The hotel was well placed for an event we were going to close to Woking. The on-site car park was tight, but we were grateful that it allowed us to come & go during our stay. £15 parking seems a little pricey, but I was fine to pay it.
On check-in we were told we had a Twin Room for my wife and I. I said that I hadn’t intended to book a twin & please could we be moved to a Double, at which point the staff member began changing our room in his system… Fortunately my wife had the foresight to ask “there isn’t a charge for this is there?” and the guy replied “yes of course”. I’ve never known a hotel charge for a minor room adjustment so I was a little put out, especially given the hotel seemed very quiet, and we stuck with the Twin Room that we had.
The room itself was perfectly fine and we both slept very well. The view was quite uninspiring (the hotel waste/refuse area) and the bathroom looked like it could do with a spruce up, but the room was good for a 3* level hotel and felt very clean.
The Bar area was not especially pleasant with very bright spotlights throughout and wasn’t a comfortable place to spend much time. I also noted they add a service charge to all bills even if you have ordered at the bar. 10% for pouring a pint felt a bit like Hilton profiteering. We had 1 drink & didn’t fancy to stay for a 2nd.
Breakfast was good - again perfectly fine for a 3* hotel.
We won’t rush back to stay here but if it was convenient, I would happily stay again.
