Excellent location!

Posted 17-Aug-2015
Pros: the location and views
Cons: The system for seating people at breakfast.
We were upgraded to a Harbour View room to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and the room was lovely and the view amazing! The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom spacious and bright and overall the hotel room was lovely. The food at breakfast was lovely however the service and waiting to be seated etc was very disorganised. It was very busy but the system for seating people needs to be improved, having to queue for a considerable period of time is not common in a hotel of this quality. Otherwise, we loved our stay:-)

値段の割に狭い部屋

Posted 13-Aug-2015
清潔なホテルですが、部屋は狭いです、スタッフの対応は問題ありません。立地はいいのですが、ビルに囲まれていて、景色は残念です。

Nice hotel in center business district of Sydney

Posted 10-Aug-2015
Pros: clean, modern, very good breakfast buffet
Cons: hot tub was not warm enough
Location: Very close to the ferries at circular quay from which you can get to the zoo, Manly beach, etc. Close to restaurants, shopping, the opera house.

Positioned close to the Harbour

Posted 03-Aug-2015
Pros: It was clean and tidy.
Cons: Exra glasses in the rooms. Look at under bench sinks in the bathrooms when renovating instead of semi-recessed to give extra room and bench space.
Location: Very easy walking distance to Harbour and Opera House. Week-end Rocks Markets are well worth a visit as is a walk around historical Rocks area.
Disappointed with room size. There were 4 adults and it was hard all getting ready at the same time! Bathroom was small. Only 2 glasses in the bathroom but there were 4 guests. Would be more inclined to believe our room was a 4 star (city view) rather than 5 star. Obviously to get 5 star, with harbour views, you need to pay a lot more than we did! The cleaning staff were excellent and helpful when we needed extra pillows.

Pros:

Let down by the brand

Posted 27-Jul-2015
Pros: Leaving in the morning. With the AC not working it was so nice to get out into the cool Sydney fresh air.
Cons: Fix room AC before the guest arrives. Put covers on the food in the breakfast area to keep the hot food warm. And maybe give the place a refit.
Location: Good location for Circular Quay activities.
My wife and I are always looking to experience different hotels both in Australia and overseas and one chain we have never stayed with is Marriott. Given it's reputatation we expected a fantastic first time experience but were let down by very basic matters that other hotel brands seem to excel at. The biggest issue was the first impression of the hotel. the ground floor entry area looks to be straight out of a Mad Men set. If it doesn't get a facelift soon it's blondewood timber features will find themselves back in fashion.. From there it was downhill. The room AC didn't work and we had a tradesman in our room at 10pm replacing the thermostat. No offer of a room change and the AC just didn't get any better through the night. I had asked for a newspaper to the room for the morning but it didn't arrive. The breakfast buffet was average and probably should have been promoted as a luke warm breakfast as the bacon, eggs, sausages etc were not covered and as a result were at room temperature. Overall the Marriott is nowhere near the standard of the Raddison Blue or the Sofitel. It's not even close and we feel somewhat dudded by the experience.

Great hotel, good facilities, friendly staff. Fantastic location, 10 min walk to Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Ideal for short stay.
