Our rooms AC did not work and due to the Taylor Swift concert there we not other rooms to move too. We had to sleep with our door open and we noticed other people did the same. There was a red stain on the sheets. The WIFI do not work in the room at all even with full signal.

I would not trust the water in this place. The place is quite old and two of the ensuites I rented the shower was cold af.. the rusty water which had a terrible color lasted for a week. The place smells bad. There are plenty of other options for better hostels than this. I will never return to this place and put it in my list of worse of the worse. True story.

It is very good for the price. The doors open with your phone which is cool but sometimes it doesnt work. The rooms are a bit outdated, they need renovation and the shared toilets are not very clean at times. They have common space where you can make new friends and socialise if you are travelling solo. The location cannot be better, it is very central. I would stay again for sure.

Never complained about accomodation before but paid over 200 dollars for 2 nights and the aircon in room provided did not work. First staff member just said all private rooms air con is bad so cant do anything. I tried with a different staff member next, she came with me to try some other rooms where air con was not working in all but 1 which we moved to. Air con stopped working in this room shortly after, went down to staff again and told nothing they can do. Asked for a fan but none available. As windows didnt open the room was ridiculously hot. Showers only provided cold water which i didnt mind as room was so hot but hot water still should be an option.

The shower was covered in hair, the guy who checked us in gave us the wrong bathroom number. The bathroom smelt and had hair on the sink and the room was dusty. The staff being super friendly was the only good thing that made it better.

Great friendly environment. I was in a 4 person room with en-suite facilities for two nights. In my early 50s but still felt connected to the youth who were good company and respectful. Loved the experience

It’s filthy, old and not fit for purpose. Location great, staff all very friendly but they need to open their eyes and tidy up. Everything from the bag storage room to bathrooms and rooms are bad. About as close to a crack den functioning as a business can get. I get this is a backpackers but even they deserve standards. After weeks travelling around at campsites this was a last stop over before jumping on the plane home. There was more wildlife on show here than in the deepest bush areas. Showers on our floor all broken, not cleaned once in 18 hours we were checked in there, door locked but had about 5cm of movement and multiple bodge fixes where break ins (I assume) have been fixed up, badly. Buildings air duct system howled in our room all night, ear plugs were welcome. Mattress, genuinely saw a homeless guy outside sleeping on something that looked in better condition, hallways stunk, the only place that didn’t stink or had any kind of tidy Ed’s and order was reception. It’s laughably bad, even for a backpackers. Can’t really say anything bad about staff interactions, they’re all lovely but someone should be in charge of that s$$tshow.

I like the location of this hostel, it was close to all the different places that we wanted to visit. Showers were not very clean. Plus a weird situation at midnight with a random girl who knocked our door asking us to let her sleep in our room.

Even though they saw i use a walking stick they put us in a room that's up three sets of stairs, had a kettle and cups but no milk or coffee. made to wait a long time before checking in

Once upon a time
A room for 4 bed without a window and only a fan. Within 10 minutes I was swettinv, so I was transferred to a 6 bed with AC. However, it was too small the room that there were not space to open your suitcase, in 7 days thry did not clean the room, there were no bedsheet to cover yourself only the duvet wjich has been used by the previous guess ... so it is durty! Men urinals were flowed. Showers were not clean in 7 days. No utensils in the kitchen to eat. Pricely for what you get.

Only stay if you’re looking to party
This hostel would be perfect for those who are looking to party. However if you’re looking for somewhere cheap to get an ok nights sleep, don’t stay here. The scary canary nightclub is literally right below if you’re on the first floor like we were. You’ll hear everything until very late. Terrible nights sleep for over inflated Mardi Gras weekend prices.
