It appears as though the owners are renovating the place, which is great news because the carpets and furniture are in bad shape and the walls may as well be paper. On a positive note, the sheets were great.

Room was too hot, with no controls. With string winds outside, couldn't leave the window open. Seemed like the room hadn't been cleaned, though the beds and bathroom where fine. We were able to walk to a fine pub for dinner. Their restaurant is very small and there was no one there when we tried it. The bar is only open after 6pm, so we couldn't have a drink on arrival. Price is reasonable and they did have transfer to airport.

Shame to see wallpaper in areas of the hotel ripped and missing. A lick of paint is needed to brighten the place. Feet were hanging of the end of the bed. I guess you get what you pay for. Three very very small beds crammed into a very small room. Wish I had payed more for a better experience

Basic service and room. It just needs a slight refresh of bedding and curtains to not look so cheap. The room was cheap in price, so I wasn’t expecting much, though it provided I everything I needed. I think just for the asthetic aspect, just plain bedding would be better than the cheap looking mis- matched bedding and curtains they currently have. Would stay again though if only using as a transit stop before an early flight and only sleeping there for a few hours.

Basic hotel but clean, comfortable and convenient for pre-flight stay. Good value for money even with the parking fee (which I would rather it was added to the Expedia hotel rate rather than having to pay separately on site). Overall I would stay again if taking an early Gatwick flight.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable, close safe walk to town. Breakfast for a fee was ok. Hotel is old, messy, room was hot, no control over temperature. We opened a window on main floor all night, which isn't safe. Someone knocked twice then opened our door with a key at 7:30 am. Reception check-in and out wasn't very professional.

Booked with parking and breakfast, they insisted on charging for parking and wanted to charge for breakfast. This was then taken off the bill, however breakfast consisted of instant self made coffee, no hot offerings, even eggs! Cutlery was very poor wooden offerings. Left in disgust as staff were very unhelpful as well

Ok, but parking wasn't free
The hotel was under renovation during our stay... I was aware of this when I booked and was fine with it. The facility is dated, so it's a good thing that they're doing the reno! Room was small, but beds were comfortable. The handheld shower head was patched together with tape and leaked profusely making the water pressure terrible. When searching for hotels, I specifically picked one with free parking but when I arrived, I was told there would be a parking fee of £12/night. We opted to use the hotel's airport transfer service (£13). I was disappointed that the driver didn't help us with our bags and just stood by as the other (elderly) passengers and I wrestled them into the back of the van.

Quick overnight stay
Just a quick overnight for an early flight from Gatwick. More than convenient, easy transaction, small but nice room and the offer of airport parking which we were unaware of and had already booked. Building work currently, but didn't make any difference to us and several pubs etc a short walk away in Horley

Good value for money

Average but acceptable
A very average place but acceptable for one night. The place looks to be permanently in renovation so not to actually do any upgrades. The transfer cost £13 extra, that equates to an hourly rate of £200/hour

Affordable room near Horley pubs and train station. The room was very small and warm. Opened the window and bees flew in while I was sleeping. Got stung twice. Should consider puting in a screen. Staff varied from good customer service to no availability. The airport shuttle is hit and miss.

We slept great but the overall condition wasn’t the greatest. It was under construction and I bought the breakfast and it was very lacking.

One night stay
After reading terrible reviews, I was very wary but ended up pleasantly surprised. Checking in no problem & pleasant man on reception. Yes tired in areas & lots of building work being carried out in reception & dining area but I did not eat there at all. Room was large enough for one person, maybe needed a bit of tlc but did have usb point for phone, kettle & plenty of tea & coffee available & bottle of water provided. Bathroom & shower were lovely, clean area & no complaints. I think I would book again for one night if needed as excellent location & £2 one stop only to Gatwick airport.

It was difficult to rate this hotel given we had just returned from the Greek islands. We did note that the property is undertaking renovations. It is also a long way from the airport and we needed to get a cab. The staff were helpful and regularly in contact about our arrival times.

The room wasn’t as pictured. I got a double bed but inside the room was the double and bunk beds which made the space incredibly cramped and feels closed in. In the pictures it was just the double. The bathroom was spacious enough, the room was clean. A mini fridge would’ve been nice. The beds were too soft for my comfort level but otherwise check in/out was quick and easy. The property itself was decent and the location was perfect. Quick and easy walk from the bus you would need for Gatwick and a convenience store nearby too.

Good cheap hotel for one night. clean and friendly staff. Very basic, but just what I needed. No extras like fancy shampoo or biscuits, but comfortable beds and quiet. Would have been better with a back out blind for the curtains.

We stayed here as an overnight stop before our flight. We were not informed it was going through a refit. My wife and i and 2 grandchildren were put into a room with 2 bunk beds. This is definetly a first for us.

Good service, during renovations
On checking in, we requested borrowing a hairdryer for our early morning start. Despite an extensive search one couldn't be found, even after checking empty rooms. A short while later, there was a knock at our door. One of the staff was there with a brand new one they had obviously been out to purchase. Overall, the reception and owning staff were very helpful.

Excellent hotel for price with on site car parking, transfer and perfect location for airport. Short stroll to local shops and pubs/restaurants. Wonderful staff with great sense of humour. Special thanks to Vishal for his hospitality and arranging short notice time change for our transfer to airport.

They said they had a shuttle to the airport but they didn't. They said they had a restaurant on the property but they didn't. There was hardly anything for the continental breakfast. The staff was often absent from the desk.

Thank you for your valuable feedback, charges to shuttle are similar to taxi, we do try to do when we have driver available to do the transfer. Even before we used to do it from 7.30am to 10pm. We make sure as a guest no one loses anything.Our breakfast is self service continental breakfast most of the items are in buffet and cold stuff in fridge, ie ham, cheese, yoghurt, juice. we do not do great breakfast which is why our charge is only 5 as it was not included in your price.Our check in and check out happens at same time of arrival, morning staff do keep eye on reception every 5-10mins while they do their other work.Hope this explains your says.Thank you and will expect you to allow us to serve you for your next trip.

kettle lid did not close. allocated double room had chosen and paid for triple. no heating in the morning, no hot water for shower at any time. no hairdryer. some very casually dressed guests that we assumed to be immigrants. only one glass mis matched duvet cover and pillow cases. otherwise cleanliness was average, reception staff friendly.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We offered ground floor double room as you were two, while triple room was upstairs. We would have change the room if you had expressed your objection. we have given triple or family rooms to some single guest too as our priority is guest comfort and requirements to be fulfilled.Kettle lid was put other way round. Hot water is centralized and shower tap handle to turn on left side for hot water.guests comes from all around the world and we do not accept bookings from any councils.Hope this clears your issue points.
