Everything was just perfect. The staff was friendly, very accomodating. The property was always kept clean. The breakfast variety was great, we had many choices to pick. The only down is that no basic toiletry was in the room, we needed to go and get shampoo and body wash. Other than that everything was great. Will recomend this hotel

A clean, tidy hotel with a good location for the Torino stadium a short walk away. Good transport facilities to get you out and about.

Hotel Cairo was an outdated hotel in a quiet neighbourhood. The beds were of bad quality and room was very old and outdated. Breakfast was mediocre. Staff was friendly

Good area and very pleasant staff. For some strange reason, air con remote was removed from the room (maybe it was not hot enough to keep it in the room). Bathroom could be cleaner. Overall it was good.

Nice and cosy hotel based in an area of Torino which is well located and well linked to the city centre. Friendly and helpful staff, plenty choice of food and great service at the hotel restaurant for breakfast. We highly recommend it.

Stayed at Hotel Cairo for 8 days and my family was very happy. We like everything about the hotel; food, cleanliness of the rooms and location etc. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Turin.

Only stay for the bed
We had good service when we arrived; however the room was very disappointing. The main picture is not what you get (maybe they've only renovated half the hotel). The shower had black mold and the bed was hard as a rock. The silver lining was they had a really great breakfast with a lot of variety. Location was far from the city center but it's across the street from the metro #4 line so you can get into the heart of the city in 10-15 minutes. There aren't many restaurants or bars within walking distance.

Dirty, not a great location, rude staff.
I arrived at the hotel (note the entry to the foyer has 3-4 steps which is tricky if you have large / heavy luggage). I was greeted by hotel staff that didn't even crack a smile, not a great first impression (or second if you count lugging your bags up the steps without assistance from staff). Checked into the room, upon opening the door a really bad mouldy smell wafted the room! I straight away opened the window to air it out. I then checked the room's cleanliness (because the smell put me off!) There were dead bugs under the bed, the floor had not been mopped or swept (it was tiled - so an easy task). The bathroom sink was missing the plug / silver piece that sits within the drain, and there was hair in the pipes which I could see! (I feel sick remembering it!) I asked the staff to get the room cleaned to a better standard or change the room. They said they will clean it. Which they didn't (when I returned later that day). I was here for 2 nights, didn't get any good service, the staff were rude and unhelpful. I had to ask for the room to be cleaned again, specifically the floor (even left a note in Italian and English to the cleaner) until it was cleaned. This hotel made my experience of a beautiful city much less enjoyable - highly advise to pick a great hotel so you can enjoy your experience whilst traveling.

Nice Hotel
The hotel was nice and staff very friendly. The staff spoke very good English. The room was very clean and tidy and comfortable. The breakfast was good and had variety of options. The wifi in the room was at times slow but managed to get connected ok. Would recommend this hotel if you looking for budget hotel further away from the centre.

Excellent staff and very clean and good hotel
The Staff were great and helpful. The room was clean and pretty suitable for single use. The breakfast was also good and completed by choosing a favorite kind of coffee varieties. The hotel is few meters from tram station so it is easy to go everywhere in city using this cheap transportation. Also, there is a gym and sauna so you can relax after a day full of tiredness.

Maybe "Non-Smoking" Means Something Else
I'll be honest: I booked this hotel because I misunderstood where it was; I thought it was much closer to the center of town. Nevertheless, it turned out to be convenient enough and quite inexpensive. It's not a fancy place, but the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We arrived by car from the airport, but there is a tram stop basically around the corner, so you will be 10 to 15 minutes from Porta Nuova station. Our only real complaint was about the lingering smell of cigarettes in the room. the hotel is officially a non-smoking property, and I can believe that this is true... but this is obviously a recent change. Everything everywhere stank of smoke, and we had to be sure not to even leave our suitcases open so as not to absorb it. If they don't refurbish the rooms and replace the furniture, it will take years for the smell to disappear. If you don't care about that and want a place that is otherwise a good value, then book the Cairo.

Bargain Hotel
Hotel Cairo is a value for money hotel about 15 minutes by tram from the Torino City centre, close to Eataly and a huge shopping centre. The staff are great and the hotel is very clean, though showing some signs of its age in the areas that are yet to be refurbished. The room had everything we needed for our stay but it was very small - this may be an issue if you are travelling with lots of luggage. We booked one of the less expensive rooms so others in the hotel may be better. We were there in August and there was very few restaurants open in the area at that time.

Friendly staff, nice room, very clean , walking distance from bus and tram stop. Tram stops every ten minutes and goes straight to the city center in around 20 minutes. Room was very nice and had air-conditioning. It features a TV with both Italian and foreign channels. It furthermore has a bathroom with shower and toilet. Also had free WIFI in the room. Breakfast is downstairs along with a fitness and sauna room.

I'm a single traveler, stayed there for 3 nights, staff was sunny and with good english. Room was always clean and had wallpaper made of fine textile. A big bed occupied most floor area, as usual (hotel rooms are small in Italy). HVAC was quite powerful. Bathroom was clean, but extremely small sized as usual in Italy. I have thin build, it was OK for me, but this may pose a problem for 6ft+ tall or full-sized americans. Shower head grew out of the wall and was totally fixed in place, which is inconvenient if you have to care for a recent wound, etc. The tramline no.4 which connects this hotel to city center runs frequently, but slowly during workday hours, due to many red traffic lights. During night it runs quickly, but very seldom (15-25 mins frequency). One week or 3 days of all-Turin public transport ticket costs suprisingly little even for my shallow pocket. Hotel Cairo's large -1 floor level hall offers only breakfast from 7-10am, which is a waste of resources IMHO. They should offer some kind of a soup-kitchen for evening , as the nearest recommendable trattoria is 2 tram stops from hotel and nearest kebab-pizzeria is 1 tram stop. If you stay out late in Turin city center to eat at the end of your sightseeing, expect long wait for the tram no.4 and the areas around Porta Nuova railway station are not very secure (so called multi-ethnic). I think Hotel Cairo should team with a nearby restaurant to offer in-house supper, even if with limited menu selection.

Affordable hotel with all the comforts
This hotel stay was booked last minute but turned out to be a great experience. From the excellent gym and outstanding breakfast to polite and easy check-in and comfortable upgraded room. All was nicely presented and seemed really well thought through.

I can echo many of the positive comments in other reviews. Everything is clean, the Wi-Fi is good with a strong signal in our room on the 3rd floor. The breakfast is good with a nice variety and staff to provide you with a freshly made cappuccino. Our room was small but reasonably priced. The bathroom and shower are also quite small. The location is near Lingotto so if you stay here you must visit that building and go to Eataly. The tram runs on the street just in front of the hotel so it is quite easy to get into central Turin and to the main train station, Porta Nuova.

Visit To Torino
When visiting Torino ( Turin), Italy, Hotel Cairo is a very reasonabley priced hotel located to nearby tramline to the city center, grocery stores, Gallery 8 shopping mall, and local neighborhood restaurants. The staff is extremely helpful and speak very good English. The hotel and rooms are very clean and nicely incorporated. Guest information is well organized and posted in several languages. There is a breakfast buffet with wide variety of food each morning. We would definitely rebook a stay at this hotel.
