Tokyu Stay Shibuya

"Nice foreigner-oriented hotel in a quiet district"
I found the hotel through recommendations from a friend, who point out one very big advantage over the usual business hotel chains in Japan (Toyoko Inn, Super Hotel, etc.): a washing machine/dryer in your own room. That sure is appealing. The hotel located a bit far away from Shibuya proper (on the edge of Dogenzaka district), though it is only 10 minutes walk from the station. Along the way, you can find all sorts of restaurants, bars, convenient stores, even adult entertainment, catering to most of what you might need. It is on a quiet, well lit business district street, away from most of the hustle and bustle. There is a 24 hour supermarket (Maruetsu, open even on New Year's Day!) right across the street, which is very convenient for getting fresh fruit (usually a hassle in Japan). Rooms are well furnished and reasonably spacious for Tokyo. Along with the washer, there's an induction stove with frying pan, kitchen knife and utensils. You can probably cook your meals in the room without ever bothering anyone else. Service is very good, front staff are friendly and helpful. Their command of English varies, but basic communication are no problem. You can get amenities like razor, shower cap, cotton swabs and the like at the front desk. For ladies, the hotel provide an amenities pack with Shiseido skin care products. There's a coffee machine at the lobby all the time. They even gave you a free pouch of washing detergent at check in!

"Fantastic little apartment close to transport."
This is a fantastic little place to stay. I was travelling on business combined with sightseeing. Its great for people who don't spend much time in the hotel when they are abroad. The flat itself is tiny but has everything you need and more. Ironing board, iron, washing machine, stove, microwave, grill, etc - there isn't anything missing. Important to note that it offers wifi. Its very secure and very close to Gotanda station. If you know anything about Tokyo trains, you'll know that the Yamanote line (which this station is on) does a big loop of Tokyo and is the main circle line for Tokyo. There are plenty of local stores and eateries. I'm not usually so gushing with praise but this is really good value for money and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I came back to Tokyo.

The location was perfect. Easy access to Akasaka and Roppongi. The room was smaller than I thought and the bath was simpler and older than I thought, but it was understandable for the perfect location. The room we stayed had two floors. The stairs were very dangerous - so very narrow and high slope. I had a small boy and I could not go upstairs where the bed was placed. I wish the hotel could mention about the stairs so that I could look for a different place. If it's only the adults, could be manageable. I'd never seen such a narrow and sharp slope stairs.

"Great apartments"
Apartments are very small but contain all the essentials (fridge, sink, cooker and even a washing machine) There is a major road nearby and you do hear a lot of traffic noise. This is not helped that odiaba appears to become a racetrack for youngsters in cars and on bikes on a weekend adding to more noise

"Nice hotel near the city"
Hundred Stay was a nice clean hotel with wonderful staff. It didn't have a lot of extras (pool, bar, resturant) but the staff was very accomodating and the bed comfortable. I missed my flight and as a result arrived a day late. My room was upgraded which was such a wonderful gesture. Not many English speaking television or radio options. Breakfast had the same choices everyday. I would stay there again

"great apartment/hotel, good value for money"
1) Staff is really good, and speaks English. 2) Rooms are comfortable, clean, large and spacious compared to what is standard for a Tokyo hotel room 3) Decent and small kitchen in the room for basic stuff (hot plate, kettle) 4) Location is close enough to Shinjuku station, which connects to most metro/JR lines and is a good base to explore the city as well as travel to other stations. 5) Decent continental breakfast included with room. Unfortunately paucity of vegetarian options though.
