Has potential but very worn.

Posted 09-Aug-2017
Pros: Majority of the staff was friendly. Just not very helpful. The bed was comfy enough. Bite (on site restaurant) had good food and service.
Cons: The entire hotel is ready for a remodel.
Location: Close to the Tacoma Dome and Point Defiance Zoo.
We had an event at this hotel and if it wasn't for that, we would have switched hotels. I had requested a microwave the week before and agreed to the minimal fee. When we arrived, they didn't have one available. We had a jr. suite which was spacious but the bathroom was very small. Our room was very worn and the tub/shower was dirty with a lot of hair in it. Thankfully, I travel with cleaning wipes. There were also dark curly hairs on the tray the coffee maker set on.

The room was clean and beautifully decorated. Room service was also very prompt, friendly, and the food was great. Check in and checkout was quick and painless, and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Just big and business-like

Posted 22-Jul-2017
Pros: Bed was really comfortable.
Location: Next to the free tram in Tacoma and you can walk along the waterway there although it's pretty dead.
This hotel is more suited to business and conference guests. As a tourist it wasn't really the right place for me, there's not a lot to do and see in Tacoma and I really stayed there because I thought it was easy access to a concert I was going to out east of Auburn (traffic made that a nightmare so should've stayed closer!). The staff are only just pleasant and generally quite uninterested in their tone. The place has little atmosphere - it really is just a business hotel. My room was OK however it was "accessible" and the bathroom and room doors and the first bed all sort of crashed into each other making the room odd to get in and out. Can't really recommend it.

Visiting family

Posted 13-Jul-2017
First room had pubic hair on the back of the toilet and I discovered old dried blood on my pillow case the next morning. We were upgraded to VIP the next day which included a continental breakfast that was very good. Our second room was very nice and cleAn. This was our second time staying at The Murano and we will stay there again. It's just old enough to need a little updating i.e.: wallpaper is starting to peel away, paints a little worn, caulking in shower a bit black. Staff is exceptionally nice and the woman at the desk was appalled about our first room.

Overnight for Concert and Art On The Ave

Posted 11-Jul-2017
Last might trip to Tacoma from Kelowna, BC to catch the Mariners and Katchafire at Jazzbones. Upon arrival, the front desk staff were super friendly and helped me out with all questions and directions. Upgraded me on quite a few things as well. Hotels got a cool and new modern vibe with the art and feeling of it all. Room was on the 24th floor and was super clean, spacious, comfortable with a great east view of Mt. Rainier. Got back from the reggae show which was great and the Longe was still open and had a few drinks... everything was easy about my stay there, thanks hotel staff.

Postcard view Mt Rainier & ART

Posted 10-Jul-2017
Cons: Wardrobe closet didn't close. More drawers would have been nice.
Nice hotel close to museums with fine art on site. Hotel staff friendly, competent & prompt. T.V. Was not working, repairman arrived to fix within 15 minutes. Was only disconnected cord. Clean. Reception suggested I photograph valet stub in case I lost it. Nice touch.
