I didn’t have high expectations, since it was so cheap (the room 307 for one person), but I want to be real and warn others: you getting what you paid for. No conditioner, just a loud fan. No toiletries or a wash cloth - just tiny packs of shampoo and a bath gel very poor quality. The mattress was super hard and had holes in it, and pillows were nasty with holes. The tiny bathtub was very hard to get in and out, because it was located in a narrow space between too walls. The water pressure was non-existing. The walls were paper-thin, and I was forced to listen my neighbors rated R activities. Also, in this small room for unknown me reason I had inside folded plastic table and a chair (I am guessing, they should be on a balcony). On a better side - the location was great, walking distance from the bus station, close to the beach, tons of restaurants around. The staff was very helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sun Holidays. Simple but comfortable and very clean room with balcony. Excellent value for money. Very well located in a lovely area in town center: restaurants, shops, supermarket nearby. Quiet location. The big public parking by the sea is less than 5 minutes away, convenient when using rental car.

Hotel Sun Holidays is a budget, no frills hotel. The rooms are comfortable but basic, a little shabby in places. However, this hotel is in a fantastic spot in the town near great restaurants and cafes. The nicer part of town we thought, with an easy walk to beach and Lido. The staff at the Hotel were lovely and responded to our query about a larger room straight away - thank you.

This hotel is well located in the old town with a number of good restaurants within a 5 min walk, and a cafe/bar around the corner for breakfast/lunch/drinks. The hotel itself is a bit tired. The carpet on the stairs is threadbare, some of the decoration had come off our bedroom wall and where someone had redecorated they had also got a stripe of paint on the mirror frame. Overall the place looks a little scruffy and unloved. More frustrating were small practical issues such as the shower holder being fixed at such an angle that the water would spray straight over the top of my head or straight into my partner’s face, and this could not be adjusted. Additionally my partner’s bedside light and the balcony light were not working. We tried moving another bulb to the bedside light but it continued not to work so it seemed that the fitting itself was broken. We intended to report this upon checking out but we forgot. I’m not sure whether it would have been fixable had we reported it during our stay. Finally, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you are a light sleeper. The sound insulation both internally and externally is poor, so it can be quite noisy. Also the mattress is very firm so by the middle of the week I was quite achey and finding it difficult to sleep. Some positives though - the room was equipped with a powerful hairdryer and a fan heater, and reception provided a kettle when we asked. The little balcony was nice. We had a nice holiday overall.

The property is in a great location, walkable to everything. It is a little worn down, but clean and good value for staying just a few nights. There is a coffee vending machine in the lobby but no kettle in the room, just a small fridge.

The hotel is in a very good location close to a lovely square with good bars and restaurants; 2 mins from the town centre and beaches. Hotel check-in was quick, easy and very nice and helpful. The room was clean and had a nice little wrap around terrace. Wifi was poor; but overall good value for the very economical price

Stayed two nights and enjoyed my stay. I was given a room on the second floor at check-in, was not able to get one floor higher. There may be some sort of views on the 3rd floor but not on the second. Real quiet in the evening, well-located, no issues with wifi. Sound insulation from the walls was pretty dismal though.

Great value for money
Positioned in a quiet part of Puerta de la Cruz, yet close enough to walk to all the local amenities, Hotel Sun Holidays is a fabulous place to stay for those on a tight budget. Friendly service from the moment you arrive, bed was really comfy and the bar / cafeteria just behind the hotel was simply perfect for a coffee and croissant in a morning as well as an evening beer. The only slight niggle was the water pressure on the 3rd floor was fairly weak and the room over the coming months could possibly do with being modernised but that all said I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 nights there and would not hesitate to return.

It was clean, had a balcony and ensuite bathroom and it’s location in the old part of the town near the centre and a short walk to Playa Jardin beach made it a very good choice. The staff were excellent and very helpful in telling us the best restaurants.

Perfect for independent travel/exploration
Excellent value for the money. Great helpful service. I booked to attend the Tenerife Walking Festival, and this was perfect for me. Does not pretend to be luxurious, but great value and quiet location near pedestrian area was perfect for me. Guests need to arrange food (breakfast etc.) but with a multitude of cafés and restaurants around the corner it encourages the guests to explore the different eateries. Great if you do not need your hand held (...i.e. not all inclusive etc.) The hotel website was true in its description with no embellishment to the service/description.

Excellent hotel :)
I have no idea why this is a one star hotel. It is in an excellent location close to the centre of town. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. There is a balcony with each room and on the roof there is an area for relaxing in the sun. Cleaners came in everyday and were very good. I would definitely stay here again. There is no bar/restaurant or breakfast options but there is a coffee and snacks/drinks machine, not really an issue as there are plenty of restaurants and cafes close by.

Shame about the bed/mattress, otherwise good value
Hotel was appropriate for the price. Bed/mattress was very uncomfortable though, where you can't escape the V in the middle. Location was convenient to shops, town centre etc but the parking is an issue. Parking is available a distance away, so be aware of this if you are unable to walk distances.

