Lovely stay! Perfect location for getting into Northampton for the theatre, taxi information was readily available at reception so didn’t even have to ask for it. Had a lovely room with 2 comfortable double beds. Had food & drinks, which was really tasty. Staff were lovely. Would recommend & will stay here again next time.

Perfectly nice
Was at a conference at the university. The hotel is in walking distance along a nice path by the river. Although it is a half hour walk and not lit at night, which I was happy to do. The hotel is showing its age, but nothing wrong with it and it is tidy and clean. We had a large room (200) that was very nice as I had to work during the day. Although we could hear the lift motor over night as we were in the room underneath. Again this didn't bother me too much and was specific to the room we had. I didn't ask to be moved

Staying at this Holiday Inn was my best decision ever. The service was first class, the staffers were the friendliest I've seen - especially in this era of deteriorating customers service everywhere. The staff went above and beyond to give us value for our money. I can't even imagine myself staying elsewhere if I'm in Northampton. Best in everything. I love this place!

Poor by hotels.com
My main complaint was to Hotels.com as it became apparent that the hotel doesn’t really take many bookings through the site and do bookings.com instead so when I arrived they couldn’t find my booking at all. This took almost 15 minutes. In the end they had to just create a new booking. The room was fine in general except for the uncomfortable mattress so I didn’t have the best sleep.

Worst hotel stay ever
Hotel itself was ok but very large. There was a wedding on and around a dozen children thought it was great fun to run along the corridors banging on all the doors. We complained several times which made them target our room even more! We eventually got moved to a room on the second floor but the kids ended up there too banging and kicking the doors. They were running along the corridors until 11pm. Totally unacceptable. All reception would say was sorry. Definitely would not recommend and will NEVER stay there again. Breakfast was good in the morning with plenty of choice. The only good thing about our stay. Holiday Inn should be ashamed not to have done more to stop this behaviour as we werent the only ones complaining.

10 out of 10 dog friendly hotel ❤️ We booked a three night break at this hotel to attend our daughter’s graduation. Check in was really easy and super friendly with lots of cuddles for our very excited dog 🥰 We reserved a suite which offered lots of space for our party of 3 adults with 2 double beds and a large lounge area which had a couple of sofas (one was a sofa bed). The room was really clean and smelled lovely. There is a small fridge in the room with complementary bottled water and snacks. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty to choose from. Restaurant staff were lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. We also ordered room service for dinner which arrived in no time and was delicious. Big thanks to Laura (hotel manager) and her team for making us so welcome. We would have no hesitation in staying here again, it’s a gem ❤️

The food from the restaurant was good both dinner and breakfast but it was our room that let down our stay the heating what's not working and it led to my feet getting wet in the middle of the night from a soaking white carpet. The bath plug didn't work and also the heater that they gave us to plug in. We plugged it into a socket and it started to spark.

Not for the first time at a holiday inn !! Heater didn’t work so had to ask for Mobile heater to put some warmth in room , only Luke warm all nite !! Ordered and payed for queen sized bed …. Only got standard bed

Hotel is tired and need refurbishment. Air conditioner/ heater leaked constantly leaving the carpet soaked, stained and made the room smell! My key car needed reprogramming every day. On positive side, staff are great

This hotel is distinctly average. My first room absolutely stank of cigarette smoke so I had to move rooms, the second was actually quite cold and there was a draft coming thru the windows. That said, the staff are this hotels main asset! The duty manager, the young girl at the bar and the chef were all extremely pleasant and personable and IHG should recognise this.
