Dated but clean

Posted 20-Aug-2015
Pros: It was convenient to family.
Cons: Having heavier drapes that would go across the entire window.
Location: The hotel is at a very busy intersection. There were plenty of places to eat. The Weyerhauser gardens are close by as well as Dash Point State Park.
The hotel is close to a corner that is very busy. It was a little tricky getting into the parking lot because of the traffic pattern. That being said, the noise wasn't that noticeable in the room. The drapes were different. There were two sets of sheers and a set of drapes that were for looks only. If the rod had gone across the entire width of the window, it would have blocked the sunrise. We used a clothespin to secure the drapes closed. We felt uncomfortable that perhaps people passing by in the cars might be able to see right into the room after dark with the lights on in the room. The hotel had been recently purchased by Red Lion and there were plans posted in the lobby of the improvements that were planned. Rosie at the front desk was polite and charming. She smiled and appeared to like her job. The breakfast was full and hot at the beginning of the posted time. My son ate later and said there wasn't much left. (He should get up earlier, I say!) This is the first hotel that I have seen shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap in a wall container. I think this is a step in the right direction... less packaging and waste to landfills. Kudos!

Too close to freeway

Posted 16-Aug-2015
Was loud and the furniture is old in the room. Door appeared to have been pried in the past as well as dresser had a piece missing from the corner

Former Super 8

Posted 13-Aug-2015
Was not aware that the hotel was under construction. This hotel was formerly Super 8, so if you can imagine there was a lot to be done and there was construction happening during our stay. I felt safer and better sleeping in my car. The website should have mentioned that it was under construction and provided discounts for guests during this time.

Disappointed!

Posted 10-Aug-2015
Pros: They did allow us to check in before 3pm.
Cons: Improve on maintenance and breakfast service
Before we checked in, we went to the restroom near the lobby and it was filthy! Garbage can overflowed onto the floor...No paper towels to wipe our hands. Terrible first impression! Room drapes did not cover entire window - only thin sheer curtain - folks on the street in parking lot, could see in the room. Also, TV signal was lost in the morning - And the breakfast area was not managed to make sure we had coffee and that the tables were cleaned off. Garbage can was overflowing!

Nice hotel Close to Seattle

It's a bit spendy for what you get, but other than that it is good.

Not near the airport

Posted 04-Aug-2015
Pros: Price
Location: Not a great location.
We booked this hotel room thinking it is near the airport. It is not. It is also not a nice hotel. The rooms might have been ok, but when we arrived and saw the shady characters milling about and the realize that we weren't near the airport we quickly cancelled.

Great Place to stay with friendly staff

Posted 03-Aug-2015
Cons: I think they were in a remodel stage so there was a room that was open that had a bunch of crap in it and the hallway was a bit dusty for a red lion.
We called and booked that night to bail us out of a bad hotel and the staff was very helpful. The rooms were great and the breakfast was good. I would totally return!

Not the Red Lion that Used to Be

Posted 31-Jul-2015
Pros: The location is convenient for travelers driving up I-5.
Cons: New carpets, new and upgraded floors, doors, hallways. An elevator would be great.
Location: We were just passing though on the way to visit a relative. It's about halfway between Tacoma and Seattle.
This hotel was not up to par. While room furnishings were appeared clean and adequate, hallways, doors, etc. were grimy. The first room we were sent to (note: there is NO elevator in this facility) was uninhabitable due to a strong chemical odor. The staff was pleasant but I would not call this place "three star" and "two star" might be too generous.

Nice hotel and away from the main shopping areas

Posted 29-Jul-2015
Pros: although this is an older building the rooms have redone to modernize.
Cons: the free breakfast was limited, WIFI in room was limited. the hall colour could be updated, seems to be in the 70's
Location: away from the main shopping areas, had two small malls nearby.
an older building and has some updating, the rooms were clean, free parking and the front desk was helpful. Had free WIFI in lobby and rooms.
