On arriving very late at the hotel we were given the card to the room 308, on entering, the room was ok, under the sideboard I could see an old pair of slippers, the view was at the back and very disappointing, but worst of all entering the bathroom we were met with a strong smell of rotten eggs, as it being very late we just went to bed, the smell kept me a awake all night and after using the sink the smell got much worse, the bed was also too hard for our liking, in the morning we discovered the sink plug was full of old hair and was obvious it hadn't been cleaned for a long time, after complaining we changed rooms, the next room was slightly better, at the least there was no smell, the coffee machine in the room was full of stale water with loads of dust on top. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, alway greeting us with a hello and a smile.
Hotel was clean and staff very friendly and helpful. They assisted us with a map direction and booking a tour to the Vatican. Conveniently located close to bus stop and within walking distance to the train station. Located in a quiet neighborhood with restaurants and fruit stalls, ice-cream shops etc.
The only thing is that the hotel is not within walking distance to the historic sights, but easy to get to by train or bus.
Would stay there again.
This hotel is in the university area of the city. A buzzing environment but not so much as to be a nuisance. We're a family with teenagers so this suited us well, especially as the prices in the local restaurants were really reasonable. Staff at he hotel were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and the room was cleaned every day to a very good standard.
Situated a 15/20 minute walk from the termini station which we found fine, would not suit everyone. The local metro station is the Policlinico and there are trams nearby, so travel links are good.
The b&b is 10 min by tram from Termini station. The location is not the best but it is ok. Restaurants and shops are in a few streets behind the b&b.
The room is of a good size, clean and comfortable. The décor is very nice either in the room and in the communal areas. Breakfast is self service and includes coffee, tea, cakes, biscuits, jam, Nutella, granola and more. A proper espresso machine is available 24h as well as all food mentioned above and it is unlimited.
Donnatella is very accomodating. She always provide our breakfast the night before as we need to leave early before breakfast. Rooms are very clean. Fresh towel everyday. She came on time when we told them that we're arriving @ 12nn in the hotel. Overall we're satisfied. Definitely will come back and stay in this hotel again
We stayed 4 nights and although the location is away from main attractions, public transport is nearby and we had no difficulties with getting around. There are a lot of migrants hanging around, who the staff say have arrived in last 9 months and are well behaved. Access to hotel is via three sets of locked gates/doors, however, on the street we did not feel threatened in any way. After dark the streets are empty. Rooms are small and awkwardly laid out, but clean and well decorated. The showers did not work properly.
Ok for short stay on budget, and you don't distance from central attractions.
The hotel is in a nice quiet area which appears local and is about 20 minutes away from the city centre by taxi-which can eventually become pricey as we were there for 6 nights. I suggest the metro which is far cheaper and takes you straight to many of the tourist sites, for example the Coliseum. The staff were helpful when it came to calling a taxi when needed, as well as guiding us towards the closest metro station (which is 'Bologna'). However, when we first entered our given hotel room it appeared very different from what we saw in the picture: For a "family room" there was hardly any mobility, the beds were very close together-one of the beds were a foldable bed and gave myself back pains the entirety we were there, we had to often swap who slept on it every night. It didn't help that the air conditioning-which was situated directly above the foldable bed- leaked every night. The dripping was loud, thus got irritating.
The facilities which were provided with the hotel were an advantage though. The bathroom was very clean. The cleaning staff were excellent as they provided us with clean towels every day, cleaned the room and changed the bins. Moreover, the room has a working fridge and tv (which we eventually got to work but had nothing of interest on it as it was all in Italian). The breakfast was nice and had a good variety. Any problems we had the staff tried to respond quick, we even got offered new rooms (separate) due to the AC, but decided to stay where we were.
The Rome Tiburtina railway station, one of the most important stations in the city, is located in the Tiburtina Est neighborhood. The area is also an excellent starting point for a visit to the famous San Lorenzo district, known for its nightlife, and for daytrips to the medieval town of Tivoli and its ancient villas such as Villa d'Este and Villa Gregoriana.
