Bedsheets and towels were stained and overall cleanliness is very poor Development is very old and needs maintenance Rooms are small and can see others room very easily no privacy Tioman is nice and that’s what made our stay good not the hotel so much

The location is amazing and set in a beautiful shallow beach which is stunning. The hotel itself is run down and in need of an overhaul. We are not overly fussy and enjoyed our time swimming and just hanging around but don’t come with high expectations of a 4 star resort.

The location is sensational - right on the beach with easy access from the jetty. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, with great customer service. The place is a little run down - not surprising after Covid - and needs a bit of TLC, but the management are working hard to bring it back to its former glory and it just needs more guests to help fund their efforts. The food isn't the best, but everything else makes up for it. Highly recommend.

Great place to stay with my family for a week. Close to some decent snorkelling from the beach, a good (if sometimes a bit busy) restaurant. The deluxe suite we stayed in was spacious and we loved the outdoor bath!

Clean. Beautiful place. Amazing staff
I enjoyed the whole stay. The staff were friendly. The place was super cleaned and well maintained eventho the place being vacant for along time due to pandemic. I went there few days after the interstate travel was allowed. Just the experience with the ferry wasn't pleasant.

Lovely family get away in clear waters
Papa beach resort is one of the resort's in the Tioman Island. Tioman Island has one or two resorts in each stretch of beach. This one has rooms very close to the beach. Staff is helpful. I suggest 3 night stay to enjoy the resort, the island and take great opportunities for snorkelling and diving. Rama the manager is extra helpful, talk to him for any support

Upon checking into our room, we had to request to immediately swap rooms due to the uncleanliness of the room, and the lack of a 'beach view' which we had paid for - the view was blocked by another building and a digger making a lot of noise. We were also greeted to rubbish on our porch/leftover food remains as we entered our room. We were allocated a different room, and while we could just see a bit of the beach, the room is still extemeley unclean. There are black hairs on the floor in many places, the room is worn and dated, the cold tap does not work on the shower making it extremely uncomfortable to shower. In addition the windows in the bathroom do not close. There are bins overflowing throughout the resort

Dear guest This is our findings from our staff who attended to you. Your reservation was superior beach front and after your complaint that the excavator was noisy, our front office colleague upgraded you a Deluxe suite which you were happy. As for your claim on on overflow bins, it is a practise that all rubbish is cleared 3times or more daily by public area staff.

I like the pool. The breakfast is okay, but could be better by adding a few more varieties. The staffs are great, keep reminding us about the ferry schedule.

Beach Bar staff
Great location by the beach. Welcoming and friendly staff, although not always the most attentive. The beach bar area was made exceptional by the service from Robin and Rodriguez. Robin never failed to chat with us and was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. He couldn't do enough for us. Excellent service.

The amenities of the resort were great. Food was beyond amazing, i ate the Paya nasi goreng thrice during my stay as that's how delicious it was. I highly recommend it. Since i was solo traveler, the staffs at the resort went beyond their call of duty to recommend me things i could do by myself, as most of the activities require at least 2 people or set to the price of 2 people. Many of them were kind enough to recommend dishes i should try at a very cheap rate, guess cuz i was alone, and joined me while i was eating or drinking at the bar at night, i really found that very sweet Also, please DONT hike on your own The only issue were the 3G/4G but its not their fault; I was irritated for awhile, as i had of emails to reply, ironically you can get good 3G/4G at the beach. So, i decided to set an auto-reply saying i am in a place with no 3G/4G don't expect any immediate responds. Took my phone, stuffed it deep down my bag pack, forgot about it and just enjoyed the island has to offer. And before i slept, walked towards to the beach and cleared my mails. Besides the beauty of the island, the people was one of the key highlights! Will definitely 100% return

The first room that was allotted to us was pathetic.. Seeing the condition, we went for an upgrade to a suite. That was OK, but certainly not to a suite standard.. The walls had stains, and paint peeling off from here and there.. Bathrooms were moldy.. Bed linen had a horrible perfume.. As far as outside facilities were concerned, swimming pool was dirty.. Reception area had a perpetual stink.. The rates were high, compared to other similar hotels in Malaysia, but the facilities were sub standard... Wifi was not available as a standard option.. It was chargeable.. Free Wifi was available only in reception, but that was ultra slow..

Overall had a great time. However the check-in and check-out was quite frustrating because the resort wanted to charge me :- a. breakfast for my only child upon check-in b. for my child stay We booked a deluxe seafront chalet that comes with one king sized bed and one queen bed for our family of 2 adults + 1 child (aged 11 years). Don't understand what had caused the blunder during check-in and check-out When I emailed the resort earlier, I was told that only 4th guest would be required to pay an additional of RM200. Therefore the entire process was not pleasant

The ambience is nice. I dislike the garbage dump area which was an eye sore beacause it was situated in between the dining area and the way up to the suites near the pool. It was overflowing and the smell was unpleasant everytime we pass by to our rooms.

Booked room for 3 persons, counter staff argue its only for two. Luckily i had my booking email to show its 3. Still counter staff dont agree. Insist to check with the management first. Wifi only available at reception!!!

The hotel is quite dirty. A lot of sands on the floor when we first enters into the room, feel like they never wipe the floor. The toilet has a bad smell and the aircon was leaking. The swimming pool was closed when we checkin first day. The breakfast not so good but we still happy with the staff in restaurant. They are kind, helpful and serving good. I think the hotel needs a lot of improvement then only can consider as 4 star hotel.
