high highs, low lows

Posted 27-Aug-2015
We originally had a Patron room, so the beds were amazing, and there were a few extra toiletries, and small things like that. When the booking was made I had requested something specific for our room/tv that wasn't provided. Trying to get that taken care of was a HUGE hassle, and the woman I dealt with at the desk was rude. We were moved the following day to a smaller, less comfortable room that had what we wanted. The woman running room service was AMAZING, the valets were great, wait staff in the restaurant were also great, and the front desk supervisor and morning manager worked hard to make it right. It's a bummer that we lost one of our two nights, but I understand things happen, and they worked to make it right.

No room

Posted 26-Aug-2015
We had pre-paid for our room on Expedia, but when we arrived exhausted after a long day around 930 PM, we were told they were full, had given our room away to someone else. They sent us to a Courtyard Marriott Hotel nearby. But of course if we wanted to stay at the Marriott, we would have reserved there. Hotel lobby looked lovely, no idea how the rooms or other facilities are. Not sure how they can turn away customers who have already paid for their rooms...

Stayed with two kids for three nights.

Posted 24-Aug-2015
We enjoyed the hotel and the beautiful view of Mt. Rainier for three nights while taking in Wild Waves in Tacoma and the Children's Museum in Olympia. Hotel is very clean and the rooms are comfortable. Definitely an upgrade from the family hotels near the Tacoma Dome last year. Self parking is reasonable and your car is secure. The hotel art makes the hotel interesting and vibrant. Lack of pool in the hotel may deter some families, but the hotel is very nice for Tacoma. We will stay again.

Fancy-schmancy

Posted 16-Aug-2015
The hotel was very posh and maintained very well. However I would say that the staff were severely lacking tact and experience. The two working the front desk when I checked in couldn't have been more than 21 years old and their immaturity showed. The staff had problems activating my cards to enter my room and use the elevators and I thought that was quite inconvenient. The hotel itself was lovely, the amenities were lovely, and my room has a spectacular view of the water on the 25th floor. Worth it!

Dear J - Thank you for your recent stay at Hotel Murano. We appreciate your review and feedback. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the hotel and your guestroom however I was disappointed to learn that the service that you received at the front desk was lacking. Pros: The staff and location. The room was lovely. We enjoyed the artwork on display on each floor as well.
Location: Enjoyed the Old Town and the museum.
Lovely hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Karen in the bar. She gave us many and restaurant ideas.

Convenient location, interesting artwork

The key cards for the elevator and the room were inconsistent. Several times we were caught in the elevator unable to make the key card work. The room was clean and relatively sound proof for being tucked in behind the elevators. The beds were comfortable however, be aware they are double bed size. My feet hung off the end of the bed and I'm 5'7" tall. We tried to find something to eat at midnight. All food options were closed. Room service was non-existent (we ordered food but it wasn't processed). The bar was open, but not serving food. The coffee creamer in the room was curdled so no coffee for me in the am. This was an ok stay. Not worth the extra money spent for what was provided.

Beautiful hotel, horrible customer service

Posted 04-Aug-2015
We stayed here for 4 nights and discovered it to be a beautiful hotel. That is the good part. The staff are rude, incompetent, and some of the most disorganized I have ever encountered. The elevators require a key to get to any floor and the software only works 50% of the time, so you spend a LOT of time riding the elevator up and down, up and down. Over 4 days I think I spent about 1 hour total in the elevator trying to get to the right floor and having others say the same thing. The hotel is centrally located in Tacoma, and I would recommend spending time in your room and then away from as any of the staff (including the on site restaurant) as possible to diminish your risk of spending your vacation in a grumpy mood.

Decent hotel within walking distance to dining

Posted 03-Aug-2015
Pros: The restaurant was great.
Cons: Our bathroom in our room was not very clean and the hotel seemed to be under staffed.
Location: Lots of great places to eat. The Children's Museum is within walking distance and the zoo and parks are about a 10 minute drive.
This hotel has a beautiful lobby and great restaurant. The service was just ok but the hotel was booked which probably contributed to the lack of service. It is still the best hotel in the area. Not a bad place for a business traveler but not the best for families since the hotel is without a pool.

Thank you for your recent stay and for your review. I apologize that you experienced a lack of service, as that is certainly not indicative of the experience we look to provide or have become known for. While we do not have a pool on property, we do have a partnership with the YMCA located across the street which allows our guests to utilize their pool and facilities. We hope to see you again in the future. Kind regards, Tom Pavlik, General Manager

No local bars or restaurants near by. Once the sun goes down there is no where to go.

Thank you for your recent stay with us at Hotel Murano. I apologize if our associates did not direct you to one of the many great restaurants or bars that are in walking distance from the hotel. Pacific Avenue is located just two blocks away and features over 20 restaurants and bars and three local breweries. Hopefully you'll get a chance to check them out in the future. Kind regards, Tom Pavlik, General Manager

Great hotel if you're staying in downtown Tacoma.

Posted 20-Jul-2015
Pros: Great rooms, hotel decor was elegant and interesting.
Cons: The bartender in the bar at 1:00 am. Another group came in and she refused to serve them. They were polite and courteous, she was just being lazy.
Location: 2 blocks down the street is a great cowboy bar. Lots of fun.
Large wedding party stayed here for the night of the wedding. Great location, very nice elegant hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
