Only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer. Check in was easy, and the hotel grounds were beautiful. The person at the front desk gave us a choice of which floor to be on and that was awesome. The room was beautiful with comfy beds and pillows. We had a private balcony and a view of the pool and hot tub. It was very quiet the night we stayed so noise was not an issue. The hotel offers complimentary fruit and water in the room and coffee in the lobby. Parking was plentiful. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel if you are in the area.
First time at this hotel and loved it. I spend quite a bit of time in Santa Barbara for work and this will now become my new favorite hotel. The room was really cute and comfortable. Hardwood floors, windows to get fresh air, comfortable beds, and nice bathroom. The area was really quiet. Loved this place.
We had a very nice stay there. The location ist perfect. Very close to the State Street, but we only had that day in Santa Barbara, so we took the car. Everything was very clean and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.
Went for a girls weekend with my mom. Room was nice, some rust & grime on shower door, but nothing too bad. Didnt have the "do not disturb" sign on the door & the maid just walks in, no knock on the door, or "hello maid service" or anything. & it was before checkout time....so make sure to have your "do not disturb" sign on the door. Other than that it was nice.

We stayed for UCSB move in weekend. The room was clean and hotel quiet. We were very surprised and pleased about the conplimentary continental breakfast the next morning. It was beyond the usual bear claws - they had waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy, muffins, bagels..and lots of room to sit. For dinner, we found ourselves centrally located to many restaurants including the excellent Los Agaves . Staff was friendly.
Pocket Guide: Santa Barbara Upper State Street Hotels
State Street is the main thoroughfare running the length of Santa Barbara, with Lower State Street the core of tourist activity and Upper State Street the quieter residential and commercial center. Dining, lodging, and shopping opportunities still abound, however, and the rest of Santa Barbara's many cultural attractions and beaches are just a five-minute drive way.
