Steamboat Ski Resort – The Steamboat Ski Resort is the town’s most popular attraction. Located on Mount Werner, just to the east of Steamboat Springs, the resort has 165 named trails which range from beginner to advanced level.
Howelsen Ski Area - Smaller than the Steamboat Ski Resort, the Howelsen Ski Area contains a series of short runs and is located just outside the town. Routt National Forest – During the summer months, the forested slopes and lush grasslands of the Routt National Forest, located just a few miles from Steamboat Springs, are full of wildlife. Visitors staying in Steamboat Springs will notice a number of historic landmarks during their stay. One of the most prominent is The Crawford House which was built by James Harvey Crawford, the founder of Steamboat Springs, in 1894. Another notable sight is the Christian Science Society which was built in 1934 and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
