We arrived early and our room was not available so the staff stored our luggage, gave us an umbrella to use and recommend a place for lunch. We came back to a wonderful room and were able to relax and sleep very well to continue on our journey the next day. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Toulouse may be best known for its aerospace industry and educational establishments, but it still makes an excellent destination for a family-friendly break. Not only are there plenty of city-based attractions for the entire family to enjoy, it’s also well-placed for exploring the wider delights of the rural Midi-Pyrenees.
Family-friendly hotels are easy to find in Toulouse, so search Expedia to narrow down the extensive range and find the right choice for you. Pick a hotel near the River Garonne to take advantage of water-based activities such as kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding. Or opt to stay near the space-focused Cité de l’espace theme park and museum, which offers many futuristic exhibits, including an IMAX cinema and full-scale models of rockets, space stations and modules. And if you need to stay close to the airport, many of the nearby hotels offer great kid-friendly facilities like outdoor pools, playgrounds and crèches.
Family groups may also want to consider booking an extended-stay apartment hotel for a little more space and privacy. These come in a variety of configurations, from studios with additional sofa beds, to one-, two- or three-bedroom apartments with separate kitchens and living areas. Best of all, you’ll still get access to the hotels’ other amenities such as swimming pools, laundry facilities and kids’ clubs, ensuring you get the best of both worlds.
Not far from Toulouse are some of the most scenic parts of France, including the Parc Naturel Régional des Pyrénees Ariégeoises and the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut-Languedoc. Here, you can try your hand at fun activities like rafting, lake swimming or cycling, and explore hilltop castles and ruined monasteries in the nearby villages. Also not far from Toulouse are some of the best small cities and towns in south-west France, like Albi, Montauban, Castres and Carcassonne, where you can visit the ancient citadel on a miniature train.
Whatever kind of adventure you’re seeking, you’re sure to find a family-friendly hotel in Toulouse to suit your needs.
