We were greeted by a dead roach by the stick lamp as we entered the room. The bath towels were ridiculously thin. The bath mat was 1/3 missing. I t should have been discarded last year. The bath tub drain was slow to drain the shower water. Water collected at the bottom of the tub. We would not return to this location.

I booked it because it was convenient or so I thought. I the room was nasty. The floor was dirty. The sheets had stains in them. We didn’t even stay the second night. I booked a different hotel somewhere else. Didn’t feel safe. Just not worth the money. Don’t recommend.

I’d like to start by saying that the staff was very nice. And being pet friendly is a bonus. The deposit was quite steep for the property condition. My room in particular was not ok. Though clean, it sure wasn’t comfortable in the least. The AC unit wouldn’t heat and it was freezing cold. The door wasn’t flush leaving a gap for the cold outside air to get in. The room was obviously smoked in and so much so that my eyes and throat burned all night. True it was NYE but seemingly there were only a handful of guests so the fact that all the occupied rooms were rented together and only one or two were occupied by partiers (on the second floor no less,) meant the rest of us couldn’t sleep. I’m a little peeved that when I brought the issues to the manager’s attention no compensation was offered. Being a local, (staying close by my parents house after my father’s passing,) you’d think they would want to make a better impression for our city’s hospitality.

Our security deposit is about as low as can be considering your own room rate and the incidental holds of 100-200+ taken by other properties in our segment downtown. I wish you had let one of our agents at the front desk know, as they could have helped set the A/C to your liking or even moved your room, if needed. We generally rent rooms throughout the property, spaced out as much as possible. With a third-party reservation, we cannot provide a refund, though we can give a discount for a future stay if you choose to book directly with us. Have a nice day.

Please note that our listing on Expedia notes weekly (not daily) housekeeping services for multi-night stays, and this was also something you signed for at check-in. Regarding the room, our head housekeeper confirmed to me that it was cleaned the day of your arrival; additionally, our pillows are the standard size, and since there is only one bed, we provide 4 for that reason as opposed to 3 each in units with 2 beds. Red Roof Inn prices were about $500 a night due to the FSU game event and the condition of the hotel was terrible. The A/C vents were filled with dust and debris, there was a roach on the wall, and it smelled of mist. The small refrigerator was not cleaned properly. Lastly, there was no breakfast included as it was advertised and 2 or the 3 room keys were not working.

There are multiple games throughout the year, though Family Weekend is always the busiest (which is why our rate was higher than usual game weekends). However, please note that you chose our location because it was still significantly cheaper than most places downtown. Additionally, we routinely check our listings, and I can confirm that breakfast is not shown as one of our offerings at any point of the booking process of our page. Sometimes keeping keys near phones or other electronic devices messes with their programming; furthermore, all of them were made at the same time, meaning that either all or none would work, rather than 1 out of 3. I will have our maintenance person evaluate the other items you mentioned, though I believe your main point of contention was the extra person fee, since you paid for 2 people but tried to check in with 4 on the day of arrival and wanted us to waive it despite it being a clearly-stated policy in our guidelines. I was notified of this by my front desk agent who said you spoke to him the morning of your checkout. After further investigation, it appears that the curtain was cleaned, but our new laundry attendant accidentally put the machine on the wrong setting and so it did not remove any deep stains (though was otherwise freshly laundered) or keep it in a condition where it would smooth out naturally in the open air. We have since replaced it and appreciate your bringing this to our attention. Have a nice day.

When we arrived there was no one to check us in. After 10 minutes, I called the motel and the person who answered was rude, but did finally come to the desk. Motel is well located, decent room for overnite. No frills.

Poor tv as there was no volume on many channels and no ESPN. Bed was comfortable.

Thank you for leaving us a review. I am disappointed to see that you had trouble with the TV in your room; however, I just checked it, and the remote/buttons were all fine. We also have ESPN and ESPN2, so if you were having difficulty, I'm sure one of our front desk agents would have been glad to assist you if asked. Have a nice day.

The property has given up on landscape maintenance, it looks like an abandoned building. The bed was comfortable and that is only positive. The shower is ridiculous, no pressure, forget washing your hair. The floor was visibly dirty. The door barely closed and latched. We will never stay here again. The front desk people were very nice. Money needs to be spent to maintain the outside and install new showers and doors.

I am not sure what you mean by "given up"; we regularly have a service come and tidy our surroundings, though we do not have anything fancy (if that is what you meant). We generally do not have issues with the showerheads, but I will have our maintenance person check this and determine if the existing one needs to be replaced. The deadbolt and latch do work, however, and one of our agents could have helped you with this if asked. Have a nice day.
