The interior finishes were less that standard workmanship and layout was awkward No door into a small bathroom and dangerous step-downs. Restaurant was great food and service. Thought the room was overpriced for condition.

We found 4 huge spiders in our cottage within couple hours of checking in. We took pictures but no one was helpful or acknowledge this.

This place was not fit for someone to stay. The room was dirty and had a terrible smell. No proper ventilation either.

We stayed in cabin 4. It was spacious and clean, but felt warm and homey. We wondered if it would feel older and musty - not at all!!! (Other hotels on our vacation included a Garden Inn and Springhill Suites.) We only spent 2 nights and wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the trails, kayaks, and hot tub.

We love the character, convenience, and unique setting. It offers a perfect “pre-Hampton Inn” experience that makes vacation a true getaway.

Enjoyed the grounds which were charming. The cottage was just big enough for 2 adults + 1 toddler, although any smaller and it would be too small. We took 2 kayaks out and it was a blast. Food at the restaurant was very good, although the pub had all of the other customers (no minors allowed). The personal hot-tub just outside was very welcome, although it was unable to keep temperature with the bubbles going. We had some concern about cleanliness of the dishes because guests must clean them with the provided soap, by hand. We wondered if they were cleaned by staff as well. We went down the street to the Alderbrook one evening. If we could afford it, we would stay there next time. Overall, it was a nice experience in between a hotel, and camping.
