Quiet, Scenic Setting; Great Burger

Posted 19-Aug-2015
Pros: Quiet. Scenic Attentive and friendly staff. (owners apparently hands on). Lunch and/or dinner. Clean room, comfortable beds, decent bathroom
Cons: The included continental breakfast set up. It's buffet style of course, laid out on the bar in the bar/restaurant. Get there early or slim pickins
Location: A bit out of town but close enough. Located in the San Juan Mountains near Tellurinde. That says it all. Ride the free Gondola in Telluride.
This place is "out of town", just shy of Placerviile, but only by about 15 minutes and the commute is about as attractive as any in the country. The location is quiet and scenic. The rooms are very sparely decorated but tastefully so, just the essentials, clean and complete (One nit to pick, both nights of our stay the housekeeper left only one hand towel and one wash cloth. It's fronted by a bar/restaurant that gets local traffic to complement the guest traffic. The food is very good. The burgers (both beef and bison) are among the best either of us ever consumed. The "bacon relish" is a great garnish for a burger (if you are a carnivore). Two floors, no elevator so pack light here. The prices of a nice room is 40% or more less than you would pay for comparable lodging in Telluride proper.

Good alt location if you're going to Telluride

Great, clean rooms - reasonably price! Restaurant food was good - I had Philly cheesesteak.

Simple clean country living

Posted 10-Aug-2015
Pros: Open space - rooms and area.
Location: Fishing across the street; Telluride visit - hiking, biking, shopping, dining.
Very friendly staff with good Telluride recommendations. Our room was large, airy and clean; there were 2 adults and 2 children. Minimal amenities - no dressers/coffee maker - and a bit noisy since it's right on the main road to Telluride. The deck and sliding glass doors opened to a nice small grassy area and we could feel the mountain air. We appreciated that since most lodging has no way to get fresh air. The breakfast was good, fresh and healthy. There are no stores or restaurants besides the one at the lodge nearby. We were hoping to stay another night but it was booked. Good location for a Telluride visit - about 15 minutes away.

Pros: Fairly new building made to look old and recently renovated
Cons: The shower has too much power and could not be adjusted. It made the top of my ear bleed!
My step-son and I spent the night as this facility was ideal for our fishing trip. Location was great and the name, The Angler Inn" really caught our attention

What an AWESOME SURPRISE!

Posted 29-Jul-2015
Pros: Absolutely everything!
Cons: Everything was perfect!!!
Location: Placerville is not much more than a wide spot in the road about 10 miles before you get to Telluride. Therefore, the scenery is breath-taking!
We were wanting to find a room in the Telluride area, but due to price constrictions, were having a hard time. We stumbled upon the Angler Inn in Placerville and decided to take a chance as their pictures on their website looked promising. When we got to Placerville, we were absolutely delighted with what we saw!!! This is a very small hotel, but absolutely adorable. Not only was the room awesome, the food at the restaurant was even better. (The Short Ribs are amazing!) So, the accommodations were awesome, the food was awesome and the staff was awesome as well! (Especially Willow, who greeted us warmly every time we returned to the hotel from one of our amazing adventures!) Can't wait to get back there!!!

Nice place in a great area.

Posted 28-Jul-2015
Pros: I like that the Inn had a common area where the kids could hang out safely. The restaurant and game room was really great. Restaurant on property.
Location: Close to Telluride and Ridgeway. River for fishing and lots of parks for picnics.
Its an Inn so with that you hear the people above you and the plumbing in the walls.. but the ambiance makes up for it. The staff is nice and helpful and the breakfast was perfect. We did eat at the restaurant and the food was great. The fireplace was broken the whole time we were there which was a bummer but we would go again.

Stay close to Telluride at a lower cost

Posted 22-Jul-2015
Pros: The room
Cons: The landscaping. The hotel is not being well-maintained.
Location: Fish. Visit Telluride.
We wanted to stay in Telluride but settled for a hotel in Placerville, close to Telluride. The Angler Inn was very comfortable and sensibly priced. The room was big, clean and comfortable, although the AC/heater unit was very noisy. The exterior of the building stone-work needs repair and the landscaping is overgrown. But the room and interior were fine.
