Smy Carlos V Alghero

10/10 Excellent

"Great location and great hotel. Breakfast was ok, everything else was excellent."

Hotel Leonardo Da Vinci

8/10 Good

"For the price, the location and a place to sleep and take a shower was good. The hotel has had its good days, and it is too old. The ambience is very dingy and depressing. The breakfast was so limited but enough."

San Francesco Heritage Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Room cleaned every day. All staff very friendly. Could have greater variety of breakfast food.Generally a fine place to stay in an old monastery."

Piccolo Catalunya Hostel

10/10 Excellent

"The room was clean and spacious, and the location is walkable to the attractions."

Hotel Soleado

8/10 Good

"Rooms were a bit outdated. TV was from the 90’s. After a long day and evening, it would be nice to have a smart TV to relax and watch in whatever your language is. Overall a nice place with a great location."

Residence Picalè

8/10 Good

"Bien situé, plage et ville."

Hotel Punta Negra

10/10 Excellent

"Clean room and hotel. Good breakfast with lots of options. Great beach that you just walk down to and a great area to swim."

Hotel Carlo Felice

10/10 Excellent

"The room was nice and clean. The patient was great and staff for friendly however the bathroom was very petite. It was a bit of a challenge in getting into the shower."

B&B Hotel Sassari

8/10 Good

"Cleanliness of the room was of highest standards, beds were made everyday, breakfast was great, loads of choice. The only small issue was parking situation, when most of the time we were able to get a free parking across the road from hotel, but due to celebrations in August, there were evenings, when we had to leave the car at nearby restaurant and walk back 10min, or else wait for someone to leave the parking spot."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Thiesi?

The best area to stay in Thiesi is within the town centre itself, particularly around Piazza Italia, as this provides the most convenient access to local amenities and a genuine experience of Sardinian life.Thiesi's town centre is relatively compact and walkable, with traditional stone buildings and narrow streets. Piazza Italia is the focal point, a pleasant square often bustling with locals, especially in the evenings. Here, you'll find the main church, the Church of Sant'Andrea, and several local shops, cafes, and restaurants. This central location means you're never far from a fresh pastry or a traditional Sardinian meal. For couples looking for a relaxed and authentic Italian getaway, staying in Thiesi centre is ideal. You can enjoy strolls through the historic streets, savour local cuisine at your leisure, and experience the unhurried pace of life. It's a great base for exploring the surrounding natural beauty of the Meilogu region, with its ancient Nuragic sites and picturesque landscapes, without being in a heavily touristed area.

When is the best time to go to Thiesi?

The best time to go to Thiesi is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, and September, when the weather is pleasant for exploring and the region is less crowded. These months offer warm, but not excessively hot, temperatures, typically ranging from 20-28°C (68-82°F), which is ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and visiting local archaeological sites. The countryside surrounding Thiesi is particularly beautiful during these times, with wildflowers in bloom in late spring and a pleasant warmth lingering into early autumn. For couples looking for a relaxed getaway, May and September are particularly appealing. The fewer crowds mean a more intimate experience at local restaurants and historical sites. You'll find it easier to enjoy the tranquility of the Sardinian landscape and the slower pace of life in Thiesi.Families travelling with children might find June a good balance. The weather is consistently warm enough for outdoor adventures, and while there are more visitors than in May or September, it's still far from the peak summer rush, making it easier to navigate with little ones.
