Small clean private room in old converted Victorian style house. Bring a kettle or coffee maker, spoon etc for morning coffee but has small fridge and microwave

Great location and good value for money. Clean. Bed was a little uncomfortable, but overall we were pretty happy with the room. Wifi was good.

For the price it was great. Close to downtown. We were able to walk everywhere. Near shopping, restaurants and museums. Owner was nice and discreet. Also what was nice is that we were able to park the car in the back of is house ,we left the car there and walk all around.

I liked the changing of the towels every two days. The fridge and microwave came in handy. I liked the layout of the room. Only problem was air-conditioning. I should have asked to turn it down or for another blanket. I was often cold, but then I just need layered up and I was fine.

Previously great, and now "NOT SO GREAT!"
Having stayed here before, I was surprised that this return visit would be so different. I was pleasantly surprised by a room upgrade (despite the price being $30 than when I booked the same room 6 months ago!). On this visit, we experienced an issue with other guests that were violating the NO-Smoking policy and had taken it to themselves to use Cannabis in the room next to us, and were shouting the entire first night. The second and third nights, we found that our room was not cleaned at all, and not even the garbage was removed. The walls were so thin that you could hear the people in the adjacent rooms all night. Overall, while I had given Ada's Guesthouse a great rating previously, I cannot say the same for this last visit.

Old Toronto with Experience.
The stay was great. The staff very friendly and helpful.The manager was very accommidateing. I was born in Toronto so I know the area can be unsafe, but if you do go south 2 blocks that is the area to stay away from.

Steve and Gary are the hosts of the property , they are great and accommodating. We stayed in room 4 , it had a little kitchen, the room was clean , the house is nice and quiet , we got to park in the back the only issue was the bed it sinks to the floor , so not the most comfortable bed . I love that the windows open for fresh air. We stayed 3 nights and had a great time as always in Toronto . We would stay at Ada's again,. thanks for the great room at Ada's much appreciated . Wi-Fi worked great and good TV channels , loved that our room had a bathtub

It was very basic, the bed was not very comfortable and there was no dryer in the bathroom. They give you coffee mugs but no coffee. This place is ok for one night but if you have to stay for longer then I suggest book a little more comfortable place.

Horrible scary place. This is worst than a cheap motel. The room, place and the furniture are so horrible with stains and really bad condition. I got there at night and was scared to even get inside, but unfortunately I didn't have option to stay anywhere else that late night. I couldn't sleep whole night thinking someone might break in in that place. The bed was so bad with stains on the sheet, stains on the carpet and bathroom was horrible. Its not even worth for free stay and they charged me $89.59 for one night and I escaped this place the next morning.

Horrible place to stay.
I have never given a bad review of a place but this house is not good for anyone to stay at. First of all they don’t tell you, but before you even see your room they require you to pay in full up front. I had to call the police for the disturbance upstairs above our room. I contacted the owners of Ada and they have not responded to me nor refunded my money. I would suggest staying away from this place. There are other cheaper places to stay!

An affordable room in a guest house with greater privacy than a regular “bed and breakfast” would allow. Greater flexibility with coming and going without the usual interaction with hosts.

Accidentally double booked their last single room, gave the double room to me for no extra cost or fuss. Room was clean although if you're a light sleeper the walls are very thin and you can hear a lot of noise.

Very Ppeased With Ada's
I was very happy with the location, and cleanliness and very happy with the proximity to the subway station. My single room was quite small but the third-floor apartment was spacious and an excellent value

Quiet and Comfortable
Overall I would definitely come back! The rooms were comfortable, and the house is in a great location close to the subway and lots of coffee shops. The rooms provide plenty of privacy (I rarely ran in to any of the other guests). A great alternative to staying in a hotel.

Check-in is 3pm, we arrived at 330pm and room was not ready - had to wait another 40 minutes for the room. The room itself contained a hodge-podge of worn furnishings. The mattress looked and felt like something out of a 1950s orphanage or prison...thin, no modern cushioning, sagging middle. Basically, it looked like everything was bought at Goodwill. The bath was very clean but hot/cold water alternated while showering. The bedroom itself had been vacuumed in the visible areas but there was obvious build up of dust and grime behind the beds. They did have good Wi-Fi (unlike some other cheaper hotels I've used), there was a fridge and a micro-wave. TV seemed to have lots of channels but not channel listing guide was provided. My assumption is that the highly positive reviews are based on price and location. If price and location are more important than comfort and ambiance for a traveler, then Ada's Guesthouse will do.

Quiet little guesthouse in great neighborhood
I enjoyed my stay very much. The single room for 1 person was nice looking, and great utilities. I loved the appearance of the room and the overall guesthouse. The manager was very nice and kind.

I shared a fairly large room with 2 queen beds. Fairly clean and adequate. There is a microwave and 'frig however it's not exactly where you would want to bring food back to for dining in. There was't a table or desk however there were 2 tub chairs so I suppose you could sit and hold your food container. You might want to bring your own tea bags/instant coffee packets, along with mini creamers and plastic utensils etc. There were 2 mugs and 2 glasses which is a plus, bring some clothes hangers. Windows do open, good for fresh air. Far from luxury, adequate for the price. The people attending to this guesthouse were attentive and accomodating, no fault there. However, I wouldn't stay there again.

You Get What You Pay For
The room was incredibly small. Two towels were left for the two of us for 2 days there. No wash cloths. No coffee maker in the room. The worst shower I've ever had, spraying all over, in the smallest shower stall I've ever been in. Two flat pillows on the besd...we had to fold them in half for it to even kind of feel like 2 pillows. No covering on the small window above the bed, so full sunlight came in first thing in the morning. A armoir was provided for our clothes, complete with 4 hangers and drawers that fell off the runners. TV stopped working on our last day. All in all, it was an ok stay as we weren't actually in the room much, but it comes down to what can you expect for $83 a night? If I do a Toronto trip like this again, I will stay at a better, actual hotel.

Great place for the price.
We enjoyed our stay at Ada's Guesthouse. It is no-frills, but pretty clean, quiet, and comfortable. It is very close to the subway, so you can get around the city easily. It is an old house, so the hot water would turn cold when someone else used it!

The size of the room was ok but the structure was old, the bed not comfortable and there was only one small and dirty blanket available. There wasn't a thermostate to regulate the temperature in the room. The first night the temperature was fine, but the second and the third night we were freezing!! We stayed there for three nights and the room has never been cleaned. It's in a central position, you can reach easily all the attractions.

The guest house was o.k. The room was a little tired, we had to call to ask for the noise above us to stop so that we could sleep. The room was too cool overnight and we did not have extra blankets. The location was very good with lots of amenities in the area and the parking was only $10 for the night. We had 4 guests in the room so when all of the charges were added up, it's not the best value to be found for an overnight stay.

Awful bed
The hotel is in an amazing location, very close to Church St and the subway. The room size was decent, the room was clean but the bed was without a single doubt the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. Both nights I stayed there I woke up with a lot of back pain from how bad those beds are (and I'm in my 20s). Recommending those beds to anyone should be a felony.
