Lovely place to stay
This was a lovely spot to stay, clean, quiet and beautiful. The grounds look out at woods and prairie. The inside is clean and cute. Plus, a hot tub! Mary Jo is so kind and helpful. Make sure you know it’s a kitchenette not a full kitchen, but it is well stocked and worked for our needs. I would definitely come back!

My 2020 Covid stay
I couldn’t get reimburse for my Covid cancellation. But had to rebook & pay again ? The 1st rebook the dates got screwed up. So at this point I’d like to see 50% or more credit on this stay . But haven’t seen anything at this time . Otherwise I payed twice to stay there once.

Girls weekend
We had a great time, lots of laugh, the last day we looked for a toaster for our bagels, we could not find. So we packed everything up and did one last sweep and open a closet and found the toaster oven. We laughed so hard. We did not use the hot tub but looked like fun. Glad i read the reviews so knew no sink or stove as we had to rethink our food.

Beautiful place!
Beds very comfortable. Very clean. Spacious. Bathroom was great. Super confused how to use hot tub, never asked and didn't really have time, seems like one needed to ask permission as it was locked up. Paper work left out looked like an additional fee was needed, no sure, but again didn't ask. Really a wonderful place and met our needs very well. Owner very nice.

A comfortable, private apartment close to Taylors Falls
I'm always a little hesitant to book Vrbo's that are part of the host's home for fear of awkward interactions, but this apartment feels very private - it has its own entryway around the back of the house and you get the entire bottom floor of the house to yourself. There is a private patio area for the guest apartment with a fire pit and lovely landscaping, as well as an enclosed hot tub. It was clean, comfortable and spacious, and on the rare occasions we did run into MaryJo in the driveway she was very friendly and respectful. She also responded quickly to questions via the app and was generally a great host. Wonderful place to stay while visiting the beautiful Taylors Falls/St. Croix Falls area!

Clean, spacious, lot of towels, nicely decorated and thoughtful extras (candy dish and winery passes). This is the walk-out basement with owners upstairs. Could occasionally hear foot steps above, so maybe not so "romantic". Hot tub worked fine. Also, be aware there is no sink in kitchenette area. I think it does say this, but if you try to cook or grill, it's a little inconvenient to run to bathroom for water and dishes. Just plan ahead. We grilled steaks, enjoyed the fire pit, and thought this was an overall good value and location to the state parks.

Girls Weekend
We had a wonderful time during our stay in Taylors Falls. We arrived and everything was as expected and was even pleasantly surprised with the little touches Maryjo left out. There was a nice binder with instructions and activities to welcome us, and even a little candy tray. These touches were great. Parking was a little challenging as there was a camper parked on the pavement. I didn't want to block anyone in and it was tight. The only reason why I gave it a 4 star was we were notified the hot tub was broken. I have asked for a refund 3 times for the hot tub fee, and have not gotten a response from the owner. A little disappointing, but overall a fantastic stay.

Our stay was a good experience overall. The property is in a good location, clean and nice accommodations. Only complaint was the hot tub. I specifically sought out that amenity. We drove about 4.5 hrs and 15 minutes prior to our earliest check-in time, the owner messaged that the hot tub was not working. Seemed a little fishy! Broached the topic of a refund and nothing doing from the owner there either. Outside of that, we still had a good trip. Just bummed how that all went down!

Robert and crew were great guests. Communicated well with host. Unfortunately after the hottub cleaners cleaned the day of Roberts arrival, when they went to start it up it would not come on. I informed Robert as soon as I knew of this. As its stated in the Amenities section on my site the hottub will and may break down from time to time. I strive to inform guests of any unforeseen incident that may happen. I do not charge for the use of the hottub! yet I offered a discount on a future stay. I was also bummed my hottub broke down:, as repairs are extremely expensive:(

As the property manager I strive to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I make myself available for questions or assistance, but also respect your privacy as guests. In this case I want to express my reaction to David’s groups stay. The guests were given a list of house rules along with hottub rules. They agreed and stated that they read and understood them. Durring the course of their stay, I had several interactions with them in regards to illegal smoking of marijauna in the unit. Staying in the hottub while drinking alcohol until early morning hours. This lead to the local police calling me to let me know the neighborhood people were complaining. These are a few interactions I had with them during their stay. Due to the excessive over use of the hottub as well as dumping of alcohol into the hottub, it seized the pump motor and it had to be replaced. Which effected the stay of the guests arriving after them. As it was unusable. This situation could have been avoided if David’s group had followed the reasonable rules and expectations listed on the waiver they read and signed.

Great Little Oasis
We enjoyed staying here as our base camp for our trip to MN. There is so many outdoor adventures nearby we needed more time to visit everything. This place was beautiful, comfortable and clean. We would spend the day out enjoying MN adventures then relax playing games on the patio all night. Marijo was an attentive and gracious host. Had a wonderful time and no issues with our stay.

