It is a lovely place. Many guests love to come back again. The manor with its 3 individual and comfortable apartments is located in a very quiet place. There are no noisy streets. It is surrounded by wine yards and olive groves. Quiet lanes and paths go in all directions. On its quiet way it is just 20 km in western direction to reach the sea. The wide km long beaches are rugged and untouched. There are soft sandy beaches around Follonica and also lonely bays and rock coast at Barattil/Populonia. Not far away is the next village Suvereto. There you have plenty of shopping facilities and different bars and restaurants. It is easy to reach historic places like Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa and Massa Marittima. Biking holidays/cycling holidays - free bikes: Discover the Etruscan Coast by bike. Biking for everyone. Every year, a lot of keen bike lovers from all over the world come to our region. It is a variety of cycling guests, or people who seek rest and also professional ones. They cycle daily over the flat field lanes to the sea. They also drive over streets which have not much traffic to visit different places and small villages. It is fun to explore the region by bike. The guest house is the starting point and is located on a height of 70 m. In direction of the coast the area is flat but the more you get into the countryside the higher and steeper it will be (up to 700 – 800 m). The sun is shining a lot. There is only rain during the winter. From March to the end of October it is dry and warm. A lot of months the area is dried up. You are welcome to use are mountain and trekking bikes, tandems and kid's bikes, like new and well maintained, during your entire stay and for free! Professional cycling: Professional cyclists will find ideal practising conditions and this nearly during the whole year. We have warm and dry climate and also beautiful and streets without much traffic. There are interesting routes with different distances. Professional cycling is very popular at the local population, especially at the weekends and during the holiday period. Everyone can then be found on the streets. Cyclists enjoy a lot of respect and care among car drivers. Wild back-country/nature park of Montioni: The guest house is directly adjacent to the nature par of Montioni. From here you can easily discover the endless paths and forest walks on foot or by mountain bike. We will provide good maps and informations about the area on site. The park is a wide, almost uninhabited area with original Macchia Mediterranea. From small slope you always have a nice view of the sea. With a little patience and luck you will be able to watch wild animals. Especially interesting are the variety of birds, tortoises, porcupines, boars, deer and stags, as well as harmless vipers and lizards. Aber das war zum Glück schnell behoben. Die Ankunft bei unserem Urlaubsort war spät, aber für den Inhaber gar kein Problem. Vor Ort ist eine wunderbare Ruhe die etwas magisches hat. Direkt neben dem Wein und Oliven Anbau lässt sich der Tag gut starten, am Abend und der Nacht sorgt die wenige Beleuchtung dafür, dass der Sternenhimmel hell erstrahlen kann. Der Inhaber ist ein Herzensguter Mensch den scheinbar nichts aus der Ruhe bringen kann und er kann viele Tipps zur Umgebung geben. Diese Unterkunft war top ausgestattet und absolut sauber! Dadurch, dass die Küche so toll ausgestattet ist, konnten wir uns auch hier austoben. Die Umgebung mit ihrer schönen Natur oder auch den kleinen Städten waren fast genauso schön wie der Strand und das Meer. Der Gastgeber Florian war überaus gastfreundlich! In der bestens ausgestatteten Küche stand Wein und Olivenöl aus eigenem Anbau zur Verfügung uns wurde bei Bedarf immer aufgefüllt von Florian, der auch ansonsten in jeder Beziehung immer ein offenes Ohr und einen Tip hatte. Die Ruhe uns der Blick auf die Natur sind phantastisch, besonders ist auch die Zypresseneinfahrt! Die umliegenden Orte mit ihrem italienischem Charme haben wir jeden Abend besucht. Wir waren schon sehr oft in der Toskana, aber wir werden bestimmt zu Florian zurückkehren, weil er ganz außerordentlich sympathisch ist und uns einen großartigen Aufenthalt ermöglicht hat. Er ist ein sehr herzlicher Mensch, der einem tolle Tipps geben kann! Dazu zum Empfang sehr guten eigenen Wein und hervorragendes Olivenöl, die Casa Grande sehr geräumig und gemütlich, die Betten äußerst bequem und eine Küche, in der wirklich an ALLES gedacht wurde. Die ganze Unterkunft sehr sauber, draußen schöne Sitzgelegenheit mit Grill, abends Glühwürmchen und absolute Stille, die man einfach nur genießen kann. Innerhalb weniger km kann man aber auch nette kleine Städtchen besichtigen und es gibt eine ganze Reihe von herrlichen Stränden, die man zum Teil schon in einer halben Stunde erreicht. Ideale Unterkunft auch mit Hund! Für Familien sowieso, da das