Grand for a winter cycling break

Posted 20-Nov-2017
Pros: It was incredibly cheap, the rooms were excellent, staff were superb too. Location is very good for cycling.
Cons: More notice of building work when you're there. Fruit juice at breakfast was pretty poor and it's machine coffee too.
Location: Right on the edge of the town. A couple of restaurants nearby, but more of a walk into town for anything else. Supermarket nearly next door.
We had a group of eight of us out on a late cycling break. The hotel worked really well for us as the rooms are a good size and we could keep our bikes there. All the rooms are apartment style rooms, with a living room, balcony, very small kitchenette and bedroom. The hotel is also perfectly positioned for cycling, right at the foot of the hills on the West of the island. We stayed half-board as it wasn't that much more expensive than B&B. The food was pretty grand, nothing exceptional, but we ate well every night. One big thing was that the hotel has three pools and the middle one was closed for refurbishment. This meant that a good part of the pool area outside was a noisy, messy building site. It didn't really affect us as we were away from the hotel nearly all day, but a few other guests were pretty upset about it. The hotel is huge and it's just luck whether your room has a decent view or not. If you're at the front of the hotel, you're close to the road, but you get a view over the water to La Gomera. The hotel staff were fantastic and really couldn't be more helpful.

Overall nice hotel, great pools although very poor on umbrellas. Food typical of AI although we did have to wait and queue for a table at breakfast and dinner. Also they are very strict on closing the bar at 23pm if you are AI you have to pay for drinks after this time too

All round good hotel

Posted 26-Feb-2017
Pros: Its location
Cons: Although food was a good standard breakfast and evening meal restaurant full and noisy.Suggest 1st sitting for families with young children
Location: Bus stop outside, coastal walks,no loud disco noise in Blogue F,supermarket by hotel, excursions booking agent close by.
We had half board package. It is however,a hotel more for families who just want to use the pool and sit in a lounger with entertainment, especially for children.

Good south of island location

First...it is impossible to find the hotel. Nowhere does the name or address appear. It is still operating with a former name. It is a resort with lots of all-inclusive guests. We had a great room with a fabulous view. Pools look great but were too cool to use. The outdoor hottub cost money. Sorry we bought half-board. Restaurant was very noisy. We would have rather gone out. It was a good buffet but they ran out things like of lamb chops and orange juice. Breakfast selection was great, but crowded and noisy.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your insights following your recent visit. We always look for ways to improve and your comments are crucial to our future success. Regarding to the difficulties on finding our hotel let me inform you that recently it has been opened a stretch of highway leading directly to Guía de Isora but anyway we will look for improving our signage and visibility. Let me tell you aswell that one of our three swimming pools is climatized for the cold seasons, the one nearby the Wellness center and the Hall. We know that sometimes our buffet is crowded when all our guests are coming at the same time and we apologize for the inconvenience. We're taking notes of your comments to improve our service. Thank you for taking time for sharing with us your opinion about your stay in Allegro Isora. We hope to see you back soon here in Tenerife. Fab value off peak

Good hotel and location 2 mins walk to a supermarket. Great breakfast buffet. Parts of the complex could do with a facelift but overall very good and B &B was incredible value for money

lovely comfy hotel

Posted 01-Aug-2016
Pros: The room, the quiet nights and the entertainment staff
Cons: The wifi should be better. More staff on reception
Location: We loved the black sand beach and found a great bureau opposite to book excursions. The island tour including Mount Tiede was great to see a differen
Just returned from a lovely week at this hotel. Room was great, very quiet at night and the beds (including the sofa bed in the lounge which I slept on) were really comfy. The entertainment staff worked really hard and there was something for all ages. The food was fine, good variety but spoilt by some guests being absolute pigs and taking way more than they needed. It was replenished very quickly but there was no need for people to take eg, a whole pizza, leaving others having to wait. The pool bar food was great for snacks during the day. Sunbeds werent an issue for the first few days but did get bad by the end of the week and when we left at 7 am for a trip one day there were already beds reserved. . The wifi also wasnt great. The hotel was advertised as unlimited wifi but it didnt really reach our room and was often over loaded so we were unable to get on - fine for me but not ideal for 2 teenagers!!! Reception also needed more staff. There was often only 1 person on and if someone was checking in or had long queries there was often a long wait. However, they were very helpful when you did get to speak to them. They sorted out our problems with the safe and dodgy toilet very quickly

Surpassed my expectations.

Posted 27-Jun-2016 on Hotels
This is a busy hotel and there is alot going on if you want to get involved. It is also possible to have a quiet, relaxing holiday here. As a female solo traveller, I appreciated being allocated a room in the main part of the building close to reception and the restaurant. I felt very comfortable. The staff were all so smart in clean white shirts, black trousers and every member of staff I met was helpful, polite and professional. The newly refurbished superior apartment was very good value for money.Breakfast can be busy but the food is plentiful and constantly being replenished and the restaurant staff work hard to keep everything flowing. The grounds staff were also constantly working on cleaning and painting and keeping everything ship shape. Well done to the Varadero team. My only small gripe is that I don't like wearing the wristband put on at check in. Take a large cheap bangle to wear that will cover it when you are out and about in Tenerife.
