Close to everything and nice hotel

Good hotel, ask for a high floor. Close to the harbour, the Rocks and The Opera House, as well as the CBD and shopping.

A grand looking hotel in an excellent location. The facilities are pretty good and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable but tired looking. I would use this hotel again.

Very Disappointed

Hotel staff were busy and rushed through check in. Once I entered my room I was appalled at how dirty the room was. It looked like it hadn't even been cleaned! I definitely wont be staying here again. Very disappointing for a supposedly 4 star hotel.

Overrated Hotel in Sydney.

Pros: All the concierge staff. They are very helpful and nice.
Cons: The service and cleaniness.
Location: The hotel is located in a very good spot, and it's closed to many sightseeing places.
I might have a high expectation on this hotel very much because the pictures I saw on the internet were awesome. In reality, what I faced was totally different. The room cleaniness is not smooth. I stayed for 3 nights but the bed sheet had never been changed. Once, the door of the bathroom was accidently locked. I called an reception to figure it out, and she said she would send a repairman to open the door. I was waiting inside the room for a half hour, and nobody appeared. Then, I decided to have a sightseeing for few hours when I came back to the hotel, I expected the door would be fixed. Still, it was locked, so I walked to the reception and tell her (a new person) what was going on. Then, the repairman came and fixed. That was really impressive, wasn't it?

Good location

Pros: The location.
Cons: A room safe. Air conditioning that can be adjusted and turned off at night. The noise was very annoying.
Location: Perfect for shopping, the Rocks, Barangaroo, Circular Quay.
Our room was very standard. Very small. We were very disappointed that there was no room safe. I have never stayed in a hotel room without a safe so did not even think to ask if there was one. I just assumed. Also, we could not adjust the air conditioning and it was way too cold and way too loud. On leaving the hotel, with 2 bags each, we discovered the lift does not go all the way to the parking area. First you must go down steps to the attendant then up other lot of steps to get to your car. The hotel location was perfect for us and we have stayed in the Menzies before but I will never stay there again.

Good location but don't expect too much

Room booked for four but only set up for two. Not enough towels, cups, glasses etc. light globe missing which was unfortunate as room was already a very dark room. Mattresses very lumpy - you could feel the springs. Asked for a late check out then was contacted by reception to find out why we hadn't checked out. One piece of luggage lost when it was stored. Eventually found but one staff member rather rude about it. On plus side - good buffet breakfast. Room was spacious.

Dirty and rooms in desperate need of updating.

Pros: Close to wynyard station, however so are many more.
Cons: The complete hotel
Room was very dirty, overall hotel should close down for renovations and updating, living in the 1980s still.

Great hotel close to transport and facilities

Pros: Excellent staff, and facilities.
Location: Within walking distance of Circular Quay and all the ferries, Darling Harbour with all the restaurants and Maritime Museum, and Sydney Tower Eye.
We arrived in Sydney early and phoned the hotel to see about storing our bags until check-in time and they said come on up. When we arrived we were able to check-in early with an upgrade.
