This was my fourth New years eve staying at the hotel. First year ...... service was AWFUL second year..... much better third year....... outstanding this year has reverted back to being atrocious again. Im so disappointed as I look forward to my time away only for it to be spoiled by poor service! Even at check in , there was no one present for ages... I was just standing there ( as were other residents)awaiting a receptionist. When I got to the room, the room was absolutely FREEZING. It took ages for it to warm up. Another complaint I have is the lack of seating in the bar on NYE. For heavens sake it is one of the busiest nights of the year. All hands should be on deck , working away like bees. I will add here that there is one OUTSTANDING worker. Her name is Lisa and she is the hardest working person on the team. Absolutely brilliant and deserves a mention. ( and a medal!) Yes there was staff present but lacked training ( how hard is it to clean a table or pick up a chip from the floor!) interest and motivation. I know people may ask why I bother going back! MW has an appeal and an atmosphere that is hard to beat. Breakfast is beautiful and rooms are nice. Spa is lovely and pool is pleasant. I wish MW would review their staff and previously high standards and put a plan and trained staff in place to deal with the masses at peak calendar times.