Comfortable central hotel
Hotel is located close to the beach and all amenities. Plenty car parking can be found within a 5-10 minute walk. Hotel is in a quiet back street and although the rooms are simple they are exceptionally clean and comfortable. Only negative was the noisy plumbing but otherwise we really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely hotel, great location
The hotel is really nice, close to the beach, in a pretty side street with lots of lovely little bars and restaurants. Very good value for money. Only a couple of tiny niggles, the soundproofing isn't great, and when there are toddlers overhead that get up at 5am and stomp back and forth it's not terribly relaxing. Also, pillows are very hard. Otherwise this is a gem of a hotel.

Close to shopping centre, pubs, and some beach.
It's located in a very safe area. It's not far from bus stops and taxis. Everything was convenient. I had plenty of restaurants nearby too. It is on the South side, much more relaxed part of Tenerife.

Great no frills hotel in central location
Pros Great location, right in the middle of the pedestrian area with lots of shops and restaurants around. Central to most things I wanted to see in Puerto de la Cruz. My room was a decent size, fairly clean, lots of basic toiletries provided, tv. kettle and bottle opener could be loaned from reception Staff were friendly I arrived very late at night but had no problems getting in (emailled ahead to get an access code) Cons The shower was not great, although plenty of hot water Could be cleaner Sometimes my door wouldn't lock Bed was a bit hard

Nice little hotel in the old town.
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It's in the old town which is all small, quaint back streets. There's no parking at the hotel but a large free car park is only 5 mins walk away. Its's very close to a host of bars and restaurants.The Charming Plaza Del Charco is only 5 minuets away and the center of town is ten minutes away. Our hotel room was slightly on the small side but clean and comfortable. There was a small balcony too. The room was cleaned each day and towels were changed as often as required if left on the bathroom floor. Staff were always friendly and pleasant. There is no food available at the hotel although there are vending machines in the lobby. It was so close to good cafe's etc that we just popped out and brought breakfast each day. It was not an expensive place to stay so all in all we thought that it was a great little hotel for the price and would definitely recommend.

Stayed here before and will again. Excellent location and very clean, it doesn't matter that it doesn't have any facilities because everything you would want is on the doorstep. Hotel staff are always friendly and very helpful

At the base end of 'basic'
This hotel did not live up to the marketing description. It has all the charm of a 2nd rate hostel. The facilities are basic and the shower/bathroom was particularly poor. The walls are paper thin and any sound resonates throughout. To be fair, it seemed clean enough. Despite having paid for a week, we stayed only one night without unpacking. Worth mentioning that if the on-line photos of the hotel had been a true reflection of reality, there would have been no chance I would have booked it

A nice but basic hotel in a great location
Went to see my daughter who lives in the resort for a few days. Because I was on my own I didn't really care about hotel facilities, Iocation was more important. This hotel is basic but clean. The room again basic but clean and comfortable. Reception staff are very pleasant but the location is superb!! Easy walking to all areas of the resort and some lovely restaurants and bars a stones throw away. I will use this hotel again

Good basic hotel near to beach and town centre.
I stayed in a single ensuite room with a small balcony which was clean and comfortable. Check in was fast and staff are friendly. Location is good, close to the main beach, bus station, centre of town and restaurants.

Hotel near to vets
My husband and I stayed here for a week. Booked a double room, room had 3 beds - only 1 chair and patio table inside to sit at - had to bring in a chair from balcony. Small fridge was provided but no heating of any form - we were cold. Bathroom had broken window and couldn't be opened or fully closed - very draughty! Window made door rattle, had to put a wad of toilet roll in it to stop the noise. Our door into room (and several others) were incredibly noisy - groaning when opened - some wd40 would've solved this in an instant. We could hear a lot going on in other rooms especially at nights if you get what I mean - beds banged on the floor during certain activities! Beds were comfortable and when I eventually got to sleep I slept well. If you love dogs barking all of the evening and up to 11.40pm every night (there's a vets on one opposite corner and dogs in a couple of apartments the other way) this is the hotel for you!

Simple, Straightforward, Friendly Small Hotel
This Hotel is simple and no frills, but it suited us well. The room and the balcony were small, but were manageable. The staff were friendly and the location was excellent. We would be glad to recommend it.

First visit to Puerto de la Cruz
Nice hotel and friendly helpful staff, only complaint is no tea/coffee making facilities in room, the receptionist did lend us a kettle so we managed and there was a fridge so cold drinks were OK.

Well located in the old town
Located in the old town,close to a large public car park and lots of good restaurants.Clean and comfortable room with a small balcony.A bonus for us was a fridge in the room but on the downside there was no air conditioning and unfortunately it was very hot at night.Having said that we would definitely stay here again,perhaps when it's not so hot.

Lovely hotel and friendly staff
Great hotel, well located with everything you need close to hand. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Great sun deck overlooking the town and coast. Loads of free Parking 5 minutes away.
