It is a lovely place. Many guests love to come back again. The manor with its 3 individual and comfortable apartments is located in a very quiet place. There are no noisy streets. It is surrounded by wine yards and olive groves. Quiet lanes and paths go in all directions. On its quiet way it is just 20 km in western direction to reach the sea. The wide km long beaches are rugged and untouched. There are soft sandy beaches around Follonica and also lonely bays and rock coast at Barattil/Populonia. Not far away is the next village Suvereto. There you have plenty of shopping facilities and different bars and restaurants. It is easy to reach historic places like Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa and Massa Marittima. Biking holidays/cycling holidays - free bikes: Discover the Etruscan Coast by bike. Biking for everyone. Every year, a lot of keen bike lovers from all over the world come to our region. It is a variety of cycling guests, or people who seek rest and also professional ones. They cycle daily over the flat field lanes to the sea. They also drive over streets which have not much traffic to visit different places and small villages. It is fun to explore the region by bike. The guest house is the starting point and is located on a height of 70 m. In direction of the coast the area is flat but the more you get into the countryside the higher and steeper it will be (up to 700 – 800 m). The sun is shining a lot. There is only rain during the winter. From March to the end of October it is dry and warm. A lot of months the area is dried up. You are welcome to use are mountain and trekking bikes, tandems and kid's bikes, like new and well maintained, during your entire stay and for free! Professional cycling: Professional cyclists will find ideal practising conditions and this nearly during the whole year. We have warm and dry climate and also beautiful and streets without much traffic. There are interesting routes with different distances. Professional cycling is very popular at the local population, especially at the weekends and during the holiday period. Everyone can then be found on the streets. Cyclists enjoy a lot of respect and care among car drivers. Wild back-country/nature park of Montioni: The guest house is directly adjacent to the nature par of Montioni. From here you can easily discover the endless paths and forest walks on foot or by mountain bike. We will provide good maps and informations about the area on site. The park is a wide, almost uninhabited area with original Macchia Mediterranea. From small slope you always have a nice view of the sea. With a little patience and luck you will be able to watch wild animals. Especially interesting are the variety of birds, tortoises, porcupines, boars, deer and stags, as well as harmless vipers and lizards. Nous avons passé un séjour de rêve dans la casetta grande de Florian. La maison est rustique, très propre et très confortable. Le linge de maison, les draps sont fournis et le ménage est compris dans le prix, ce qui est un plus. Florian a tout fait pour que notre séjour se passe bien. Il a mis a notre disposition de l'huile d'olive de sa fabrication et son vin blanc couleur d'orange qui a été une découverte pour nous. Nos en avons rapporté en France pour le faire déguster à nos proches. Nous étions près de Suvereto (6km) un petit village perché typique et toujours vivant où il faisait bon flâner le soir. Nous avons pu alterner les visites et les bains de mer ce qui était idéal. Nous avons visité Sienne et San Gimignano bien sûr mais plus proche de la location il y a une multitudes de villages et de sites magnifiques qui méritent le détour : Massa Marittima, Bolgheri, Populonia etc... Ce que nous retenons surtout c'est la gentillesse de Florian qui sait rester discret mais toujours attentif. Ce séjour a été une réussite et restera gravé dans nos mémoire. J'allais oublier le chat roux qui a été notre compagnon pendant deux semaines ! Nous pensons déjà à revenir dans cette magnifique région d'Italie ! ##### LUC B. Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön und ruhig gelegen, absolut sauber und die ca. 4 km zum nächsten Bäcker kann man mit den Leihrädern schnell zurücklegen. Auch z.B. nach Suvereto gibt es wirklich ruhige Wege um mit dem Fahrrad dorthin zu kommen. Florian (Vermieter) ist absolut gastfreundlich, nett und zuvorkommend und wie in einigen vorangegangenen Bewertungen erwähnt wirklich nicht aufdringlich. Für ruheliebende Naturfreunde ein Traum! Schon die Begrüßung, mit von Florian selbst hergestellten Olivenöl, Rotwein und einem großen Korb frisch gepflückter Weintrauben, war sehr herzlich. Die Unterkunft ist mit allem was man benötigt ausgestattet, sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Florian war, trotz laufender Weinlese, immer hilfsbereit und hatte gute Tipps für Unternehmungen. Die Lage ist weit ab vom Schuss, genau richtig für jeden, der entspannen und die Natur genießen möchte. Mit dem Auto konnte man sehr gut Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und das Meer, ebenso kleine Städte und Dörfer erreichen, um etwas Kultur zu schnuppern. Besonders für unsere Vierbeiner, somit auch für uns, war der Aufenthalt entspannt. Sie konnten sich im Gelände frei bewegen und mussten nicht ständig reglementiert werden. Großer Vorteil war der Reisezeitraum. Die Ferien sind überall vorbei, so dass die Orte und die Strände nicht mehr so voll sind und das Wetter war noch hochsommerlich. Sehr gastfreundlicher, hilfsbereiter Vermieter ! Sehr schöne Lage, mitten im Weinanbaugebiet. Alles sehr sauber, groß und gut eingerichtet, es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Unsere Kinder (3 und 5) waren restlos begeistert - Fußballplatz direkt vor der Nase, Fahrräder, Trampolin, Schaukel. Außerdem gab es frische Weintrauben direkt von der Rebe, Feigen vom Baum und Salbei vom Strauch, alles da. Das Wetter war wunderschön, das (ebenso wunderschöne) Meer war nicht weit weg und mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen. Florian, der sehr gastfreundliche und hilfsbereite Vermieter (der übrigens sehr gut deutsch spricht) hat uns alles gezeigt - wo gibts das Beste Meer, wo kann man Eis essen oder Pizza. Nach einer langen Anreise mit dem Auto kamen wir spät abends am Ferienhaus an und wurden herzlich durch Florian begrüßt. Die Ferienanlage befindet sich etwas außerhalb von Suvereto in angenehm ruhiger Lage umgeben von Olivenbäumen und Weinreben - ideal zum Abschalten vom alltäglichen Streß. Unsere Unterkunft - die Casetta Piccola - war einfach und praktisch eingerichtet, es war alles vorhanden, was man benötigt, alles sehr ordentlich und gepflegt. Florian war stets sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, hat uns Ausflugstipps gegeben und viel von der Umgebung oder Italien allgemein erzählt. Auch der Wein und das Olivenöl aus eigener Produktion sind ein Genuß. Wir haben uns in den Tagen sehr viele bezaubernde Orte angeschaut. Neben dem nahen liegenden Suvereto oder Massa Marittima, waren wir auch im wundervollen Pitigliano, haben die Insel Elba erkundet und sind am Golf von Barrati am Meer entlang spaziert. Natürlich haben wir die Region auch kulinarisch erkundet, inspiriert durch den Slow Food Restaurantführer Osterie d' Italia, haben wir viele Facetten der toskanischen Küche kennengelernt. Da wir das erstemal in der Toscana waren und mit Gastgeber Florian einen deutschsprachigen großartigen Freund fanden , der nicht nur besten Rotwein herstellen kann , sondern auch vielseitige Informationen über Land,Geschichte,Natur gibt. Die Ausstattung unseres Ferienhauses ist perfekt und reicht bis Zum Geschirrspüler und Gewürzen. Der allgemeine Zustand ist gepflegt und sehr sauber. Wir werden unseren Freunden und Bekannten das Gasthouse wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Empfehlenswerte Sachen sind : Zugreise nach Florenz mit Besuch der Uffizien, Altstadtbummel in Suvereto , Besuch Elba ( bis 31.5.14 noch die 200-jährige Feier Napoleonischem Aufenthaltes mit Uniformen) , natürlich das Pisa-Ensemble ,Carrara : Besuch des Marmor/Steinbruchs .
