Comfortable hotel. Not easily accessible for those with mobility problems. Parking is an issue. But the hotel itself is very nice. Breakfasts are good. The restaurant offers good options for dinner. Nice bar. The pool is fantastic, the garden is lovely, and there are great walking possibilities. Some rooms have cosy balconies, but try to avoid loud weddings.

Excellent stay at the Burford Bridge Hotel! The hotel is older - my room was clean, comfortable, and very quiet. The bus stop just steps from the door took me to downtown Dorking for great food and a concert. Karima went above and beyond to help me with transportation, wi-fi, and made my experience top-notch. I will definitely stay here again on a future trip to Dorking.

Beautiful property, with excellent, helpful staff. The rooms were well decorated and clearly well maintained, but were also a bit old, hence the window was a bit drafty. But that said, the room was still warm and comfy and the bathroom was excellent. I feel it’s such a shame that someone staying at a hotel is expected to pay for parking as an extra. This should be removed and if there is a negative, this would be it.

Loved the hotel, room was a little tired, bathrooms updated. Parking £10 but lots of water everywhere. Was visiting friends and a direct line call to taxi firm was told its £18 even when i was told them it was a 6 min drive away, didn't seem happy about no cash either. Bit of a ripoff to be honest.

The staff, service and hotel are great . However the black mould on the grout in my bathroom was terrible it was everywhere and I was disappointed when I brushed a face cloth over some and it came off easily. This suggests that the bathroom and tiles just had not been cleaned thoroughly which is not really acceptable. Such a shame for what could have been an otherwise excellent stay.

Housekeeping needs a shake up with room cleaning and replenishing items in rooms especially provided. The age of property is apparent however not acceptable for such a special hotel. Mold in bathrooms could use bleach and treatment. Rotting wood around windows and access French doors in bedrooms. Breakfast should include a selection of more healthy options I.e smoked salmon avocado. Eggs Benedict on Sundays .

Don’t be fooled by the reception area
The reception and bar/restaurant area of the hotel are really nice and exactly what you would expect from a hotel at this price point. The rooms unfortunately are not, in my room the bathroom ceiling was covered in mould the paint was peeling from the walls and the carpets were disgusting. It definitely needs a face lift.

Need better response to problems.
Disappointing response from reception to a couple of problems. 1. Went to reception to ask if they had any spare tv remote controls as the one in our room was faulty. A shrug from the receptionist and a simple “No” was all I got. After trying to reset it and putting new batteries in, I went back and asked if I could get one from an unoccupied room. This caused her to give a big sigh and was obviously an inconvenience, though it did produce a positive result. 2. Reported on Sunday evening that there was a problem with the toilet flush in our room, in that not even paper was not being flushed away. I was told that there was no one from maintenance on site, so the only solution was a room move. As it was late, we decided that we would manage without overnight as they could look into the problem in the morning. When we were going out on Monday morning, I reminded reception that we had the flush problem and said we would be out all day. Upon our return late on Monday we discovered that the flush was still not working properly, but as we had only 1 night left we didn’t bother trying to get it sorted then. We also had a problem with the hot water going off in our block but we were able to use the shower in another room, which was helpful but not ideal. The water was reinstated the same day. We have stayed here plenty of times before and will do again as it is convenient for us. So this experience hasn’t put us off but was a let down on our previous visits.

My stay at the Mercure Box Hill hotel was pleasant in every regard with one exception. There was no lift (elevator). It had not occurred to me before booking that a hotel rated with 4 stars could lack such a vital amenity. It should be stated up front on the list of property amenities.

Lovely Hotel, we stayed for a wedding and it was perfect, the staff organised everything on the day to make it enjoyable. Excellent food nice cleans room , comfy bed and the hidden gem of a fantastic outdoor pool was a bonus especially as the weather has been so good.

Had a lovely stay, all the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The pool was lovely and breakfast was hot and replenished frequently. The hotel is very well kept and the grounds are immaculate. Saw lots of bunnies on the lawn and the location is perfect for Chessington, Legoland, Hampton Court etc Highly recommend and will be back!

Lovely old hotel in great condition and great facilities including a large outside heated swimming pool
