"Nice accommodations. Wish breakfast was included."
We chose this hotel because it was modern and REALLY close to our sons dorm. We used the small gym and borrowed a couple bikes for a ride along the waterfront.

"Nice amenities for a hotel this size"
We booked somewhat last minute on the advice of a former UW student and her family. We were glad we did. Arriving at the hotel after dark into an unfamiliar area (to us), we weren't sure the area was safe. But everyone made us feel welcome right away. The check-in persons even encouraged us to get some hot cocoa, tea, or coffee from the lobby area as we were checking in. Our room on the fourth floor was next to the elevator, and we were sure we would get no rest. But we never heard a sound--of the elevator or from any of the other guests, even though our room opened out onto the parking lot. The morning vibe brought students walking past the breakfast area/lobby windows, and we realized the place was just fine. The coffee pot area was nicely stocked; there was a fridge! The bottled water, coffee, and tea were all complimentary. Real mugs--not paper cups.

"Visiting University of Washington"
Nothing exceptional, but the location is excellent, only a few blocks from UW campus. The rooms are clean and the staff is helpful. The view from the 7th floor was partially blocked by the UW tower but you don't go there for the view anyway. The coffee shop attached is fine too. Overall nothing bad about it. A simple solid reliable hotel in a good location with some funky decor (and free parking in a very busy area which helps too.) I did not try the restaurant on level B so I can't comment on that.

"Wonderful conference grounds type setting."
Staff is outstanding. Super helpful. The location is fantastic for the University District of Seattle. Wonderful outdoor conference type setting. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but are not Sheraton type. We just need clean, comfortable, home type atmosphere which works for us. Outstanding complimentary Breakfast overlooking a pond with wildlife. We love this place.

"Unusual experience in the U District"
We booked this hotel for an overnight stay, not realizing that it was a Hostel, and that there was no parking! My grandson had an appointment at Children's Hospital the next day so the location looked really great. We were surprised to find that it was the type of establishment that it is. The place is very quaint and the room had large windows and a window seat. Although it has taken me 69 years to do it, I can now say that I stayed in a Hostel. We found a parking lot two blocks away to store our car, and then proceeded to walk around the district. There are 4 floors in this old hotel, and we stayed on the second floor. Luckily, I have no problem doing stairs, as there was no elevator. The rooms are neat and clean, and the bathroom is down the hall. (also neat and clean). Wifi reception was very good in our room. We really had a great time and enjoyed breakfast on the fourth floor the next morning. For a really different experience, try this! People who do this seem to be very respectful and quiet.

"Nice hotel close to the UW campus! Great location"
Nice hotel, but it's showing it's age. Definitely two stars. Breakfast was better than anticipated. Great way to start the day. It was close to the UW campus, which was great since we were visiting and touring with a prospective student. Parking on campus can be difficult and expensive so having a hotel within walking distance was great. We choose to leave the car at the hotel and walk. But make your reservations by calling the hotel directly. Going thru a website will cost you more.

"Great new hotel walking distance to UW"
The hotel is either new or just underwent major renovations, which was wonderful. We stayed in a double queen room, which was shaped like a T. When you entered there was a hallway straight ahead of you with a kitchenette on the left and a blank wall on the right. The bathroom is behind this wall. You then reach the top of the T where there is a desk and couch to the left and two queen beds on the right along with the entrance to the bathroom. Having the beds far from the door was great because we did not hear any noise from the hallway. Though I did not sleep on either of the beds, the bed and linens looked very comfy. I ended up sleeping on the couch due to a snoring issue. It is a sleeper sofa, but I slept on top of the cushions, and it was very comfortable amazingly enough. The bathroom was very spacious with lots of counter space, and the shower was huge. My son is 6'5" and the shower head was tall enough for him. Our only frustration, and it was a big one, was the lack of outlets on the night stand or anywhere close to the beds at all. We figured we must have just been missing the socket, but searched and never found one. This meant we had to leave our phones on the floor at the foot of the bed, in the bathroom, in the kitchenette or on the desk....not a good solution. For breakfast they have the usual items, but also a waffle iron and hot food, which was a little different each day we were there. It included eggs, some sort of potato and a meat.

Pocket Guide: University District, Seattle Hotels with WiFi Hotels

With about 40,000 students, the University of Washington is the area's lifeblood. The campus includes a world-class medical center, the Burke Museum, and Henry Art Gallery. UW's main square offers a clear view of Mount Rainier. West of UW, a Lenin statue watches over Fremont, which bills itself as “The Center of the Universe.” Fremont's low-rise shops and cafés resemble Berkeley and Old New York.