Gelände sehr groß ist und es überall Spielmöglichkeiten gibt (einschließlich Trampolin, Hängematten u.a.). ##### Elisabeth H. Es ist komfortabel eingerichtet und mit allem Nötigen ausgestattet. Bei der Ankunft erwarteten uns in der Küche zwei Flaschen von Florians Wein und eine Karaffe seines köstlichen Olivenöls. Das Gästehaus ist sehr ruhig gelegen, etwas abseits von der Landstrasse, eigentlich ideal für alle, die mal wirklich abschalten und richtig entspannen wollen. Von Calzalunga aus kann man Autofahrten oder Radwanderungen in die Maremma unternehmen, wunderschöne mittelalterlichen Städtchen wie Suvereto, Campiglia Marittima oder Massa Marittima besichtigen oder die toskanischen Hügel mit ihren sich schlängelnden Straßen erforschen. Die Küste liegt etwas weiter entfernt, aber herrliche Strände sind trotzdem erreichbar, etwa bei der Baratti-Bucht. Florian steht seinen Gästen mit Ratschlägen zur Verfügung und ist praktisch immer erreichbar. Man fühlt sich von ihm wirklich als Gast, sehr freundschaftlich, behandelt, bekommt Trauben und Tomaten, darf Feigen und Mandeln pflücken und bei einem abendlichen Glas Wein erzählt er gern Interessantes über Land und Leute. Zum Haus gehören natürlich auch Katzen, was für uns Katzenliebhaber ein klares Plus war. Wir können Florians Gästehaus wärmstens empfehlen und werden noch lange an die schönen Tage in seinem Gästehaus bei Calzalunga zurückdenken. Alles war sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet, nichts hat gefehlt. Sehr angenehmer Vermieter, welcher einem immer gute Tipps gegeben hat. Florian der Vermieter ist ein sehr angenehmer Mensch und gibt viele sehr gute Tipps was man unternehmen kann und wo es sich lohnt hinzufahren, egal ob an nicht so bevölkerten Strand, schöne Wander- Lauf- oder Radtouren... für den der im Urlaub im Einklang mit der Natur erleben will, der lieber das Zirpen der Grillen und das Quaken von Fröschen hören will... der gerne in einer gut ausgestatteten Küche selber kocht... und dabei den ein oder anderen Rotwein genießen will ...der ist hier genau richtig... ##### Marc W. Das Anwesen ist riesig, die Räume waren bestens ausgestattet und sehr sauber und liebevoll vorbereitet. Es gibt einen Fußballplatz für die Kinder, ein Trampolin, Fahrräder zum kostenlosen Ausleihen, einen Bach zum Spielen in der Nähe. Wir haben mit unseren drei Kindern die Cassetta Grande bewohnt, das sind eigentlich zwei nebeneinander liegende Wohnungen mit separaten Eingängen. Da unsere Kinder noch klein sind, haben wir einfach ein Doppelbett aus der Nachbarwohnung in das sehr große Hauptzimmer, das einen Raumteiler hat, rübergetragen. Kein Problem für Florian, der aus Südtirol stammt und ein überaus freundlicher, aufmerksamer und zugleich entspannter Gastgeber ist. Unsere Kinder haben ihn schnell fest ins Herz geschlossen, ihn oft auch während seiner Arbeit beim Beschneiden der Olivenbäume besucht. Er versorgt einen rührend mit seinem sehr guten selbst gemachten und naturbelassenen Olivenöl und mit dem einfachen, aber sehr guten und bekömmlichen Rotwein. - Wer die Toskana von einer ganz und gar entspannten, ursprünglichen Seite kennenlernen will, ist hier richtig. ##### Heinz D. So stellt man sich Toskana vor ,sehr guter Wein und Olivenöl alles von Florian aus eigenem Anbau.Die Unterkunft war auch Top ,entweder innen auf einem Top Gasherd kochen oder einfach draußen bei einem Glas Rotwein grillen . Es ist alles da was man braucht um glücklich zu sein. Florian ist ein Super Typ ein perfekter Gastgeber, man füllt sich wie zu Hause .Freuen uns schon wieder auf das nächste Mal. ##### Melanie F. Florian ist ein super Vermieter, sehr hilfsbereit (wir hatten eine Autopanne und er hat uns zur Werkstatt gefahren und abgeholt). Die Casetta Media ist zwar klein, aber gemütlich und für eine Familie mit kleinen Kindern völlig ausreichend, dazu kommt der große Außenbereich mit Fußballwiese, Hängematten, Trampolin. Es gibt Feigen- und Mandelbäume, Weintrauben und drei Katzen. Zu den Stränden sind es 20 bis 30 Min. mit dem Auto, also nicht allzu weit. Wir haben uns in dem Häuschen sehr wohl gefühlt. Besonders angenehm war die Gastfreundlichkeit des Vermieters, die tollen Fahrräder, die er uns zur Verfügung gestellt hat und seine guten Tipps bezüglich der Umgebung. Er hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen und auch während unseres Urlaubs bestens betreut. Die Unterkunft haben wir sehr sauber und gepflegt angetroffen. Sie ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man so braucht.In der Nähe gibt es herrliche Ausflugsziele, die man gut mit dem Fahrrad erreichen kann.Und abends sitzt man wunderschön bei einem Glas Wein auf der Terasse und schaut den vielen Glühwürmchen zu.... Wir waren schon oft in der Toscana und in mehreren Unterkünften - das Weingut von Florian ist ein ganz besonders schöner Ort und sehr zu empfehlen!! ##### Erich N. ---
