Really good property! Stayed for two nights. Great value for money - breakfast included was a great bonus. Only downside was there were a lot of ants in the breakfast area and different ant traps like marmalade still out when we were eating breakfast. It wasn’t a massive issue as we just moved seats but it would be great if this was under control :) would stay again if I return to Swindon.

Convenient for out-of-towners visiting the hospital. Great to have the Coates Water Country Park on the doorstep. Would be good to stay again under better circumstances...

We have just returned from a lovely stay at the Sun Inn Swindon and we enjoyed our couple of days spent there. The room we had was clean and comfortable and warm enough at all times. The bed was large and very comfortable and there was a kettle and plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate to make a cuppa. We slept very well both nights and although there was a busy dual carriageway opposite there was no noise from traffic during the night. The food in the restaurant was of a good standard and reasonably priced and we ate breakfast each morning which was very nice with plenty of choice. The burgers we ate one evening were delicious and there were plenty of beverages available on tap. The staff working at the Sun Inn work hard and they we're very polite and attentive and one particular barmaid who also had an food allergy like myself was very helpful and informative helping with the menu. Overall we were very pleased with the service and good food we received and at £90 for a two night stay including a cooked breakfast was tremendous value. Many thanks to all the staff for making our stay a happy and memorable one. 😊

This is my wife and I’s second visit to the Sun Inn and as before found the accommodation exceptionally clean and tidy, plus the food first class. My only minor gripe being the many shallow steps between the actual pub and the annex accommodation.

Pet friendly with a good breakfast.
This is an old pub type inn. We ate dinner and breakfast during our stay and it accomodated pets... The grounds were neat and tidy, but the meal menus were limited. I really enjoyed the breakfast as they had a great take on the Full English. The hashbrowns were excellent (and tasted like Onion Rings) and the bacon tasted like Ham... Quite a treat. It is quite local to the hospital if you are seeing family/friends there.

Stayed here as a stop-over on our way from Norfolk to Bristol. There was a great atmosphere in the pub, good food (we had a bar meal and breakfast there) and the staff were lovely and very nice to our dogs. We would love to come back and stay when the weather is better as the country park, just through from the car park, looked a nice place to walk the dogs, but it was a bit muddy and we were short of time. Highly recommended.

Enjoyable stay
We really enjoyed our stay here, rooms were spacious and clean. Breskfast was a hood start to the day. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Ideal place for a stay.
Stay was great, if we could we would have stayed longer, an excellent place to use as a base for days out to local attractions. Room was great, nice and comfy, good tea and coffee facilities. Barry and the team were great, still providing breakfast, even though the kitchen was having a refit. Overall a lovely place to spend a few days, definitely will return next year. A big thumbs up from us.

The room was ok. The food from the adjoining pub was poor and in part inedible. Long wait times, wrong orders, and generally not somewhere I'd choose to revisit. Shame as the place has lots of potential but was lacking in quite a few areas. The lack of clientele for a pub with good outside seating and children's area in hot weather speaks for itself really.

hello glenn we are sorry to hear about your experience and its not the type we expect to deliver, as i was in all day on saturday im saddened that you didnt say anything on the day as im sure we could have gotten you a replacement meal! as for the wait times we anticipate busy periods so we can make customers aware of how long the food will take to come out! as the weather was hot and the garden was full im sure you can understand why we put wait times on!as all my staff are trained to read back the orders i am shocked to find out that was not the case in your situation, i do hope that you will try us again and give us another chance to put this right.many thanksbarry, manager

The Sun Coate
Nice to have clean towels every day. Toiletries good. Pillows too hard for me. Room good. Breakfast good, but not that impressed with evening meal. Never sure when bar was going to close, most nights 10pm. Good access to other places and right next door to Coate Park, which is lovely.

thank you very much for your comments, we are currently redeveloping our food menus to give better quality and range, and unfortunately when it gets later on in the evening we cannot keep the pub open for 4 or 5 people, it just doesn't justify it.but i will pass on your kind words to our housekeeping staff

Lovely room, fantastic food and friendly, helpful staff. Great location too- lovely walk round Coate Water before dinner. As a lone female I felt safe throughout my brief stay and will definitely return.
