Byron Bay Attractions

Famous for being one of the best beaches on the planet, Byron Bay doesn’t disappoint. The beach itself is, of course, beautiful but it’s the atmosphere and feel of the town that makes it stand out from the other stunning spots that line this coastline. There’s a big surf culture here creating a laid back and hippie vibe. Your stay will be characterised by long lazy days, balmy nights and fun out on the town. Surfers will love the reliable breaks and foodies will relish trying out the many excellent restaurants. In a country with thousands of stunning beaches and pretty coastal towns, it takes a lot to rise above the rest, but Byron Bay does it with ease.

Areas & Neighbourhoods in Byron Bay

Byron Main - As the name suggests, this is the primary and most popular beach in the town. At the southern end, the Pass is where you’ll find the crowds jostling for the best spot on the surf breaks.

Watego’s Beach - Just hidden from view on Byron Main is this top surfing beach, popular with beginners thanks to the smaller waves.

Suffolk Park - Lying a few minutes to the south of the main town, this quieter destination has plenty of services without the big crowds.

Tallow’s Beach - The least known and quietest beach at Byron Bay located to the south side of the main town. Big swells hitting the beach directly mean it’s one for more experienced surfers.
