Good deals available

Cons: Improved list of restaurants that deliver for the benefit of the walking wounded
We spent our first vacation in 2 years in Telluride and chose to stay at Hotel Telluride. Everything was fantastic. Note that there is no room service, but hey, it's a small hotel and the restaurant is great. Great views, two hot tubs, decent gym. Beds and down comforters are super comfortable, which is especially appreciated after getting beat up by gravity on the mountain the first day out. A++ would stay again.

Great hotel with friendly staff

Posted 29-Jan-2016
Wonderful atmosphere and conveniently located in Telluride. Hotel shuttle was a great plus to trip (though we did have an issue one cold night where we had to walk back after waiting for 30 minutes for shuttle only to find van parked at hotel with driver inside.) Room was comfortable and warm, staff consistently friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended.

Staff nice but hotel needs updating

Posted 10-Jan-2016
Staff nice but service and environment level not of high quality of comparable cost hotels and given that Telluride considered upscale ski resort. Hotel is old in appearance and food--breakfast at Nook was terrible. Better pancakes at McDonalds.

Location is a tight multi-building neighborhood

Posted 08-Jan-2016
Pros: The room.
Cons: Better restaurant food and prices. The menu was a ripoff, and we took a pass.
Location: Duh!
Pictures are deceiving. The lobby, while cozy, is tiny and feels like a train station during ski season. Food is overpriced and not worth the bother. Rooms (especially if you get the King Elite) are good - nice beds, nice Aveda shampoo etc. Charging extra for underground parking is a ripoff, The shuttle service (free) is a nice convenience, but slow - one SUV for the entire hotel. All in all, a reasonably pleasant, but not earth shaking experience for the high room price.

Bingo!

Posted 01-Dec-2015
Pros: Bed size, bathrooms, full kitchen, washer/dryer, location,
Cons: The Elevators. There are two you need to take so, its a minor inconvenience...but not a really big deal....
Location: Have dinner at Allred's at the top of the lift. See if you can get a window table before the sun goes down. Ridiculous view. Food is excellent.
Our first time in Telluride and while I asked friends for suggestions, I trusted the collective reviews from various websites. The Franz Klammer Hotel was simply, excellent. Important to us are the size of the beds. Many hotels have beds that are only Double/Full. My wife and I are not big people but still find it uncomfortable to sleep in a double bed. The beds at the Franz Klammer are King-sized. The kitchen is fully equipped with top of the line appliances (washer & dryer). There is a gas fireplace and the bathrooms are large and resort-style (huge jacuzzi tubs). The location is perfect, and if you need more detail, I suggest Googling and look at the Satellite version. You'll get a better sense of just how the Mountain Village is laid out. There IS a Starbucks about 80 yards away, next to the small, quaint Ice Skating rink. The Gondola takes you over to the town of Telluride in about 11 minutes and its free. A perfect experience!

Best place in Town

Posted 23-Nov-2015
Pros: Comfortable and easy to access. It snowed and our room had a view - very pretty to see.
Cons: The NOOK restaurant was closed. This was not convenient
Location: Easy to get to downtown Telluride.
I only rate this a 4 because the Nook Restaurant was closed for the off season. This made it inconvenient as there are no real restaurants in town. The food was not very good at the bars and it was extremely expensive. However, the Baked in Telluride cafe was the best. The hotel is quaint. The rooms are a bit small but are clean and comfortable. Hotel staff was polite. If you want to stay in Telluride this is the place to be.

A great hotel, with a lodge-like lobby. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very clean and was within walking distance of all shops and restaurants in Telluride.
