Originally two army cottages, it was extended by renowned New Zealand architect John Scott in the 1970s giving it a distinctly Kiwi flavour. Scott is widely regarded for letting the materials speak for themselves and here the Matai weatherboards, floorboards and exposed ceilings speak loudly of an era when the New Zealand bach was a simple and functional abode, exquisitely proportioned for the quintessential summer holiday. The home has 2 bedrooms offering various bedding configurations and 1.5 bathrooms. • Bedroom 1: 1 California King Bed • Bedroom 2: 1 King Bed Perfectly positioned in one of the most sought after streets in Taupo with a north easterly aspect that catches both morning and afternoon sun. The charming upper level features a cosy open plan living and dining area and a small but functional and original kitchen beautifully capturing the lake and mountain views. Downstairs boasts two comfortable double bedrooms, and a bathroom. Set on a very sheltered and private section, the house has retained all of its original features. When making a booking request please include information on the age range of the guests intending to stay and your plans for while you are in Taupō. We have a strict no large group or parties policy, disruption to the neighbours will not be tolerated. If we are notified of parties or illegal activity you will be evicted.
