Wonderful stay

Posted 14-Apr-2017
We had a great time at Angler Inn, their breakfast was wonderful, a lot of options, and everything tasted great. Room was so clean, bed was huge, very comfortable. We had a great stay. The only thing that is of concern is that we got there around 7 PM, and wanted to go to telluride, the inn has no shuttle, and no busses run after 7, there's no Uber/lyft. And there was no one to help us figure out how to go to telluride. Calling cabs everyone. Ended a much longer notice, so we had to spend the night there and not go out which I disappointing. I wish there was someone at reception who could help guide us on how to commute. Moreover, the restaurant closes at 8, so we couldn't get any food there or any food delivered to us (one pizza place that delivers said they're too busy). So that was frustrating too, that there is no place to get food at night.

Nice affordable spot near telluride

Posted 22-Mar-2017
The hotel was very nice. Our room was a standard Queen and was cozy and clean. Most everyone staying here is going on or around telluride so bear in mind that it's a solid 20 minute drive to telluride proper or mountain village for skiing. Every morning breakfast was set up starting at 7 am and consisted of a waffles with a diy waffle maker, muffins, bagels, toast, several types of cereal, and fresh fruit. Breakfast was a great bonus because it was nice to fill up before spending all day exploring the mountains or skiing. Overall the hotel was very nice and clean and the staff was always nice. There are some things you should note though before you go. First, all the reviews saying the walls are thin are true-as in you will be able to hear common conversation next door. Secondly, and this is important, do NOT forget your room key ESPECIALLY after 8pm. The hotel staff leaves the premises at 8pm and if you find yourself without your room key at that hour, the two emergency numbers listed nor God above will be able to save you from sleeping under the Colorado stars...if you keep that in mind you'll be ok. Overall we enjoyed our stay here very much.

Perfect!

We enjoyed our stay very much. While the hotel is not in Telluride proper, it has good onsite restaurant and is very quiet. Breakfast was excellent, good selection and tasty. Room was fairly big as well. Staff was helpful as well. Overall, very happy.

Good Alternate to staying in Telluride

Posted 10-Mar-2017
Pros: Location, friendliness of staff, rustic atmosphere.
Cons: The day desk man had no change, so I couldn't leave housekeeping a tip.
Location: Telluride and the national forests!
Great location in Placerville, CO, about 15 minutes from Telluride. Nice and quiet, without the hustle of Telluride. The staff was great, especially the bartender. She was friendly and knows the area well. Also, the evening desk man was very friendly.

Pros: Proximity to Telluride Ski Area. Excellent continental breakfast.
Cons: Better signage on main road. We drove past in the dark as we went down the canyon.
Location: Close to ski area and Town of Telluride, Co. Good access to hiking and biking and fishing.
This is a newer facility with nice rooms, a restaurant and bar. Friendly atmosphere.

Telluride hotel option

A great choice for skiing at Telluride. Short drive in the morning to the slopes at a fraction of the cost of being in town.

Nice, convenient place near Telluride

Posted 07-Feb-2017
We were visiting my brother in law and his family in Telluride and needed a place to stay. Their place was too small to accommodate us. We attempted (unsuccessfully) to book a couple places via airbnb, and after checking the prices on every other hotel, we decided on the Angler Inn, even though it was out of town. I was pleasantly surprised. It was a very nice place. The drive to Telluride was not bad at all and totally worth not having to find a place to park overnight in town. I will probably be staying here from now on, since it was so easy.
