This hotel is central to the main gondola

Posted 13-Feb-2017
Pros: The location and the pricing being reasonable
Cons: The hot tub was substandard. It needed water and an increase in temperature to be worth anything.
Location: Skiing is the main attribute to this location.
Great location. Access to lifts within one block. Also central to all the restaurants in the town.

Great location and friendly staff

Posted 08-Feb-2017
We stayed here for only one night while we skied for 2 days. They allowed us to park our truck for both days, before check in and after check out, which was so great! In such a small town, it's hard to find parking so close to the gondola. The town gondola was only about a block away! We didn't have to drive anywhere. Made our stay in a Telluride one of the best short vacations ever!

Good Location, but ...

Posted 31-Jan-2017
Pros: The front desk clerk was very friendly and good natured.
Cons: It needs to be updated and remodeled. Add standard hotel amenities and guest services.
Location: Close to the main street, shops, restaurants, Chair 8, and the gondola.
We are regular visitors to Telluride, but this was our first stay at the Victorian Inn. We had a difficult time finding a hotel that would allow a two night stay (most have a 3-night minimum), but the Victorian Inn did. The woman at the front desk was warm and pleasant with a good sense of humor. The room rate included a light breakfast buffet in the cramped lobby area, which was limited, but decent. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable; although an extra blanket would have been nice. However, the accommodations are quite Spartan, to say the least; and there is little attention paid to guest service. The front desk closes at 9 p.m., so don't expect anyone to assist you after that. Also, there is no bellman, no ski valet, and no shuttle service. There is no closet, just a small hat/coat rack attached to the bedroom wall. Lighting was limited/inadequate. The bathroom and shower were so small you could barely change your mind inside. The furniture looked like it came from Wal-Mart in the 1970s -- not real wood. (Maybe wood-grain contact paper? IDK) There was no noise mitigation; neither from the space above us, nor the street outside. We stayed in a first floor room and we easily heard people walking above us, and those talking on the sidewalk sounded like they were inside our room. For the (substantial) rate we paid, we expected much, much more. We likely won't go back.

A little overpriced for a budget hotel. Room was small and noisy.

Walking distance to great shops & restaurants🤗

A lovely get away place that was within our budget... the only thing is that the walls are thin!

Okay for a night

Posted 22-Jan-2017
Hotel is really a through back to years before and hasn't been updated. It was clean enough, a little noisy (they provide ear plugs) and all the stations didn't come in on the TV. Only needed it for one night so it worked out fine but for my taste I wouldn't want to be there for a week

Adequate

Posted 16-Jan-2017
Room lacked a comfortable chair. Pillows were too big. Tap water made terrible coffee. Breakfast room was annoyingly small with seating for nine people at tiny tables. Easier to go elsewhere for breakfast. Food was almost always cold.

Fantastic proximity to gondola & restaurants

Posted 27-Dec-2016
Pros: The hot tub was terrific, they provided homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast & the staff are cheerful. Also, we could walk anywhere downtown.
Cons: The heating elements need improvement--we couldn't regulate the heat in our rooms, and we heard that other guests had the same problem
Location: This hotel is in walking distance to the gondola, 221 Oak (a well-known restaurant) and all the fun downtown shops
This is a cheerful hotel with fantastic proximity to everything you want to do in Telluride. We literally could walk a couple of blocks with our skis to the gondola and to all the great restaurants. The rooms and beds are cozy, however, we and other guests had problems with our heaters (which blasted too much heat & we couldn't control the thermostats). The staff appeared at a loss as to what to do. I hope the hotel management will take this problem seriously get this issue fixed.

Close to the gondola and to town, but small

Posted 26-Dec-2016
Pros: Proximity to the free gondola and to town.
Cons: I don't think the small room size can be improved, it is what it is. Perhaps it could be clearer what you're getting for the price.
Location: You can't beat Telluride for scenery, it is stunning and gorgeous in every direction. Both the town and village have great things to see and do.
The Victorian is typical accommodation for the 'town' side of Telluride. Most of the buildings in town are older and historic. There aren't a lot of frills here, just basic accommodations close to the old town. If you're interested in the glitz and glitter, be sure to stay at the Mountain Village, which is more oriented to upscale life. I had booked a room for our family of five, but when we arrived we were given a room with two queen beds. The reservation clearly said two queen beds, but also showed that I indicated 5 guests. The front desk provided us with a rollaway bed without the usual extra charge, which I think is exactly what they should've done under the circumstances, but I had to carry it up to the room myself and figure out a way to wedge it into the already small room. Overall, the staff did what they could for me and my family, but for almost $250 a night, I would've expected more.
