My mom and I stayed 2 nights and we enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is a little dated, however, I think it suited the traditional ryokan experience. Our suite was huge. There was a large sitting room, a bedroom, a smaller sitting room looking out onto the city from the bedroom, and separate bathing, sink, and toilet areas, in addition to a small balcony. The hotel was a bit of a walk up the hill, about 20 minutes from the train station, but manageable even with our luggage. From the hotel, we had a gorgeous view of the town. The public bath was more like a private bath as when we went, it was just us. The hotel is right next to the park so we went for walks in the morning before breakfast. The fresh air and the greenery were idyllic. We did not have dinner but we had the breakfast which was delicious and very filling. The staff were polite and respectful; very typical of the excellent Japanese hospitality.