Cozy escape!
Plenty of space and privacy- it was like staying in a guest house! Comfy bedding and plenty of blankets and electric fireplaces to keep cozy! The hot tub was awesome, obviously. And only a short drive to get to Taylor Falls or St Croix and enjoy the cute shops and the beautiful parks.

Thai place is perfect for a weekend getaway! The facilities are clean and well maintained. The host is responsive and pleasant. The location is right next door to st crouch and taylor’s falls and two state parks! Would highly recommend this

Very Clean, but Not Exactly a "Romantic" Getaway
Saw this property and thought it might be a great First Anniversary Romantic Getaway, as listed. Don't get me wrong, the property is VERY NICE! Did have a slight hiccup as another one posted when we first arrived. Door was locked, although the description said it would be unlocked. Called the owner with no answer and then about 5 minutes later got a text with the code. So not a huge deal. My biggest issue is that when I think of Romantic Getaway, I think of a place, all by yourself, and no excess noise or people around. When we arrived, we were oddly stared at by one of the children. Haha Now, I kinda thought this would be an entire property to ourselves. Come to find out, this is a split level home and the VRBO is for the downstairs unit. SO BE AWARE! YOU MAY BE SHARING YOUR STAY WITH THE OWNER. Again, not a big deal, unless you are looking for that quiet romantic night out. The kid (or kids not sure) were overall very respectful and quiet; however, there were times my wife and I could hear the kids running around upstairs. No yelling or screaming which was good. But also, when you are looking for a getaway (ecspecially if you are getting away from the kids for a weekend) you want TOTAL peace and quiet. So yes, great place if you are okay with the occasional feet trampling and the possibility of being stared at from the windows above. Otherwise host was very nice, place was clean, and the little touches like filtered water available, compillimentary shampoo, conditioner, and plenty of towels for the shower and hot tub were nice.

Perfect fishing trip
I came to the area for a week to fish the St. Croix river. The location was perfect! Maryjo was an awesome host. The place was super clean and perfect for us to stay for the trip. There is wildlife all over! It honestly couldn't have been much better.

Great spot for us
We didn’t spend that much time at the property, but when we were there it was great. Everything was very clean and the host was flexible and responsive. The hot tub was great! The unit is below the hosts house, but it still felt private. One thing I did not realize from the online listing is there is no kitchen sink. Overall, we would definitely stay there again!

Wonderful out of the way haven
Decided to stay here recently for a family vacation. First I mistakenly put in the wrong dates but the property owner was gracious and changing for me with no problem. Upon arriving we found a beautiful spot away from everyone else where we could listen to The birds enjoy the outdoor fireplace and hot tub. The owner was friendly and greeted us when we arrived. The home is beautifully decorated and very clean. We found everything that we needed. There is so much to do in the area we explored and then relaxed every evening. My husband and I got up every morning to take a walk down the road and only saw a car twice in the three days we were there. If you are looking for a place to get away this is perfect

Sorry your expectations were not met. We take pride in providing clear and accurate information in our listing and are happy to answer any questions guests may have. The pontoon rental is sent with each booking for guests to get pricing and instructions on reserving the rental. The pontoon does need to be booked in advance if you want to guarantee it’s use. We have numerous lakes and rivers to enjoy within a very close proximity. Best regards for your future traveling expierences.

My sister and I had a nice getaway, and this place was perfect for us. We enjoyed the shaded patio in the evenings for grilling and visiting, beautiful wooded property, comfy beds, and spacious living areas. The concrete pathway down to the entrance was perfect for using a Walker and rolling suitcases & coolers. The host greeted us was available to answer questions/needs.

Relaxing and Peaceful
We we’re celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and stayed for five nights. A very quiet and private location. Enjoyed early morning coffee on the patio listening to the birds. The humming birds were especially a joy. The house was very clean with modern decor. We really enjoyed our stay. Just wish we had more time to enjoy the place, as we were out and about on outdoor adventures most of the day. We would definitely come back

Fantastic location, very clean and has a hot tub!!
To understand what one is renting, the property is the basement of the owner's home, but that shouldn't turn you away from renting the place. The house is in such a great location - in the country but only a few minutes drive to Taylor's Falls. The place is very clean and feels so welcoming. There is a microwave, tabletop oven and a gas grill for cooking. There isn't a kitchen so planning ahead allows renters to bring things to heat up OR support the local establishments! There is FANTASTIC food to be had 5 minutes away up to 20 minutes away! The attraction for us was the hot tub, which is clean and large enough to fit this 6' 8" tall man. Since it was December, we used the tub every evening after being out for dinner. Thank you Maryjo for providing such a great place!
