"Staff are excellent and very friendly. Stayed in the Bond room, was ok but a bit tacky. Bathroom ok but not at the rating of 5 star. Food was quite expensive for what it was. Parking is difficult and fills very quickly Due to layout and way people park."
"Lovely place nice friendly staff and good food. Decor has been done tastefully and in keeping with the age of the building
Recommend to anyone who fancied something not a large chain hotel "
"The pub is situated in peaceful countryside and is in a great location.
The proprietors were so welcoming and kind, helping me to my room with my luggage. My room was comfortable, nicely decorated and the bathroom clean with nice toiletries.
The food in the pub was good, and the service was friendly and efficient.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and would certainly stay there again if I’m in the area."

"Always a great stop. Lovely countryside to stretch your legs before a lovely dinner. Comfy sleep and tasty breakfast before hitting the road again. Great find. "
"Stone hotel is a lovely property set in the soothing Yorkshire Dales Countryside. The hotel was comfortable, food delicious and staff were friendly and provided first class service. My husband and I had a memorable break there. We will return. "
Remarkable barn conversion for 6 & 2 dogs, w/ free WiFi, open fire & 50 yards from the pub

"The Arches has the potential to be an amazing rental property. Muker is a stunning countryside location, if you don’t mind the long drive over the fells to start any journey. There are some negatives, a few already addressed with the owner, who kindly offered a small refund. No house sign for “the arches” at the property & the key was hidden in thick plant growth. We had been forewarned the washing machine was broken. The kitchen/lounge/stairs was very dirty, small leaf particles dirt & dust adorned the floors. We tried to vacuum but it smelt & was full of dirt & dog hairs, so we cleaned using a dustpan & brush.Downstairs was tired & needed a deep clean & refreshing to make brighter. The lounge smelled really strong of wet dogs & the smell from the sofas lingered on clothing if sat on. We therefore didn’t use the lounge. Cooker glass was dirty, food was left in freezer & a couple of the cupboards. Upstairs the bedrooms were large & the beds very comfortable. The rooms were light and airy and the bedding clean. There was a lovely view from 2 of the bedroom windows, the 3rd at the back of the property had no view. The bathroom was dated. The shower had to remain on “eco” to avoid a cold shower. A note to this effect would be useful for future residents. Cold tap drips if not turned off hard. The night storage heaters had been left on when we arrived in 30o summer temp. With a few amendments this will be a great property to return to. "
"The Punchbowl Inn was a lovely pub to stay at, the staff were very friendly, the food was amazing. The room was lovely and had a fantastic view of the dales. If I had to be picky it would have been nice to have a shower curtain or screen over the bath as using the shower head I tended to flood the floor, but the water was lovely and hot. and I would return again."
"A very clean and tidy cottage just down the road which leads from Askrigg to Muker. The property contains everything that you could possibly need for your holiday, in fact the amenities were over and above what I have experienced before.Location is perfect, Askrigg is a wonderful place to stay set as it is in the heart of the Dales. Aysgarth is 4 or 5 miles East, Hawes is 4 or 5 miles West. Askrigg boasts 3 public houses / hotels, the furthest of which is at the most a 5 minute walk away. We only ate in “Middle House”, the food was superb and a decent sized portion to boost.Chatting to the landlord in Middle House he informed us that his parents at one point actually lived in Brook Cottage!I couldn’t fault our stay here, we had a great week and came away with loads of memories of our stay."
