Gourmet breakfasts in Italian Renaissance setting!

Posted 05-Nov-2016
Pros: Although grand in size, we enjoyed the homey, cozy atmosphere Toni and Martin have created in their gorgeous Italian style villa. The gardens are lush and the views at breakfast were mesmerizing. The clientele during our stay was delightfully diverse and the innkeepers often joined in our stimulating and informative conversations after our meals were served. The extent to which our hosts tailored the morning feasts to each guest's dietary requests was unmatched. The food was of the highest quality, varied each day and was presented with a stylish flair. Fresh fruit boats with flavorful yogurt, individual French toast casseroles, bacon or smoked pork chops, vegetable frittatas, toasted artisan breads, and a variety of juices and coffees were just some of the items we consumed each morning. We also enjoyed the easy, on-street parking at the front entrance in this quiet, conveniently located residential neighborhood. Our innkeepers were quite knowledgeable about the area and suggested many fun things to do and how to locate them. We'll have to return when we have more time to take in all the suggested activities.
Cons: We can't think of a thing that would have made this stay any better.

Location: Glass museum and historical museum nearby as well as waterfront and restaurants.
Beautifully maintained historical residence. We were not able to stay for breakfast but it smelled delicious. Our hosts were very attentive.

Tony was an excellent hostess. Very friendly and professional. Each morning, breakfast was served in the sunroom. Yogurt smothered under mounds of fresh fruit was only the first course. A hot egg dish followed with fresh juice and coffee.

Great B&B in Tacoma

Posted 31-Jul-2016 on Hotels
Had a week long conference at University of Puget Sound and was looking for someplace other than the college dorms. This property came up on the search for lodging near the university so we booked it. Great Choice! Turned out another couple from the conference also had booed it so we made a good choice. Room was very nice and the bathroom is fantastic. One concern was the lack of A/C, normally don't need it in Tacoma but of course the week we were there was above average temperature. Turned out to not really be a problem as we were gone all day and in the evenings the temperature dropped and was very comfortable. The Breakfasts were always great and varied. The veranda's are very nice for evening relaxation, watching the sunsets over the Olympic mountains. Rare weather that Mount Rainer was quite visable all the time we were there. Great find and someplace we will consider next time we are in Tacoma.

Pros: The architectural character of the house
Location: It is not far to Ruston Way on the water of Commencement Bay. It is a pretty drive. Also driving through the local area.
I have long admired the stately homes in this area of Tacoma, so we were excited to actually stay in one of the historic homes. We were not disappointed. The house was very beautiful but also comfortable and the staff were very considerate in accommodating our needs.
