The hotel is easy to find across from the train station. And its also easy to find if you get your self turned around. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. The walk to the historical sites was not far and easy. There are shops near by if you forgot anything.

Basic, Clean Hotel Very Close to Train Station
The hotel is across the street from Udine central station. Basic, but very clean and quiet with a comfy bed. Check in was fast and friendly. Breakfast was the typical Italian Colazione. A 10 minute walk to the main square of Udine.

Repeat visit. Location was main reason for choosing this hotel, close to train station for early train next day, but staff was friendly and the included breakfast was very good, rooms were clean and beds comfortable.

Easy access from Udine station. Friendly reception. Clean room with plenty of towels and a range of toiletries. I would stay here again if I went to Udine again.

A hotel that has seen better days, I think. The area was a little sketchy (I am a woman in my 60s and I would not have walked outside the hotel at night), but walk a couple of blocks and it changes dramatically. Overall rundown look. On the plus side staff was great, air conditioning worked, and parking was very convenient. We were supposed to stay two nights and left after one. It is right across from the train station, which might be a plus for some.

near train station which suited my purpose.Despite arriving early was able to check in.Was given a free upgrade to a bigger room.Was given an extra hour to check out.Breakfast was included in a very reasonable room rate. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and provided me with all the info I needed. I was unlucky with the weather-nothing to do with hotel! So overall a very good stay at a value for money rate.

The hotel itself is quite comfortable, not a five-star place but perfectly adequate to the needs of any normal traveler. They offer a hot breakfast, with scrambled eggs, sausage, and bacon along with the cold items, and the staff were quite friendly. The location is right across the street from the main Udine train station and in the same block as the Autostazione (= bus station) -- very convenient, but possibly a little seedy at night. One taxi driver, dropping me off fifty meters from the entrance after midnight, warned me not to stop and talk with the three guys hanging around outside the hotel. (For the record: I didn't stop, and nothing bad happened.)

clean convenient hotel
nice friendly hotel across the street from the train and next to bus station. lots of local city buses to historic centre or 15 minute walk instead. stayed here an extra day.at check-in friendly woman named kata? gave suggestions for other nearby towns to visit so used this hotel as a base for grado aquiliea (by buses).done in one day and cividale(train) (1/2 -1day). in aquilea (small town) try to buy a bus ticket from a tobacco shop or bar .buying ticket on board more expensive and driver was miserable.found it hard to get bus info or schedules at udine station , but grado had great bus schedules. aquilea open air museum so-so but do not miss the main church.

A friendly, personal hotel
The friendly atmosphere in this hotel suggests that it is family run, rather than part of a larger chain. It exceeded my expectations and I would have happily stayed there longer than four nights.

Excellent, friendly service
If you are looking for a luxury hotel this is not it. However, if you enjoy excellent, friendly service, clean comfortable rooms and a convenient location just a few minutes walk from the centre then this is a perfect place to stay. The hotel is set back from the road so it is not affected by traffic noise. The hotel's main asset is its staff who offer impeccable service and a friendly welcome.

Il Principe is across the street from the train station in a neighborhood that doesn't have much going for it, but the hotel has a little courtyard parking lot and is itself set back from the street. Our room was very quiet and spacious with good A/C. The mattresses and pillows were unusually firm. Free wi-fi in the room. The staff was wonderfully helpful and directed us to a restaurant (Ai Fratti) in the old part of town where we had the best meal of our two-week trip. For us Udine was a convenient place to break the drive, but if we were passing through again without question we'd stay at Il Principe.

good quality hotel. clean and comfortable rooms speak very good english and very helpfull staff. let us know bus numbers where to get buses, even when bar didnt have vodka on sale advised us where we could buy it. right beside train station and the bus station where the airport buses drops you off

Amazing value for a great hotel
I stayed for two nights at this hotel, and was extremely happy with my brief stay. The staff speak excellent English if that is a concern, are extremely helpful and very friendly. The breakfast and coffee served in the morning is very nice, and my room was extremely clean and well maintained. The hotel is unmissable from the train station as it is directly opposite, but the building is set back in a courtyard that keeps noise down to a minimum. It's perhaps a ten minute walk to the main sights (piazza della liberta, the castello etc). I would definitely use again on another visit.

Mi sono trovata bene: un plauso al personale cortese e disponibile. L'hotel è molto comodo per chi arriva con il treno in quanto posizionato a pochi passi dalla stazione. L'aspetto negativo è rappresentato dall'area circostante che non è delle migliori soprattutto se ti muovi di sera. Ottima la presenza del personale H 24 che ti garantisce un senso di sicurezza che non guasta.

Un hôtel bien placé dans la ville à un bon prix
Un séjour de 4 nuits en couple pour des visites dans la famille et un peu de tourisme. Avec notre petit chien. Le rapport qualité / prix est intéressant. Prévoir 8€ par jour en plus pour l'animal. Parking public très peu cher (gratuit de 19h à 9h) à quelques centaines de mètres de l'hôtel. Parking possible dans la cour de l'hôtel également 8€ par jour. L'hôtel est très calme (retiré de l'avenue) et bien placé par rapport aux points d'intérêts de la ville. Seul bémol l'environnement (près de la gare routière). Quartier avec quelques immeubles abandonnés. Petit déjeuner continental à volonté inclus. Aucun regret d'avoir choisi cet hôtel. Je recommande.
