderstanding at the restaurant, so we did not charge the extra costs. Sorry for that. We hope you enjoyed your stay and would be happy to welcome you again in our hotel. Great hotel. Large open spaces to work or relax. Good spa features if you like that sort of thing. Fantastic breakfast!

Nice place to stay in Leoben
The Falkensteiner is an excellent high quality hotel and spa. Spa is included! Great breakfast buffet with everything including cooked eggs station. My only two complaints were uneven housekeeping (sometimes towels and coffee supplies were not reloaded). My second complaint is smoking on the site. people were not permitted to smoke in rooms but people smoked on their private balconies and thus smoke came into our room. We had to close the windows - too bad since Leoben is such a clean, fresh country. Smoking outside entrances was also poor form.

Nice Business Hotel in Kofe
Not first time I stayed here. They have a good breakfast, free coffee, and free noodles at night. This is very good for a Japanese business hotel. If you are travelling for business in Kofu this is a good place to stay. Also a very nice onsen on the top floor of the hotel

Nice hotel but make the most of the Spa
Stay here often when we visit family in Leoben. Modern rooms with nice outlook and close to town. Some soft towels would be the only critism - they are past their best. Overall excellant as always.

Ich würde jedem empfehlen das Hotel direkt über die Hotelseite zu buchen. Grund dafür ist, wenn man das Hotel über externe Seiten bucht, dann zahlt man für den Spa-Bereich pro Kopf und Tag € 16,00, wenn man vor Check-In und nach Check-Out den Wellnessbereich nutzen möchte. Trotz Rabattcode auf der Expedia-Seite haben wir dazu bezahlt. Hätten wir direkt über das Hotel gebucht, dann wäre uns das erspart geblieben.

Die Unterkunft ist schön gelegen, die Zimmer sind top eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Der Inkl. Zugang in den ASIA SPA mit abgetrennter Saunalandschaft (>6 Saunen) verschiedene Becken, und einem Wellnessbereich für Familien mit Rutsche Und Kinderbecken usw. ist Top. Das Frühstück ist ok, könnte aber durch einen Service für frische Eierspeisen und einen Kaffeeservice am Tisch noch deutlich aufgewertet werden, deshalb nur 4 Sterne.

Before my stay I called to ask if the spa can be used on the day of the checkout. It was confirmed. At the checkout the receptionist was really unfriendly and started to yell at me that we have to pay 17€ per person extra. Also with the half-board you only can consume 35€. Nobody told me that at the check-in. Disappointing.
