Outdated and in need of repair!

Thankfully only stayed overnight whilst on a business trip. The room was old, dated and in desperate need of repair. The air con and room had a very damp mildew smell. Bathroom was also dated and need of repair. The pictures do not match what you get!!!!!! The room was definitely not designed for the business traveller as the work desk could hardly fit a laptop, yet alone the lamp on the desk! Being an IHG member also meant nothing and the front desk staff seemed to not care, when all these issues were raised with them.

close to great Restaurants, sunday market is right out front, hotel staff were all awesome and very helpful , had a fantastic holiday!...very relaxing would definitely stay here again

Pros: The room was very comfortable and the location
Location: The location was important to us, near the bus stop, close to supermarket and in the main street.
The staff were extremely helpful from check in to room service and house cleaning. I was having trouble setting the radio alarm when our room service arrived, we were eating our dinner when the front desk rang and asked if we would like an early morning call as the staff member had noticed my difficulty and mentioned it fantastic to see a team work so well together.

It was a nice, comfortable and clean room. And staff was very polite and helpful. Definitely I would choose the holiday Inn again for our next stay in Townsville.

Centrally located

Pros: Great bed, nice breakfast, good location
Location: Bars, restuarants, cinema easy walking distance from hotel
Large room with a very comfortable king size bed. We were on the 14th floor and due to the circular shape or the building we had a great unrestricted view. The pool is on the top floor and has a great view. A great buffet breakfast with unlimited hot food, cereal & fruit. They have a great coffee machine.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, great location

Had a lovely stay in this hotel, have stayed before and had just as pleasing an experience then as well. The staff are so welcoming, the rooms really comfortable and the breakfast is great.

Street beggers everytime you go outside

Pros: the chicken parma
This hotel does not have its own parking. When you park on the street and go to check it at night homeless people are drinking and fighting. Dont try and go for an early morning walk across the river bridge the itinerants gather there. Did not like going outside at night with kids. The basin in the bathroom had chunks of vomit under the fixed push down plug from the previous guest. Room service kids meal (battered fish with tartare) came as crumbed fish with tomato sauce, kids can be fussy enough to feed. Would never stay again.

It was ok for an overnight stay There is no Internet for free and room service has a fee and paying by credit card has a fee

Unfortunately our internet is currently on complimentary to our IHG Rewards Club members - a program that is free to join. I do apologise for any inconvenience caused. Visa and Mastercard credit card transactions do incur a fee 1.5% with Amex and Diners a 3% fee. The hotels.com website does state that ''Onsite credit card charges are subject to an extra charge''. great for an overnight stay in the CBD

Pros: location, staff, price
Cons: Room decor was a bit dated
Location: we stayed here to attend a work night out held in Flinders street, so location wise was perfect for us.
Good experience, check in and out went very smoothly and quickly, room was fine, staff were great and the buffet breakfast was definately worth it. Would recommend if looking for a stopover night in the city.
