Vrbo Property

Adults-only chalet in Torquay
In preparation for your stay and the 'new normal', we have made changes to our cleaning protocols in line with HomeAway recommendations.
Please be assured that between each guest stay, the cottage will have been subjected to a rigorous deep clean to ensure the highest possible levels of cleanliness.
We are also providing anti-bacterial soap for your use.

The former stable and store has been tastefully updated to provide modern accommodation in a perfect rural setting. Nestled in between Torquay and Teignmouth, The Stable @ Rosemary Cottage is a one double bedroom holiday accomodation that's both cosy and enormously inviting. The stable has been renovated specifically as a holiday retreat with everything you need for a great Devon getaway.

The clever open plan layout of this property means that everything is on hand from the smart kitchen*, the dining area or watching TV from the comfy sofa. The master bedroom has a welcoming double bed and all the storage space (wardrobe/ chest of drawers) you will need to keep your swimming costume, hiking clothes or relaxing 'comfy holiday clothes'.
*NB: It should be noted that cooking is only via microwave/ toaster and the outdoor covered electric BBQ.
A smart modern shower room has been provided - what better way to wind down after a busy (or lazy day) than with a hot shower.

You have your own enclosed garden area with a table and chairs that make it a tempting place to pass a couple of hours. The covered electric BBQ is a perfect place to cook your meals 'al fresco'. Its a quick and easy way to cook - with instant heat. This is also a fine spot from which to soak up the views under the warm summer sun or enjoy a glass of something on those balmy evenings.

Parking is on a private drive at the side of the cottage. Given the rural location wi-fi is not currently available at the property.

A short walk away is the highly rated Church House Inn village pub in the centre of one of South Devon's most picturesque villages of Stokeinteignhead, with its thatched cottages and rural atmosphere. Opposite the pub is the volunteer run village shop to enable you to stock up on essential supplies and local produce. Next door is Haffod Farm with a small farm shop selling organic eggs (tip - get the extra large ones!).
There are also many outdoor activities within the area including horse riding, golf and kayaking to name a few.

The stable is situated in an ideal location, whether you wish to make a short trip to the seaside or make it an active day on the South West Coast Path. You are just a few miles away from the spectacular views and walks on Dartmoor. For those who want some retail therapy you are close to the historic city of Exeter, the market town of Newton Abbot and the famous Torquay English Riviera and harbour.

Rooms open to patios. Bathrooms include a shower.
The recreational activities listed below are available either on-site or nearby; fees may apply.

Beautiful getaway in the countryside. Neil was the most amazing host and made us feel so welcome!

5/5 Excellent

Excellent get-away location
Great relaxing 4 night stay at the stables despite the weather, Neil and Charlie made us feel very welcome. Situated in a quiet village location about midway between Teignmouth and Torquay. The Stables is a great location to explore the Torbay area, nearby Dartmoor and Plymouth. The property was is equipped and maintained to a high standard. Would definitely return if we are in the area in the future.

5/5 Excellent

Excellent stables stay
Had a fantastic 3 night stay at the stables. Excellent location close to all that the Torbay area has to offer. We are keen walkers and the south coast path was just a stones throw away with some amazing views. The property itself was great with everything you need. Loved the outdoor covered area with the electric bbq. The owner Neil was always available and helpful with hints about the local area. Also thanks to Charlie the lovely dog. All in all fantastic break.

idillic Devon break
Lovely property with amazing views from the window. Really comfortable covered seating cooking area which again enjoyed the wonderful views. Really couldn't fault the property or its location which was about 15 minutes walk to a lovely pub and sweet cove and a short drive from other beauty spots. Would highly recommend. Thank you very much Neil and Charlie for making us feel so at home. Sharon and Ray
