Ground Floor: Living room: Smart TV, Woodburner Dining room. Kitchen: Electric Oven, Electric Hob, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine Living room 2: (No TV), Day Single (3Ft) Bed Separate Toilet. First Floor: Bedroom 1: Kingsize (5ft) Bed Ensuite: Cubicle Shower, Toilet Bedroom 2: Double (4ft 6in) Bed Bedroom 3: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included, remainder at cost. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate. . Lawned, tiered garden with garden furniture and BBQ. Bike store. Private parking for 4 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are 5 steps in the garden.. This lovely detached farmhouse, located on a working sheep and dairy farm, is marked on an Ordnance Survey map dating back to 1834 but probably dates back further. Developed and extended in the early 1900s it’s a traditional farmstead that has now been renovated and restored and provides characterful holiday accommodation. Accessed via a long farm drive, you arrive on to the farmyard, with only very occasional farm vehicles passing through, and the house is in front of you. Inside there are beams, traditional cottage style doors, original tiled floors and a brick fireplace housing the lovely wood burner in the living room. The owners have carefully decorated, furnished and accessorised the farmhouse in keeping with a contemporary country feel. You get a real sense of cosiness when you walk through the door, but there’s plenty of space for families or friends to spread out. The country kitchen has a breakfast table and there’s also a separate dining room for more formal affairs. In addition to the comfortable living room there’s a snug across the hallway complete with a day bed, books, toys and games; ideal for youngsters to chill out in. There’s a ground floor toilet and upstairs a family bathroom shared between a zip and link twin bedroom with additional single bed and double room. The master bedroom has its own en-suite shower room. Outside there’s a rear lawned cottage garden and to the front there are views over the fields and countryside. If there are children in your party, then bed linen with a children’s theme is available on request. Tregaron was once an important place for gathering livestock for the farms to take their animals across the mountains and along ancient tracks to the markets in England. The dramatic Abergwesyn mountain road was originally the first stage of the farmer’s route. Today Tregaron is a centre for ’Trotian’, horse trotting and carriage racing, and the annual summer event attracts competitors from all over the UK and Ireland. It is also home to the Welsh Gold Centre which sells Celtic inspired designs. The town has all the amenities you will need including an inn and restaurant, renowned in the area. Also close by to Pengraig and just outside the town you can explore the Cors Caron National Nature Reserve, where you can walk through the vast wetlands and bogs on waymarked boardwalks and visit the large observation centre where you can have a stunning view of the landscape and wildlife. If you’re bringing your bikes, cyclists will love the easy access to a 6km section of the Ystwyth Trail. Make sure you find time to visit Strata Florida, preserved Middle Age ruins of a Cistercian monastery and church. Whether you would like to learn about the history and stories, explore the countryside, or take a moment for quiet reflection and inspiration, there is plenty to do. Slightly further afield, but still extremely easy to visit for a day out, you can explore the delights of coastal Ceredigion, including 60 miles of coastal path, sandy beaches, quiet coves and pretty seaside towns including Aberaeron, New Quay and Aberystwyth. We have had a perfect stay at pengraig. The cottage has everything you need and very good quality furniture, comfy beds and a great kitchen, and a fantastic wood burning stove. The location is very remote, which was ideal for us. The kids had a great time exploring the grounds around the house and saying hello to the sheep, cows and rabbits, in the safety of being well up from the main road. (The stars from here are breathtaking. There is no light pollution in any direction.) But the village of Tregaron has everything you need just 5 mins down the road. Beautiful region with wide open spaces, forests, mountains, rivers...just perfect for nature lovers. Would love to stay again in the future! We have a lovely stay at Pengraig . The Cottage was warm and welcoming . Being able to let the dog straight out into the grounds was great . Our boys loved the isolation of it , walking along the dark lanes with their torches at night .The cottage was equipped , the bedrooms were all very cosy and comfortable beds. The location is stunning - right in the heart of the countryside with excellent views and beautiful hills to explore on the doorstep. Your only neighbours for the week are the farm’s sheep, and it’s so lovely and quiet. The cottage itself is fantastic - everything has been thought about and there was nothing we needed that we didn’t find there. The decor and furnishings are all lovely, and you can see that a lot of care has gone into making it really cosy, with great attention to detail. The log fire in the living room makes it even more cosy! Lots of space - much more than I had thought from looking at the photos beforehand. The owners were great - really accommodating with arrival times, and also went to the trouble of posting us back something we’d left behind at the house - above and beyond!
