"Excellent Hotel in Tulum Town"
There are 2 main tourist areas in Tulum; hotels along the beach road, going south from the Tulum Ruins, and more economical options in the town itself. The town is only about 2 km from the beach (70 pesos by taxi). LiveTulum is on the northern edge of the town, in a reasonably quiet area 1 block from the main road. It is a short walk to several restaurants, and the dining in town is generally much cheaper than the beach areas. There is also shopping along the main road. The hotel is newer than most in town, so fixtures are modern and things are pretty spotless right now. The in-room AC is a modern split system, very quiet with a remote control. The room has a mini-fridge and safe. The staff is very friendly and willing to offer suggestions for things to do. The included breakfast is quite nice. There are cold cuts, cheese, cereal, milk, juice, cut fruit, scrambled eggs, beans, bananas, toast, coffee and tee. They have a juicer and oranges if you want to fresh-squeezed juice. No restaurant on site, but there are plenty of dining options a few minutes away. They have beach towels to borrow, and there is an onsite pool with loungers. It's a 20-30 minute walk to the ruins, but the hotel also has bikes to borrow (deposit required). There are convenience and grocery stores close by to stock up on beverages and snacks. Our impression is that this is one of the nicer hotels in town, and we would definitely stay there again if in Tulum.
