Breakfast was included, the rooms were clean and all the staff were pleasant and friendly. The pool and the lounge area were lovely and the hotel was just a stone's throw away from The Balcon, restaurants, bars and shopping. Definitely a good, overall experience and a quiet hotel that I would recommend.

This hotel is an absolute gem! Friendly, welcoming and approachable staff. Super, super clean - not only that but it smells lovely! Good selection and plentiful breakfast. The location could not have been better - right in the heart of the Balcon de Europe area. We loved Nerja and this charming hotel was delightful. It was recommended to us and I would whole heartedly recommend to others.

Breakfast was well worth the extra cost. The rooftop pool area was much bigger/better than anticipated. Excellent room (116) - great bed and shower. As for parking, if you dont want to pay Euro20 per day, suggest you park in the underground car park right next to the hotel, check in then get directions for the free car park (which is only a 5 minute walk away from reception and park there.

The hotel is in a good location close to shops, bars and restaurants. The rooftop sun terrace with plunge pool is spacious and private. The continental buffet style breakfast is good and the hotel has a high standard of cleanliness.

A gem of a hotel
Selfishly I hesitate to praise this hotel too highly in case it gets even more popular! Absolutely everything about Puerta del Mar is excellent. Location, cleanliness, comfort, friendliness of staff, everything. We had superior comfort rooms therefore I'm unable to attest to the other rooms. We will certainly return.

This was my second stay at the hotel. I was very impressed the first time, now there has been wonderful improvements, with rooms updated, as well as new dining room, and roof terrace. The cleanliness is excellent, all staff are very professional and helpful. The breakfast is basic, self service, plenty of choice and enough to suit everyone’s taste. Tea and coffee available in bedrooms. I found it noisy during the night, with tradesmen working, but one has to weigh up the convenience of being near to beach, restaurants, and other amenities.

Excellent central hotel.
Lovely small hotel in centre of Nerja. Great roof terrace with plunge pool. Stayed in a superior room which was modern and spotlessly clean. Hotel is well located minutes from the Balcon de Europa and lots of choice for food and nearby beaches. Great value too!

Second stay in 2 years.
The main thing to say is that the location is excellent. We have stayed at this hotel before but in a Superior Room instead of the Standard Room this time. Based on the room sizes stated I was surprised that the Standard room was much smaller in reality (the building has rooms of varying sizes in the same category). The Standard Rooms are also rather old fashioned whilst the Superior are much more chic and have walk in showers not showers over the bath like the Standard ones. Having said that the shower over the bath was powerful just hard for me to get out of due to a bad hip. The pool terraces are good and there was always space. There was a kettle in the room but no tea or coffee facilities - not sure if this is normal or a Covid measure.The mini bar was empty - probably a Covid measure - but that suited us as we could store our own beer and wine. Breakfast was in 2 sittings to avoid too many people in the breakfast room at once and worked well. We would stay again but it would have to be a Superior room.
