Perfect hotel for a show at the Dome!

Posted 23-May-2016
Stayed here a few times in the past when I was much younger and they've done some serious redecorating since then! The lobby and our room were very clean and had a great look to them. Lots of room, comfy beds, perfect walking distance to the Tacoma Dome! Only downside was the continental breakfast was small but they have a restaurant with more food options. Would strongly recommend!

Paid two weeks in advance. Called at 2pm On the arrival date and told them I would arrive between 9-11 pm. Arrived at 10 pm and they did not have any rooms available they had my reservation documented but no room available. After 45 minutes found a room. Don't trust them. Would never go back.

Industrial location but nicely remodeled

Posted 28-Apr-2016
Pros: Tasteful decor.
Cons: New AC unit that's a bit quieter
Location: Nothing nearby. It's an off-freeway industrial location. Not unsafe, but have to drive to do anything.
Our room had been remodeled only weeks ago, so it was fresh and shiny -- although the plumbing and AC unit were leftovers and just okay.

Construction and cheap hard bagels in a scary area

Posted 20-Apr-2016
This is NOT a good place to stay! I could look past the construction, the HWY noise, and the seedy people wandering the lobby and halls but the advertised "full breakfast" that we were use to from other motels in this chain was totally missing in this motel. All they offered In the "bar" area was old hard bagels, bad coffee and cold cereal. This motel is not worth the money in any area. The bed was old and not at all comfortable. We were provided with one tiny shampoo for two people. Carpets are stained and mold was growing under the rim of the bathroom sink! I would not recommend this motel to anyone!

Poor customer service

Posted 15-Apr-2016
Pros: Close to my destination
Cons: Customer service and cleanliness.
Hotel was under renovation which is fine, but when I checked in my room was in terrible shape. The bed was made but had not been changed, there were food crumbs all over the floor, dresser tops and desk tops, and none of the garbage had been taken out. I advised the desk staff of the issue and left for three hours in which time they said it would be cleaned. I returned and nothing had been touched. I complained again and cleaning staff came to the room and finally cleaned in my presence. One of the two cleaning staff was a complete jerk about it.

Noisy and dirty room

Posted 17-Mar-2016
We booked two rooms for an one night stay. Their beds were dirty, I can say their pillow covers and sheets were used for days without changing and laundry. The hotel is closed to I5 which is convenient for business traveling people. However, their rooms are terrible on isolating noises. My kids couldn't sleep well because of the traffic noises. Not good for families.

La Quinta under contruction

Posted 13-Mar-2016
Pros: I am unable to think of anything worth mentioning that I liked.
Cons: Have staff learn about area they live and work in so they can help guests enjoy their stay. Acknowledgement of the construction happening.
Location: Went to the Tacoma area to enjoy some fishing in the Puget Sound. Found some nice restaurants, breweries and shopping in the Tacoma art district.
Motel is in the middle of a remodel, seemed unorganized. Bathrooms near onsite restaurant were very dirty and had plugged toilets. We did not have hot water in bathroom sink of our room. For a 3 star rating I would expect more overall cleanliness, better continental breakfast (since motel has restaurant onsite I feel like they wanted you to order from the restaurant menu), covered pool / hot tub area. The staff was not knowledgeable about area at all, could not answer any questions regarding activities, restaurants or shopping.
