Nice hotel for Kids. WiFi Challenges
Fine stay at this well located hotel in Favignana. We stayed at this hotel as a couple. While it's well located and the staff is very friendly and helpful, it's much more of a hotel for families. As an example, the pool is only open until 7pm and you must wear a bathing cap to swim in it. Also, our room had no WiFi. Pros: Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, especially Marco who was very kind and did a lot of work helping us arrange taxis and excursions Well located in the center of town and convenient to everything Family friend place that's fun for kids (if you're traveling as a family) - lots of activities and entertainment for kids Restaurant is excellent - delicious fresh seafood prepared very well. Cons: Not couple friendly - swimming caps must be worn in the pool which is teaming with children. Pool closes at 7pm. There are large, loud music events at night. There was no Wifi in our room #9E though the listing here states "in room WiFi". This made our stay inconvenient and difficult during moments when I had to work. When we asked the front desk we were told the WiFi works closer to the center of the hotel, near the pool and restaurant, so we needed to leave our room to use it. Our room 9E was quite small The hotel could use some love - the fixtures in the bathroom were corroded, with a blueish rust-like color. Conclusion - I believe this hotel is best for families looking for a well-priced and entertaining place to stay with children or teens.

Spacious airy studio room on first floor above reception. Comfortable queen bed. Spotlessly clean. Good walking and bike access to town and across the island. 5 mins walk to Piazza Madrice. Helpful staff. Good choice for my needs but a couple of real gripes / as a single business type traveller. Firstly WiFi. Poor is an understatement. Non-existent indoors you have to go out to pool or cafe area to access. Then there’s the matter of speed. Can’t be much more than dial up. Badly needs an upgrade - probably wouldn’t stay again if it wasn’t - I need to keep in touch with business and investments regularly. No glasses or kitchen utensils which seems a bit odd as the studio contained a fridge unit and a small kitchenette. You can make tea or coffee but there are no plates, bowls, or anything kitchen related aside an electric kettle and a tea pot and a couple of cups. Oh and a corkscrew. I’d have liked to see a bit more offered. Third remark. Hospitality took away both the large bath towels without replacing them fresh. Made do but shouldn’t really have to make do.....

Nice little resort but issues with pool
Nice little resort. It's actually a timeshare but that does not really make a difference. The restaurant is very good and location is excellent. Main issue is the pool. First it's closed during lunch time and closes again at 7pm. Secondly, they require the use of a swimming cap (€2) which is a bit ridiculous nowadays. Never in a hotel have I seen the need for a swimming cap. Finally, it's important to know they organise all day long animations for kids and adults with loud music. So don't expect a relaxing silent stay at the pool. The room is spacious with efficient AC. The bathroom is a bit outdated. There are not many options for hotels in Favignana so this one remains one of the top regardless.

The property is okay. In no way special. The grounds are small and only outdoor area is around the pool. All the rooms face the small pool. There is loud, local pop music blasting from 10 am to 1 pm and 4 to 7 pm. There is no way to escape it, Forget about relaxing in your room as you will hear the pounding music even if your windows are closed. There is forced adult and kids animation (entertainment) while the pool is open, making it impossible to relax or have a conversation.

Location is great it's a five minute walk to shopping/restaurants. The staff was helpful, allowed us to check-in early, arranged for us to get electric bikes one day to ride around the island. We had a suite with a kitchenette, it was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had all the essentials to be comfortable but some might think it's a bit basic. We couldn't try the restaurant as it was always closed when we were around. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a low key relaxing place to recharge for a few days.

Great Choice
From check in to departure, we were not let down by the Cala la Luna resort. Great check in, informative regarding the resort and it’s amenties. Room was spacious, with terrace. (stayed in the studio), working kitchen, fridge freezer, all crockery and cutlery supplied. There is a supermarket around 5 minutes away walking. The restaurant on site is slightly in the expensive side, comparing to the average of restaurants on the island, but you will not be disappointed. Quality of the food and wine was brilliant. Situated a short 5 minute walk from the centre, while also around a 15 minute walk to the nearest beach. Able to rent scooters and bikes in site if walking isn’t for you. Something to consider, pool opens at around 9.30 am, and is closed for around 2 hours in the afternoon. Overall clean, friendly and great place to stay.

Location is ok but a long walk to ferry. Hotel needs to think about providing a shuttle service. Staff at reception where not friendly. Breakfast was good. Room was fine however we were given a double room for 3 adults Third wascexpected to sleep on very small roll away. Problem was rectified after some discussion Overall ok but will look for other accomodation next time.

Beautiful place and great location
The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The restaurant bar was very nice and comfortable. Our room was clean and modern. The location was great and we rented motor scooters through the front desk. The scooter company picked us up at Cala La Luna and we were able to travel all over the island. Highly recommended. The only problem were mosquitos at night, all of us got bit.

loved it!
loved this place! definitely recommend a stay here if you visit Sicily. Spent our days riding bikes around the island and through quaint villages. Stopped for a swim at beautiful beaches around the island and visited an old tuna factory which was fascinating!

The best hotel resort in Favignana. Wonderful!
Cala la luna is one of the most wonderful hotel/resort I have ever been to! Not only favignana is one of the best island I have ever seen, but this hotel is the best! Very nice apartments only 5 minutes from the center of town, the apartments have hotel service, including daily change of towels and cleaning. All the rooms/ apartments have a full stocked kitchen, that includes microwave as well. They are furnished with good quality pieces, and they all have a private patio or a balcony, overlooking the pool, where you can relax and have a drink, breakfast or even dinner! They also offer a baby club and evening shows. There is a very good restaurant on the premises, probably one of the best of the island. Wifi is free and works fine. From the upstairs apartments there is a beautiful view on the Santa caterina monastery. If you go to Favignana this is the place to be!

Great hotel by the centre!
Great hotel close to the centre and the ferry port. We had a very pleasant stay in Cala la Luna and I would definitely recommend. We had a very spacious room with a fully equipped kitchen and a great balcony overlooking the pool. The hotel is 5 min walk to the beautiful and characteristic city centre! Special thanks to Flávio the bar manager for looking us after!

Favignana itself is amazing - the resort is clean and well run and the staff are charming helpful and delightful. I booked very late and was glad to get the room - but the resort wouldn't have been my first choice.

Didn't expect that. For the money we paid we expected a but of luxury. Apartment was a good size but the actual bedroom was very cramped and could hardly walk around the bed. This made it very stuffy. Our apartment was pool side and there was loud music pretty much all day. Was like being at butlins. The clientele didn't seem to be of that sort. I would not return and wouldn't recommend unless you like noise. Luckily it was within walking distance if the town and our favourite part was hiring bikes to get out! Wifi was very slow but then it often wasn't there at all. Expected more for the expense.

Perfect hotel!!!!!!!
This hotel is absolutely amazing!! I have stayed here 3 times and will stay here every vacation to Favignana. The staff are wonderful and have always helped me with every question I have. They always have a smile on their face and seem to really enjoy having us there. They have gone out of their way to help accomate my every need at every stay. You can rent bikes onsite and if you want to rent a scooter they will call someone to come pick you up to go rent them in town. It is right by the city center and can walk right to town for dinner if you do not choose to eat at their own amazing restaurant. The breakfast is the best spread of any hotel I have stayed in Italy. I love this hotel!

STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!
This was the best hotel that I have stayed at in my life. It is also in the best location because you can walk their from the boat port. The people here are really nice and like to give you free food and drinks. If you have any questions, they love talking to you and helping you out to include walking downtown and buying wine with you. This should be the hotel you pick to stay out because you can bike ride to all the best parts of the island and still be close to downtown. It is a 3 minute walk from downtown which means you hear no noises when at the hotel which is also gated with a awesome pool and bar. The restaurant served the best food and I highly recommend you eat at the hotel for dinner every night!

The rooms were spacious, spotless and comfortable. Air con was very welcome. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The facilities were fantastic and the entertainment staff kept everyone happy from the children to the adults. Great place to relax with a family.

The best hotel In favignana, best location as well
You can t go wrong with cala la Luna. It s a very nice resort, all the apartments are very well furnished and the kitchen is equipped with everything you may need. The staff is very kind and helpful and the position is perfect. Andrea and valeria will do anything for you, they are such a help if you need anything! The hotel is located Just few hundred yards from the best beaches and so close to the centre. The best way to visit the island is to rent a bike and just pedal around. You also need to go on a boat trip to visit all the beautiful coves, where the water is crystal clear, and you can snorkel. Look for Rocco, he used to be one of the fisherman of La Mattanza, and now he can show you the island from his boat, telling you all the legends on favignana, while at the same time cooking a wonderful meal on the boat for you! Enjoy favignana, one of the best island in the world!

A really great place
This was a great hotel, good service, extremely clean and only a short bike ride to the nice beaches and the main town. The only drawback is the all-day entertainment. It can start quite early and finish quite late, we were out exploring the island most of the time but if it's peace you are after mabe this place isn't for you!!! I still highly recommend it to those who don't mind a bit of clowning around by a few fools at the pool!

Cala La Luna - lovely apartments around sunny pool
We only stayed for one night, but my impression was this: The apartment complex was elegant in white and blue, all apartments (?) nicely set around a pool area of one larger and one small pool ( we were there in april, som not open yet, even though we were permitted to use them "at our own risk", which we did not, because of the weather. The apartments had a little private terrass, were spacious, light and very appealing, a double bed with no "whole" between the matresses but an even surface, separate air conditioners/heaters in bed room and living room/kitchen, were the sofa bed was. We did not use the kitchen, so can't really comment on it, but there was a small freezer compartment inside the refrigerator. Staff was friendly and even though we were the only guests (?) they took an interest in offering us some kind of breakfast even though not included in the price, they made a decent small buffet just for the two of us, at the reduced rate of 6 euros each (normal = 10 euro). We hired a 50 cc scooter, included two helmets, for 16 euros (per day, april 2011) at the immediate exit of the pier. Would like to warn you about negligent service and unreasonable prices for what you get at the restaurant NAUTILUS, where we waited for 5-10 minutes each time we tried to contact the staff to get coffee or pay. three thin slices of egg plant and three of squash = 6 euros april 2011, (to go with the fish). The personnel were more interested in talking to each other and watchin local TV on a large screen (note, we were there in low season, not many people at all there. Not like they were busy!).

Ho soggiornato tre notti in una camera doppia con vista sulla piscina. La camera è molto spaziosa e dotata anche di angolo cottura, nel caso si volesse cucinare qualcosa. Bagno grande e molto pulito. Colazione molto varia e con un'offerta di ottime torte.

Una struttura comoda, a pochi passi dal centro del paese. Vicino ai locali della vita notturna ma fuori dalla calca. Offre il servizio di noleggio bici. Camera ampia e luminosa. Il personale ha fornito ottime indicazioni e consigli sui luoghi da visitare.

Struttura fornita di ogni confort, con un eccellente e puntuale sistemaziine e pulizia del mini alloggio.Essendo anche villaggio ha animatori ma le porte sono ben insonorizzate e risulta piacevole anche questo servizio.La location é in una posizione strategica, i market, il centro e il porto sono raggiungibili in 5-15 minuti di camminata.Ma e' possibile afffittare anche biciclette direttamente alla reception/possibilita' del posto macchina per chi come me era automunita. Bar ben fornito per la colazione o per un drink.
